I am very much appreciated by the services offered by Apropos, especially Stephen Lawson who had been very helpful in the whole letting process from understanding my needs, providing advice, keys collection, arranging certifications and maintenance, furnishing the property, marketing and dealing with potential tenant. He was very responsive and I was well informed the status of each stage of the letting process. In addition, I also thank Elliot, Evie, Lauren, Finlay for their support and assistance on handling various matters in letting the property.

I leased my property initially to a privately owned company and this had a more personnel touch. The management was taken over by Lomond and finally by Stonehouse leasing which at the beginning lost the more personnel touch. Over time a a number of Housing Managers looked after my property which for me became disjointed, a more personal feeling was restored with the final Housing Manager and I was more at ease with the management of the property. Stonehouse Leasing were sometimes let down by the standard of repair work carried out by the maintenance company Lomond but the assigned Manager for my property always did her best to assure things got done quickly and efficiently. The eviction of the tenants was a difficult one but the Stonehouse management persevered until finally the tenants quit the property after a period of 16months. The reason for the length of time to evict the tenants was no way contributed to Stonehouse’s efforts but all down to a difficult family and the reduced protection to Landlords Their assistance to me and their efforts during this period where excellent and I would have no hesitation in using Stonehouse Leasing again.PositiveResponsiveness, Professionalism

A case study in how not to run a customer facing business. As someone who has worked in customer service for 15 years Stonehouse is a lesson in how not to provide customer service. The lack of communication, lack of pride and lack genuine care I experienced in my dealings with Stonehouse I found unbelievable. It took them three months to fix a window in the property that was letting in the wind and rain. This was in a property that had no central heating during winter. The fact that the check-in inventory didn't notice this problem along with the resultant damp it caused I found hard to understand. Such incompetence shouldn't happen in a large professional company such as Stonehouse. However the real problems happened when I decided to move out. Even allowing for the difficulties of covid the communication was astoundingly poor. This meant my move into my new property was delayed as they wouldn't even respond to my request for a reference. When they did they charged me £30 for sending a standard one page email reference to my new letting agency. The lawfulness of this (given the Letting fees Scotland act 2012) along with the morality of this charge I find hard to justify. The unapologetic way they expected me to pay what amounted to a ransom ( I needed the reference to be able to move) really stunned me. It's such a short sighted way of running a business and for the sake of £30 they simply insured I would never use them again in the future and will insure no one I know will either. They don't seem to understand such a basic thing as their reputation is the key to remaining viable as a business. It characterises the real lack of basic empathy towards their customers I have experienced in my time dealing with Stonehouse. To add further insult they tried to keep a large chunk of my deposit for cleaning and the replacing of a light bulb. This despite their own check out inventory saying I had cleaned the place to a professional standard. It was over three months after having vacated that I received any notification about my deposit despite having chased them for it repeatedly. Then after another month of having argued my case with Letting Protection Scotland I finally got the remainder of my full deposit back. All these problems I asked to be escalated further up to rectify such a gross failure to provide even the most rudimentary level of customer service. But unsurprisingly I received no response or follow up. It seems not one person I dealt with asked the basic question; "would I myself find it reasonable to be treated this way if I was the customer." Such a simple question would go such a long way in rectify many of the issues I experienced. Looking at the other reviews it's unfortunate that my case is not an isolated incident. If the company I worked for offered such shocking service I struggle to see how we could remain in business especially in the competitive market Stonehouse find themselves in. As a customer service professional the whole situation has left me flabbergasted. I sincerely hope for all those whose lively hoods depend on Stonehouse things change as clearly something is very wrong with this company. I have given them two stars as I feel certain allowances have to be made in these challenging times we all find ourselves. Until something changes I would urge you all to look elsewhere if you are in the market for a letting agent. I had a very nice experience renting with Stonehouse. I knew Gill and Maureen which were great, very kind, proactive and helped me a lot for finding the right flat. Fast, efficient and friendly estate agents

Moving house is generally a stressful event on its own, never mind the fact that I had to move during Covid-19 pandemic from another city. I would like to thank Natalie Cotton and Lee Charlton for all their efforts.They have answered all my questions and requests while managing to finalise my tenancy agreement at such short notice. Outstanding service from Catherine Bruce at DJ Alexanders

I have been using D J Alexanders to rent out my property for years and they are first class. They inform me of any repairs needed immediately and advise me of the best way forward. My flat is never empty for long and they are amazing at finding new tenants. I have recently asked Alexander’s to sell my flat and Catherine Bruce has sold it for me in less than a week.
