Stay away

Couldn't even view a property until I had seen their mortgage advisor despite having my own advisor and a very large deposit. They also asked to see my bank account for the deposit before even discussing things further. If you are selling go elsewhere if you are buying go elsewhere Please do not believe this is standard practice this is all about countrywide making money from you in as many ways as possible. It is the first thing they say on the phone we are part of the biggest estate agent company in the u.k. This is what happens when companies sell out to big corporates. Use local instead lost a sale out of me and could have completed quickly.

Beware........

Whether a buyer or a landlord with a tenant there really is no difference. They hide behind the company, their colleagues, their associates at Countrywide along with a list of tricks to assure you they are acting in your best interests including the hardsell of their financial advisor too. Disgraceful. Occasionally, you'll speak to someone who really sounds like they want to help you but then the buck is passed back and forwards. Seriously, avoid unless you are related to someone there who will guide you properly.

Our move to Wales ended up being a prolonged and stressful process and, throughout, we knew we could rely on the help and support given by all the staff. My brother had a terrible letting experience in Haverfordwest John Francis, They wasted his fours weeks continuing delaying the property till time . They have racist approach to him where they just continue delaying his house till time they have no communication with Landlords. The family is worried back in London for my brother. 100% stay awayy from them time wasters

Almost as if they don’t want to sell any properties???

Rang them weeks ago & left my contact details, as advised by the recorded message. No reply. Tried again today. Got a reply this time. But upon booking a viewing, I was told that they’d only arrange the viewing if I can prove I have a mortgage in place for the value. So they expect me to go through a mortgage application, which affects my credit score. During a time where rates are dropping regularly, so it’s best to hold off until you definitely need one. For a property that I haven’t even viewed yet, let alone decided I want to make an offer? Which leads to the next fact of no price agreed to even know an amount to borrow? What happens if I decide I don’t like the property? I would’ve gone through all that effort & lowered my credit rating for nothing. When I do finally find a new house & move out. I definitely won’t be selling my existing house through them. They won’t let hardly anyone view it, to be able to make any offers. No wonder the property I wanted to view has been on the market so long.

Bad, bad, bad.

Just changed to a different agent to sell our house because John Francis in Swansea have let us down so badly. Slow, inaccurate, unreliable, garbled, uncommunicative, discourteous. Not just our own experience either - two different estate agents for houses we were interested in buying remarked to us that John Francis were hard to get hold of and then didn't seem to know the situation with our property and gave them wrong information. So, so disappointed and wish we'd heeded the early warning signs months ago. I'd very strongly advise avoiding this agent at all costs.

Avoid like the plague

Absolutely terrible experience with these estate agents. Viewed a property and gave an offer. They made out that we were the only one's who had put in an offer and that it would most likely be accepted. We received no correspondence and whenever I called it would go straight to voicemail. When I finally got in contact with them they made up some excuse that they couldn't get hold of the owners of the property. This carried on for weeks and weeks. Eventually I found out from another person interested in the property that it had been sold to someone else. Avoid these estate agents like the plague. My time has been well and truly wasted!

Been trying to contact this company vai emails and phone calls over the last 2 weeks.no reply via emails,finally got through onced they'd switched they're answer phone off,and arranged a preliminary time for an viewing on the Wednesday,lady saying she would get back to me that day to confirm,no response,then had a call out pv the blue late on Friday saying that the time for the appointment had been changed,didn't know I had an appointment,as the appointment was for the next day,and had arranged other plans ,so had to cancel THEYRE appointment,had lots of dealings with estate agents and in my opinion this is the worst one I have come across.

Left waiting for an hour and a half to view a property

After calling to enquire about a property of interest I was deflected with an offer to view a "similar property" in the same area within the next hour. I quickly accepted and left work early making the 35min drive to the town. I arrived a few mins early and was greeted by another prospective viewer, we were both confused, it seems they double booked. I called up the agency after 10 mins of no show and couldn't get hold of anyone. I then waited and attempted to call again and again, eventually they informed me there had been a problem and could I wait 45 mins. I accepted went and got a coffee and viewed the initial property from the outside before heading back at the agreed time. Only to be told (after more unanswered phone calls) of even more delays and they would be with me shortly (spoilers: they weren't). Another half hour went by of being "just around the corner getting the keys" before the agent showed up. The property itself was in a terrible location and the agent even had the temerity to suggest we move forward with a holding fee for the property. Will not be using again.

John Francis estate agent. Pontardawe branch.Extremely unprofessional. I called on 18/04/2023 around 11.30am and booked a viewing for a 3 bed detached house for sale-Gorsafle, Ystradgynlais, Powys SA9, all details were taken name surname phone number email address home address etc, booked for 19/04/2023 at 4.30 pm, arrived 10 min early front of the above property I have waited until 4.45pm and no one from the agency arrived then I have called the branch after several calls they pick up the phone explained the situation and they told me that no viewing was booked and try to book me in for Friday 21/03/2023 and again took my details over the phone spelling my name 4 times and the lady keep asking me to repeat again and again and she never manages to confirm my name correctly, I travel 40 miles to view this property and spend time and petrol money. THIS IS Awful service but sadly expected, poor communication skills. Will not be recommending them to anyone.

Stay away from Haverfordwest branch

Myself and my partner were looking too sell our house and we also found a bungalow that we were interested in buying, we were put with Chloe from the Haverfordwest branch and when viewing the bungalow let’s just say that it was a good thing the owner was around so he could answer any questions we had whilst Chloe played with his dog, despite this myself and my partner loved the bungalow and after we viewed it and got home we decided to phone Chloe to put an offer in, as the branch was closing for new years we thought considering we didn’t hear back later that day that we would hear on Tuesday 3rd January when they open again, hours went passed and nothing, so we decided to phone her and ask if the owner had accepted or declined our offer to which she replied that he’s accepted a different offer from someone this morning and when asked about wether she even put across to him our offer she said no when we asked her why she didn’t have an answer to which my partner told her she’s lost a sale from us and lost the chance to sell our house and put the phone down! she was more interested in slagging off the Milford haven branch and making sure she was the one that was going to sell our house and not the Milford haven branch and didn’t have a clue what she was doing! Absolutely useless and incompetent and we will never go back to her
