After having many rental applications rejected by other agencies D.J. Alexander helped us secure tenancy for an amazing property in Edinburgh. I’d like to give a big thanks to Ali and Lee in particular. Ali could not have been more accommodating with the flat viewing, he also had great communication skills via email and went out of his way to keep us updated on the situation. Lee was also excellent in this regard and was very quick to respond to any and every question I had (and there were many of them) via email and was also very accommodating and understanding. Overall a great first experience with D.J. Alexander and I would recommend them to anyone looking to rent a flat in Edinburgh!

GoogleI have dealt with a few letting agencies, however Stonehouse were the worst. In the beginning they were really nice, responsive to emails ...But during the tenancy everything changed. - POOR COMMUNICATION: they "lost" my emails, ignored my questions, showed up after less than 24 hour notice (breach of the contract). A few times they also advised an inspection, but cancelled the very last minute or they did not even show up (they did not pick up when I tried phoning just before 4pm to see if anyone will be stopping by and they replied to my email a few days later). They change the property managers frequently, so you never know who to contact and when I asked once who is my new property manager, I received a very rude reply. - POOR FINANCE MANAGEMENT: They also asked me to overpay, but when I asked for my money to be returned, they wanted to charge me a transaction fee. Luckily, I had emails to prove the over-payment was by their request and they ignored the fee and refunded me. However, the absolute worst was leaving them. - CHECKING OUT: The checkout report was done without my presence (due to COVID, I do understand that, even though since Aberdeen was not in the lockdown at that time, it would be nice to be at least asked to be present). The report itself was disgraceful, completed well after I already left the property, it completely disregarded the check-in report and listed things that were beyond my control. They attempted to charge me the most unreasonable things (i.e. I hired a professional cleaning company that cleaned the property on the last day of the tenancy and the agency claimed the property still needs professional cleaning). The whole thing went to adjudication process and during it the agency came up with ridiculous excuses and prolonged the process as long as they could. ADVICE for current tenants - TAKE PHOTOS AND VIDEOS and make sure they are dated, you will need them.NegativeQuality, Professionalism

GoogleRented a place for several years from this company in Aberdeen, had to move out as the owner wanted to move in, I then took another one of their places. Very good to deal with, very professional, would have no hesitation dealing with them again. Whole move was made very easy despite being at short notice, my fault. Any repairs were dealt with promptly, deposit returned no issue. Thanks to Gill and Paige for going out of their way to sort things out for me so quickly when at the time most other companies in the area could not even be bothered to organise viewings on apartments.PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

It's really rare to find an agent that's genuinely empathic and caring for tenants - but these guys have showcased that in the exceptional service they've given me; Jackie especially helped me with securing the property - she took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for in terms of space, location and budget, and was always very knowledgeable and helpful with my questions. I trusted her to show me a place (which I hadnt actually seen online yet) that she felt was exactly what I wanted, and this was the property I ended up taking! GoogleI am really happy to say that so far this was the best letting agency I have rented with! I don't know what other people have experienced with Stonehouse that they wrote such low reviews but I can personally say that we are really happy with them. The moment we had the property viewings up to the point of receiving the keys and beyond that point they were always professional. I want to thank Gill especially for all the help she has given us from day one! We were struggling to find a good property and at such short notice as we had a bad experience with a potential other letting agency that let us down but we explained our situation to Gill and she acted upon it real quick! The property that we rent now is more that we could have hoped for and we are considering to stay with this agency for a good few years. I was looking for a place to rent and 3\4 signs are dummy.They put random signs all over the streets about properties they don't have. For both rent and sell.Customer Support is really bad. I tried calling them and asking on the website. Bots are just limiting my options of communication to filling a form for property that I can't find on their website.

I've used DJ Alexander's services for the past 3 years when I bought, rented out and recently sold my flat in Glasgow. For each service, I was very impressed with the proactive and responsive way in which the team and especially Catherine Bruce handled any queries I had. Buying or selling a property can be a long, arduous process (especially over lockdown) but Catherine made the process as simple as possible and communicated updates regularly to put me at ease. Overall, an excellent experience - I would highly recommend DJ Alexander!
