TrustpilotRental tenant
So where do I begin. My landlord who I rented with privately decided to migrate and love abroad and since the communication was difficult she asked our permission to give management over to peter Alan, while having ding over management she also disclosed to them that there were issues with the property that needed to be addressed to ASAP. I also have a loft to the manager of the property of the issues that needed to be resolved hoping they would take control (like they were paid to do) and fox these issues. I was managed by them for nearly a year and not once was these issues investigated or fixed. I had to call twice a week for months to get anything back from them and also blamed the landlord for not responding to them. Fast forward to now… we are now moved out after a section 21 notice as the landlord had to sell up due to lack or management and maintenance by Peter alan and causing too much stress to the landlord and myself. They never communicated all the issues I was telling them about to the landlord and never told me she was responding to them aswel. Once I got served the section 21 I enquired about 5/6 different properties with peter alan. And they said they would get back to me with the answers I had asked and I also asked for my name to be put forward for a few of the properties and nothing ever came back from It. I basically had to nag for information and updates and even one of the propertied was sat empty for weeks because they never officially put my name forward for it. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone the lack of trust and honesty is appalling and it shows a lot that they don’t care about the landlord the tenants and keeping them as clients or even trying to get new clients. I’m Glad I’m no longer with them and it was unfortunate it caused so many arguments with me and the landlord personally as there was so much miscommunication and misunderstanding. Please be aware and stay away

TrustpilotLettings
Please read the reviews, especially if you are going to use the letting service. The firm are literally useless. If the tenant pays they are more than happy to automatically deduct the management fee for doing nothing. If the tenant doesn’t pay on time or their is anything more involved than deducting their fees, you are on your own. Peter Alan will not communicate with you whatsoever. Having managed to track down my tenant privately, it turns out the service is just as bad to them. Appalling service and has cost me a significant amount of money. DO NOT TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGEPOLE.

TrustpilotPeter Alan hands down wins the Oscar…
Peter Alan hands down wins the Oscar for Worst Estate Agent in the World award.Without going into detail as this review would turn into a 4 hour read, I would urge all prospective sellers not to touch this company with a barge pole.Peter Alan are a brand owned by Connells Group who are a large national network of Estate Agents across the UK.The entire experience was grossly unprofessional, handled by inexperienced staff. We took our case to The Property Ombudsman who found in our favour on multiple counts, and we finally agreed a settlement before going to court.DO NOT use this company as I can assure you their level of competency does not meet the standards required as set out by The Property Ombudsman which they are a member of.You have been warned.

TrustpilotHassle from the start
Hassle from the start. Took them over a week to get it on line despite promising to be on that day. Nearly a month to get pictures with it and that was after phoning numerous times. No for sale sign etc. Problem after problem but the worst was when it took them a week to tell me I had an offer over the asking price. By the time I found out the person had already put an offer on another house. Will never use peter allan again!

Trustpilotmortgage advising
This is for the mortgage advisor team I would like to express my complete dissatisfaction of the way that my mortgage has been handled. I am a first time buyer, my mortgage application has been going on now since February 2021 and we are now in December and my mortgage is still not completed. During my time as a customer of Peter Alan I have been assigned three different mortgage advisors (one of which I still haven’t been officially told has left the company), I have been ignored by the your mortgage advisors, I have had to do most, if not all, of the chasing around in order to get my mortgage sorted, which is what I have paid your company to do. The property that I am purchasing, I so far have been very lucky with, because as you can imagine with the length of time that I have been going through the mortgage offer and getting no where with my advisors the vendor has been very patient however, with no updates from this company, I have nearly lost the property on three different occasions, (this is where I have had to do the chasing around, whilst holding down a full time job). The latest occasion that this has happened was when I finally got my mortgage offer, after ringing The Conells Group over and over again. Now, only to find out that the mortgage company has put the wrong solicitors on the mortgage offer and once again I am at risk of losing the property because of this.As you can possibly see, I am really not happy not only because of this, but I have been told that I will be in my new home before Christmas, which by the looks of it now possibly won’t happen either because we’ve only got 16 days until Christmas. You cannot begin to understand the amount of stress that this has caused me, and it has also caused a decline in my mental health.

TrustpilotIdeally I'd leave a 0 star review but…
Ideally I'd leave a 0 star review but that's not an option, tried selling a house through these cowboys caused us nothing but hassle and stress and the hidden costs is unbelievable once the 20 week contract of them being the sole seller is up wait for the numerous phone calls demanding money for this and that.We had the house on the market for offers over 80k after 6 weeks of interest and 2 buyers pulling out peter Alan suggested we sell to a cash buyer for around 40k or put the house into auction as it would never sell the price we wanted managed to sell the house privately for the price we wanted Wouldn't waste your time or money with this estate agent for 20 weeks they have caused nothing but stress

GoogleCath and Chris have done a fantastic job of finding tenants on multiple occasions for me this year. The process is always smooth, and I am kept well informed throughout. They run a thorough operation that gives me great confidence to entrust them with my portfolio. Their ongoing management service is also very well executed. Many thanks for all of your efforts!!

