We are residents of the Egstow Park site in Clay Cross Chesterfield and I cannot praise the sales and site team enough! From the onset we have had great customer service. As second time buyers we were expecting a few snags as this is expected of new builds but after only having a few the teams at Egstow Park were great at rectifying our issues and have always been at hand when needed. Egstow Park is a lovely site and your teams here are first class. Thanks for a lovely home and great service.

Everything fine but 1 thing unacceptable

Staff of St Modwen Homes that we have been in contact were nice & helpful so far. They helped with all issues we raised including snagging & discrepancies. However, downside was they had my name spelled wrong all the way from day 1 when we firstly reserved the house until today (9 months later & we have moved in for some time) I received this review invitation.This affected my NHBC policy as well, which was very troublesome.TBH, such low level mistake shouldn't be made in big deals like selling a house!

I think they did used to be good.. until they weren't

I think they did used to be good... but then they got greedy. Still waiting for snags to be sorted 2 years later. I put in an official complaint, never had a reply. Never been able to flush my downstairs loo properly as it has been blocked since we moved in. Our garden had no grass when we moved in and then they laid it terribly so spent thousands doing it ourselves. We had our ceilings cut through due to gammy installed shower, back gate installed wrong and we couldn't open it for over a year, the list goes on. Getting things fixed is full of false promises and still waiting 2 years later...

Finding our dream home.

We moved into our home 5th Jan 2022.From finding our dream home to our sign off and checks.we were looked after listened to and taken care of.Julie in the sales office is very knowledgeable helpful and supportive she talked us through everything.Gemma and Stuart the site managers, talked us through all aspects of our new home inside, and out. They were thorough and understanding, their knowledge was good and really this really helped us whilst we settled in.

Terrible

Great sales process with St Modwen however since moving in I have had nonstop problems with the quality of the house. The build quality is truly shocking. The customer service team do not get back to you in regards to your problems with the house. I have sent over 30 emails in regards to one particular snag and am still no closer to getting it sorted. In 6 months I have had over 80 problems. I would not recommend St Modwen to anyone.

I wanted to buy one of the 5 bed homes…

I wanted to buy one of the 5 bed homes since jul 22 at the copthorne new build site. The staff kept telling me to check the websites as any new releases are put on website.They never put the 5 bed on the website instead they sold them to their preferred buyers The staff kept misguiding me for 4 months and giving me false hope till all the 5 bed were sold I called them about 10-15 times in that duration I am really appalled by the behaviour

End of my tether

I am at the end of my tether with this housebuilder. Its been nearly 2 years since the cladding started coming loose off the front of my new build house and falling from a high height. Fortunately the cladding hasn't hit anyone yet. This is a major safety concern as it could cause serious injury. They sent a tradesman (sorry a cowboy) who came round over a month ago and stuck new bits of cladding back onto the wall and he left a mess of cement all over my pathway. Despite contacting st modwen they just do not seem to care.

I purchased my first new home with St Modwen's Longbridge development following an early bird reservation in 2021. My sales advisor throughout the process has been Aaron who has been very helpful and highly knowledgeable in completing the transaction successfully.Aaron sent regular build updates, gave helpful advice on choices and ancillary queries. Really impressed with the overall finish of my plot, the exterior of the apartment building looks fantastic! There have been a couple of snagging issues (to be expected with the size and number of properties to get through.)I have been quickly directed to Andy Leonard the site manager. Andy has also been very professional and skilled in addressing matters in a timely manner and answering questions. Really good knowledge from the team overall, very evident they are experienced with new property sales! Good group of staff who have helped make what can be a very stressful experience, less than stressful that need be! We will probably invest further in St Modwen properties in the near future.Thanks again St Modwen team!

Easy purchase, poor aftercare

Buying the house was a relatively easy process.Site team were good for the first couple of weeks however, as soon as they hand you off to the customer service team it all goes down hill. After almost 2 years of chasing, I still have outstanding snags that were reported on move in week. Customer service have repeatedly “booked” contractors/technicians to visit however on numerous occasions the have not shown up.

Cannot recommend them enough!

I recently purchased a home with St Modwen at Austin view in Longbridge. Everything from start to finish has been absolutely brilliant and I cannot recommend the team here enough based on the experience that we have had. Aaron who sold us the property was absolutely excellent he knew so much about the area and was passionate about what he was selling which is why we were so eager to purchase one of the apartments. His customer service has been 2nd to non. He has insured we have a smooth process from start to finish and any small issues that have come up along the way (non of these being a fault of St Modwen), he is rectified very quickly for us and really put our needs first! Purchasing with St modwen it is the first time that we have purchased a home together and I can honestly say that the experience we have had has been completely stressfree and full of excitement and that is all because of the support that we have had. Even once we moved in everything went really smoothly with the handover of the keys and everything afterwards. The team on site have been a great help whenever we have had questions or needed anything and they genuinely have gone above and beyond to make this the best experience. The care for their customers doesn’t stop when the keys are handed over at completion - they continue to support us even now when we need them. Could not recommend them more! We will definitely be using St Modwen again when we look to buy our next home.

Poor standard fittings

Fixtures and fittings designed to last 2 years and 20 minutes so just out of warranty when you contact them. One plus point from having to replace my front door is I can choose the colour. Pink with yellow spots will be in keeping with the houses being built on the development.
