GoogleLaura Pugh recently showed us a property in York and realised it wasn’t what we are looking for. On this she asked what we needed and got straight on the phone to the office and the owners of a nearby property (It was 15:15 on a Saturday and we needed to travel back to Nottingham) Alas she showed us our soon to be forever home at 16:15. Was so patient and knowledgeable showing us around pointing out not just the positives but also areas that would need improvement. By 18:30 she had used her persona to negotiate the deal between the owners myself and partner. She is a credit for Linley & Simpson if not estate agency 😀PositiveProfessionalism

Moved into a flat in sherburn after it had been "refurbished". New cupboards had been put in which apparently constitutes rent going from £575 to £775. I could only stay 3 months in the flat due to mould and such growing in the shower grouting and vents and electrics being completely broken behind walls creating a fire hazard. When I moved out they told me they'd be taking £175 out for "cleaning" and even more for repairs on the wall (with the mould). I asked what constituted the cleaning amount and they said it's because I didn't leave it in an acceptable state, specifically my parking space (an open space, no roof, where I kept a small motorbike). I really wouldn't recommend this company. Choose anyone else but this unless you want to be hundreds of pounds out of pocket.

Horrendous experience at the Headingley office.Rented a property and when the landlord removed the property from their care and went on their own this moronic company contacted all the utility companies to close our accounts, we lost our water, gas, electricity and council tax accounts as they emailed them all to say the property was empty even though the landlord had just changed the rental agency.They are completely clueless dimwits without two brain cells to divide between themselves and have caused us major hassle for no reason other than them being the most useless rental company I have ever had the misfortune of coming across.AVOID AT ALL COST

I honestly can't recommend these guys at all. First off we were delayed even putting the house on the market as the valuer believed the house to be ideal for him to purchase. Two weeks later and we were on the market after the valuer decided no. The reasons given we then repeatedly thrown up as blockers by other potential buyers. Second, we had to chase for any sort of update constantly throughout the process. Very little information was volunteered without pressure from us. Once we eventually agreed a sale (after a significant price reduction), our buyer went cold and when we asked multiple times for him to be chased so we could complete we were told no in case it made him pull out. For the sake of anyone else who uses Linley & Simpson, I hope we got the bad apples.
