Rented a flat in Swindon for 2.5 years, upon leaving the property Richard James tried to take over half our deposit because 'it wasn't clean enough'. We paid for a professional end of tenancy clean before departing and funnily enough, the cleaner warned me that Richard James try to rinse tenants of their deposit by claiming that it is not clean enough! We took our deposit to the TDS, and got back 60% of our deposit that way! Be careful with this estate agent when renting and be aware that they will probably try and take all your deposit off you when you leave...

We have rented with Richard James for over 4 years now . Due to our landlord selling the house we have had no option but to look for another rental property and the team have been nothing but helpful in supporting us through the process and also finding our next suitable property . We have two young children , one in the local school, so staying in the area was important to us . Rebecca Barrett in particular went above and beyond to help us , even while she was suppose to be enjoying some annual leave ! We are so great full of this. Callum Vernon has since been a great support when it comes to all of the admin involved with the new house ensuring we have all that we need. Thank you to all of the RJ team who were involved who I may not know by name, I will always recommend you all for anyone looking to rent/ buy / sell 😊

Connor Manuel was truly professional, gave the right details that I wanted and took time to give every bit of information. I know Estate Agents get a lot of flack and over the last two years we have tried so hard to move with limited houses for sale and a booming price market it has been extremely hard. We choose RJ as they are the main agent for Wroughton and boy do they know this place. I was so impressed with the personal and attentive service we reciibed both when selling and purchasing. Callum especially went above and beyond to find us our next home. They knew do much about what was coming up and what the true value of many houses were that I felt I completely trust their judgement. Where RJ really came into its own was once the sake was in and we were working with Sales Progresser Hayley. She offered us the most incredible service and made sure everything was being pushed through in all areas. This was invaluable especially atm with such a busy market. She was always available, polite and supportive. I truly believe if it weren't for her there is no way we would be in our new home. We didn't chose to go with Richard James for the sale of our house, but we certainly wish he had. We went with an online estate agent with absolutely ZERO after sales care. Hayley Walden in the Wroughton branch was our sellers after sales negotiator, she was great and chasing solicitors (mine, our sellers and even our buyers solicitors). Excellent friendly service from everyone I came into contact with at the Wroughton Office. In particular I would like to single out Hayley Walden who was superb in many ways, not only in terms of keeping us informed about what was going on and answering our queries, but also by being pro-active in following up and in responding quickly and in detail. House selling is nearly always a trying experience but having Hayley there at all times right up to Completion made a huge positive difference. Also the fact that she was always in contact with the buyers and their solicitors as well as ourselves throughout the whole process meant that we were far better informed about what was happening than if we had to just rely on dealing with our solicitors. Plus everything done in a cheerful and positive manner. Invaluable. Well done Hayley.

Extremely poor experience with Richard James (North Swindon). As a landlord, I experienced repeated mismanagement, lack of communication, unauthorised decisions, and unresolved maintenance issues that caused both financial loss and significant stress. I went thought the official (in house complaint process) and now have an open case with the Property Ombudsman. I would strongly caution others to avoid entrusting their property to this branch.

Not transparent with information. A simple query like - the vendor has done modifications, have they got any approvals or planning permission in place is not answered. The buyer just gets told that "Your Solicitors will need to find it out". So basically they are expecting the buyer to pay money to solicitors and find this out almost two months in the sale. Ridiculous!!
