I did some research into the Home for Life Plan as wanted to free up some funds to some work on my house to help my son with a house deposit. We are not planning to move currently, so it is not the right option for me. The person I spoke to was very helpful and talked me through the whole concept. I have to say I had no idea that there was such a clever solution available to help people release funds, keep a financial share in the property and secure a home for life. I felt I had to write a review because the company and product really impressed me.

My friend moved to Portugal about 10 years ago, but last year decided they wanted to come back and found that their property wasn’t worth anywhere near what they thought it would be. They’re both retired and live off their pension so I did a bit of research to find out if there was anything that could help and found Homewise. My friend called them to find out more. The Home for Life Plan gave them the lifeline they needed and in January they’re moving back to the UK.

With the price of everything going up so much I want to move somewhere easier to manage and less expensive to run, maybe a new build. I’ve found a few properties while searching, but they’re all more than I can afford. A friend of mine moved with Homewise a couple of years ago and when I told them about my problem they recommended it, saying it was the best decision they’d made. I did some research and called them straight away. They helped me to find a really nice new build that doesn’t need any work doing, which is a huge relief. Thank you, Homewise.

I retire in a few years, and I know that my pension pot isn’t quite as big as I’d like so I’ll probably have to downsize to cut costs, it would also be great to have some money put by. I got a letter from Homewise and initially it seemed like it was too good to be true, but then I called them. They explained everything about their Home for Life Plan to me and knowing that there is something available for me when I’m ready to retire is actually quite reassuring.

We used this service for our parents, who were still in the family home which was too big for just the two of them, and they still had some mortgage left, which none of us were in a position to pay off. We talked everything through with them, and they included us all, explaining the lease info and it seemed a logical step for mum and dad. They could sell the house, pay off the mortgage, move nearer to us and have a bit of money put by. We took our time as a family to look for options, but we can honestly say this has worked out perfectly for the whole family and we couldn't be happier. Thanks for all your help!

I researched the Homewise option way before my 60th birthday because my personal circumstances reduced my retirement saving target when I was medically retired. As I have no blood relatives Homewise is the perfect solution for me and I am now living in a bungalow I would not have been able to afford had I used my savings in the traditional way. From day 1 I felt totally supported every step of the way and the whole timeline of finding a property to actually moving in was and felt totally controlled and supported. If the Homewise process fits your circumstances and you enter the process with your eyes open and fully informed it is an excellent way to find your retirement dream home. Do your homework and be sure you understand the implications of what you are doing and it’s an excellent option.

GoogleOur whole experience with Homewise was wonderful. We have a beautiful bungalow and a super nest egg to cushion our future. Every week I spoke with Samuel Stevens my rock. Always cheerful, always consoling when things went wrong. I shall miss my chats with him. Also Rhoda a calming and lovely lady. They were with us every step of the way.

GoogleHow unfair is this, listing homes for over 60's with huge discounts. what about first time buyers struggling to get on the property ladder. If this was for under 60's there would be an outrage ad would probably be illegal. Need to stop listing properties on Right Move and other similar sites, Create your own site with the properties you have listed !!

We help people aged 60+ find their next home at a discounted price as you’ve seen, this is by offering them a lifetime lease on the property. Loans, mortgages and help to buy schemes aren’t readily available to the older generations and so we help people in this situation find a property they want to live in and boost their budget with the Home for Life Plan discount. Like any estate agent, we don’t own the properties listed online we simply advertise these for vendors and any property with our advert can still be purchased without the Home for Life Plan through the local agent at the full market value, the details are in the online listings. You can always filter your search results to not show retirement properties and that will mean our discounted listings do not show. Put simply, we’re offering an alternative option to those who cannot afford a new home or fund their retirement without our support. GoogleMy elderly in-laws have been looking for a property closer to us and with somewhat limited budget they didn't have too many options. My partner came across Homewise listing on Rightmove and we called up to find out how does the plan work. We arranged for Homewise to also speak to my in-laws in the meantime and they were pleasantly surprised how kind and patient the customer representative was.

I used there lifetime lease calculator but when I spoke to them it easy going to cost us another £12000 because it was a retirement flat so I didn't go ahead with it

GoogleI called these guys to discuss their product on behalf of my mum. I don't think it's for us but I was impressed that they were so clear and factual about what they were offering. If you expect them to be a social charity to give you free money to buy a lovely house you will be very disappoinred but if you approach this on the basis that you are dealing with a for-profit business, it will make a lot of sense for some people to get the home they want and more importantly security to live there long term. Even though this isn't for us, I wouldn't give it 1 star as some have because they are pretty up front about what they offer. I suspect people who have left very low review scores approached this service with unrealistic expectations.
