Poor at best

I used the Birmingham office based in Edgbaston.Everything started off okay, got intial paperwork etc sorted quickly. It was quite hard getting in touch with our appointed solicitor for an update but when we did he seemed to get on with it. Imagine my surprise when about 12 weeks later we asked about a completion date and were told that nothing had been done on the sale yet as no one had been in touch with him. He had completely neglected to ask us or the estate agents to chase up even though he admitted that he'd expect to hear from the buyers side within two weeks of starting the process!All in all the process took 8 months to sell a flat to a first time buyer and purchase an empty house. Messaging was I consistent and the solicitor seemed unable to remember any info about our case, eventually he tried to stop answering calls and sent us irritated emails saying that we were likely to lose the house.All in all, extremely poor service and I regret using this firm, a car crash would have been a more enjoyable experience.

STAY AWAY!

Awful firm. The developer implied we had to use Davisons and it has been the worst experience of buying or selling a house I have had.Not only was the communication terrible all the way through, the checks were seemingly not carried out as we thought we were sold a plot of land that was not the case. Because of this, they tried to say Land Reg was backed up and thats why we never recived our titles, although they chap that bought our house had recieved his months ago.Upon putting in a complaint about this 5-6 weeks ago I still have no reply from them to address this.DO NOT USE.....! AWFUL COMPANY

Ketan Dutt at the Edgbaston office was brilliant throughout our whole moving house process. He was always very speedy and efficient, and gave us very little to worry about. Only frustration was that there was some detail missed about our help to buy isa bonus which meant we ended up missing out on some money we thought we would have, and found out quite late. Otherwise great, worth the money for how stress free Ketan made everything. 100% recommend.

Samantha Ingram and her team have been absolutely shocking and I feel sorry for your client. Shockingly incompetent, avoid at all costs

Where to even start with this firm, recently completed the purchase of my first property and they where absolute hell to deal with! Never updated me on any progression of my purchase, i was having to CONSTANTLY chase this up myself and sometimes I wouldn’t receive replies for days, the only time they would be on the ball contacting me is when they wanted money from me.They would never answer the phone or call you back etc which made the entire purchase of the property extremely stressful given the trust and money I gave them..Upon “completing” and paying my final charges to this company, out the blue my “solicitor” comes back to me and slaps me with another £240 charge demanding I pay it as it was needed for the land registry certificate, I asked how this was possible as my business with them had already finished and I had paid my final statement, they couldn’t give me an answer.. they just kept telling me it was fairly basic stuff, if it’s that basic how did they forget to inform me of it in the first place! You wouldn’t buy a car from a dealership and then 2 months later they come on to you demanding money for the wheels! I paid this as they were refusing to help me get the land registry certificate sorted out otherwise, and then made them put it in writing that this was the end of my business with them and there would be no more payments.There was no transparency, no communication, no trust able to be built up what so ever I would honestly avoid this company like the plague.Please please please do yourself a favour and pay a bit more to go with a half decent company, because these guys WILL bring you to breaking point and none of them have a clue what they are doing! Lesson learnt

Do not use.

If I could give 0 stars I would it was that bad. The service I have received was very poor. This was my first time buying a property and the experience was so stressful.No one updated me I had to keep chasing. My documents was lost twice. Charges was added to me without being explained. I had a phone call the day before I was getting my keys and was advised there’s and extra £35 to be paid. Not happy at all.

Horrible communication - Definitely not recommended

When reading other reviews website, most of the reviews were positive. I thought Trustpilot was not reflecting the truth.Actually it did. The communication with QualitySolicitors Lockings was really poor. We were never able to contact them by phone, and they were answering their emails only between 1630 and 1700.Good luck if you decide to go with them. In our case, we will not make the same mistake twice, we will go with a local solicitor next time.

Useless, avoid at every cost.

Mr Chaloner is a man who lacks simple communication skills, when asked any question he seems to avoid providing an answer and diverts onto a different subject. Barwells has been used by the family for a lifetime, but yet we cannot help but feel that Mr Chaloner sides with everyone else but ourselves, even though we are the ones paying for the service. We have a simple set up where we own the freehold for a piece of land, and the current tenant wanted to purchase it. Mr Chaloner failed to reach any sort of conclusion on what we should do with the land that is in our best interests, he is always trying to find the 'quick fix' rather than the long term solution, he doesn't even keep us up to date with what the situation is. Mr Chaloner fails to collect the outstanding land rental, and we regularly find that it is us telling him how to do his job, and he acts surprised when we bring up a law that should be challenged. I cannot recommend Mr Chaloner less, he is incompetent and very unprofessional.

Edgbaston branch got contracts exchanged and completion done on my first house within 2 weeks from mortgage offer. Started off not so great as constantly had to chase but when I addressed this they were fantastic. 1 star knocked off due to having to chase in the first instance as I was paying more to have them as my solicitors but over all a pleasure. Information requests, updates, phone calls have all been dealt with speedily. All I will say if you are going to deal with Davison’s ask for Al Nijar or Hayley Tully and you will receive nothing but great service.
