GoogleThe Aberdeen branch of Martin & Co are absolutely awful. It’s difficult to say wether it’s the agency itself or just the people who have been employed at this particular branch. The process of moving in was painful as none of the staff could tell what supplier was used for the electricity. They bounced me between “Tennant Shop” and themselves. It was a bad sign that the staff in this branch didn’t know basic information about a flat they were renting out. The branch also sent out my personal number to someone who sent me a poorly written text asking if they could check the property to fit in two heaters. There was no official acknowledgment that this person was any part of Martin & Co and found it unacceptable that Martin & Co wouldn’t request this appointment themselves. They have also implied I have lost items and Dana fed the property however no one was competent enough to reference the original inventory. I strongly recommend avoiding this Martin & Co until they can employ the right people or at least do a better job at training them.

GoogleI have been with Martin & Co for a short time and have been dealing with Michael the Property Service Co-ordinator. He provides a professional service and goes above and beyond, for example putting up leaflets advertising my flat in the university. He deals with issues quickly and is detail orientated, flagging issues in my flat, of which I was unaware. I feel nothing is a problem for Michael. He is always polite and considerate and addresses my concerns. In the short period that I’ve been with the company, they’ve made me feel comfortable from the outset. I would recommend them to anyone looking for property services within the area.

Trustpilot2 years ago I was a new landlord and…
2 years ago I was a new landlord and while the tenant was paying her rent and there were no problems everything was fine. However, as with all companies, it is how they serve you when things are not going smoothly that shows their real competence, or incompetence. During the last year I have had about 6 new people handling my account so no continuity at all. A flood caused by my tenant’s son was handled badly with poor communication. I ended up having to manage the whole incident. Recently, several months rent were unpaid without me being advised and with no visit to the tenant until I suggested they do so. The final straw was the tenant leaving the property with £2,500 repairs, owing 3 months rent and leaving old mattresses and furniture which I had no idea about until after the event. Martin and Co did not even request the deposit refund until I advised they had not done it. I would suggest saving yourself the 12% fee and managing your rental property yourself. I only give 1 star because none is not possible.