TrustpilotAwful. Don't bother if you are a buyer
Peter Alan are the typical minimal work, but max money estate agents. Sure it's a seller's market but I truly dislike their marketing strategy which makes it so most buyers won't actually ever have a chance of buying through them. What happens is they list a property but do viewings purely on 1 day only, normally around 10 days later. Their aim is to fill the diary that day and place an offer deadline over the next few days. Highest offer with best circumstances (cash buyers) wins. I totally understand that seller's want the best price, but doing things this way just wastes most peoples time. If you rely mostly on a mortgage, don't bother even viewing as you won't get anywhere. They rely on and want cash buyers and if there's any of them on Peter Alan's big viewing day, everyone else has no chance. It's a shame it's so misleading as first time buyers relying on a mortgage will go and view when they actually have zero chance whatsoever of their offer being accepted. Peter Alan don't advertise mass viewings days but they just make you assume the reason the viewing is up to 10 days away from the enquiry date is because they are busy. Actually as I mentioned, they want everyone crammed into 1 day and unless you are a pure cash buyer wanting to offer higher than the asking price, you are wasting your time. Again, it would be nice if they informed people of this as many non cash buyers will have travelled hours to get there when they had no chance all along. We've fallen for this a few times now and even though we are of a good standing (60% cash, rest buy to let mortgage), there's more chance of a pig convoy in the sky than ever managing go buy a Peter Alan listed property. It would be nice if they actually were honest about their tactics as it sure has taken the p*** driving over 2 hours each way each time before we eventually realised it's wasting time and money doing so when we were never going to have any potential offer we made accepted.

Very good at renting, terrible at repairs.Been waiting over a week for a kitchen tap to be repaired,it leaks constantly, waited in all morning only to find out the plumber had been cancelled, nobody informed us, luckily I saved his number and was able to contact him and he informed the job had been cancelled by Peter Alan

TrustpilotTerrible from start to finish
Rented a property with Peter Alan, since before moving in there was a lack of communication, when moved into the property, it was not cleaned at all was very dirty and has the previous owners shoes and even teeth in the bathroom!! Had tried changing rent payment date since before we moved in and still has not been sorted. Found out that they had not payed out landlord for the first three months we were there when we had been paying our rent to them. We needed maintenance assistance and was not granted by landlord as they had not received rent. Would call for things to be sorted out and not hear anything so would call up for an update and not even remember our previous conversation! Would never rent from them again and do not recommend to anyone! Stay clear!!

TrustpilotAbsolutely abysmal service
Absolutely awful service from Peter Alan who seem more concerned with pleasing out landlord. Our first 2 years of tenancy were private with the landlord and in that time he did not arrange a single property check, and we reported one issue to be fixed which was window handles coming lose and falling off (new builds - rubbish fixtures!). After realising it was too much for him he passed the management to Peter Alan. In the high winds earlier this year our fence blew down which we reported back in June alongside a leaking kitchen sink and MORE dodgy window handles. I chased and chased every single week to no avail, logged a complaint which was extremely poorly handled and a contractor finally came out on 27th August but only did the fence! I chased and chased again, until the contractor came back out on 20th September. The window was fixed fine, the sink tap fixture was replaced and is STILL leaking!Peter Alan have been absolutely useless throughout the whole time, I have never received such a pitiful service in my life. In July, after 4 weeks waiting, I asked Peter Alan whether there was a process in place whereby the landlord takes too long to reply so the agency get someone in and bill the landlord? They told me there was, but had the cheek to add "After we've allowed them sufficient time to reply and depending on the urgency." It had been 4 weeks, and my children went on to spend the WHOLE 6 weeks holidays unable to play in our garden as it was unsafe due to the fence! I mentioned this several times and it still wasn't fixed until right at the very end of the 6 weeks. I am absolutely appalled with the service from Peter Alan, disgusting company.

TrustpilotShocking service
Shocking service ! Having been forced to arrange the photographer myself, I then had to edit the property details several times due to obvious mistakes. Then discovered that the asking price was wrong when published. The buyers were local so no interaction with the Estate agent was required. Just as well because you could never get a call back when requested ! After the sale I requested a reduction in the commission to compensate for all the problems and was told that if the bill was not settled immediately they would take me to court and ruin my credit file. Nearly £5k paid for absolutely nothing. They didnt even produce particulars because the house sold straight away. I will NEVER use an Estate Agent like this again. They are worse than Bankers !

TrustpilotWorst Agency Ever
They installed a security door after I moved in without providing me a key fob effectively locking me out of my own building. Fortunately someone was able to come the same day to give me one but who plans maintenance like that? When I moved out they tried to charge me a convenient amount of £588 for "advertising fees" and another £160 for cleaning even when they said the inspector only found some light dust on the bottom of a wardrobe and some "light grease on the extractor fan" - totalling the exact amount of my deposit. Disputed with the Tenancy Deposit Scheme and magically they fail to provide evidence.Complete and utter scam artists, avoid at ALL cost.

TrustpilotI offered on a property which was…
I offered on a property which was accepted & then heard nothing for ages kept chasing with calls & emails which went unanswered. Eventually had correspondence from them & paid £350 for legal fees. A month later I found out that the vendor wasn’t able to progress so I pulled out. Asked for my money back & was told I could only have it back if I purchased another property, paid £350 again & then once sale completed I’d get my original £350 refunded! This company is beyond belief.

TrustpilotPushing me to the edge
My Father died suddenly of a heart attack in December. Paid half of his rent for the month from his hospital bed the day before he died which you kept. Now more than 4 months later you still have his bond and are charging him rent. How can you continue to charge a dead man rent? You even sent me, his daughter, a bill for his empty mail to be cleaned from his doorstep - making sure to include the most heart wrenching photos. The landlord is not available for even you to get hold off. Initially you tried to charge me almost 2 grand for unknown costs, despite me never being a guarantor or listed anywhere on my Father's tenancy. Pay back the bond already and stop charging rent for an empty property and a dead man. When will enough be enough? Are you trying to push grieving relatives to the very edge? You're certainly succeeding.
