Tilia Homes that has morphed from Kier Developments have failed to respond in a timely manner to my solicitor requesting vital information to enable me to sell my property, along with their appointed Solicitors Roythornes they have repeatedly ignored our emails and calls and are now seriously hindering a successful sale. The situation is totally unacceptable and falls below expected professional standards.

Wouldn't buy off Tila again!

Wouldn't buy off Tila again nor would I ever recommend to anyone else! We have had numerous issues with our new house, the latest one being a gas leak after reporting the smell numerous times and being told there is nothing wrong by tilia workers eon come out today and within 5 minutes of being in the property told us it was dangerous! We waited months after the original date to get out house the build quality is poor everything is done cheaply, the wrong flooring was put in, we have had the worst first house experience and are now stuck in this house which we hate! Shoddy work, poor customer service, over priced

Castle Croft - Think Hard

After a wait of nearly two years, following lies, having to constantly chase for updates, and being completely fobbed off ( at least until Heidi arrived, what a breath of fresh air! ), we moved into our house at the beginning of December. It might not have been in the style we bought, it might be missing certain things ( a wardrobe, now a paid upgrade ), and parts of it have tried to kill me ( seriously, the double garage doors are a danger, which Tilia are aware of, but choosing to ignore, until someone is seriously injured, or worse, I suppose ) but we’re in. Yes, there were issues, but the guys on site - Mike & Andy - have done their upmost to get things sorted. Following Storm Malik at the end of January, we lost the trim from our roof. Having looked it at, I’m amazed it lasted as long as it had. Batons were missing ( I have all the pieces, so it’s fairly obvious ) so the trim had been held in place by luck, and in other places, the batons weren’t fixed to anything ( the screws in the batons that fell off are completely clean, a good indication they were screwed into thin air ). According to Tilia’s management, this was caused by the storm, rather than shoddy contractors. And if it had been due to their workmanship, we should have reported it. Oddly, there are quite a few other houses, all built around the same time, with similar damage. The moral seems to be, if buying a house from Tilia is your only option, have it thoroughly inspected, even the bits you can’t get at, or see. 10/10 for the sales and site teams ( and Louise from customer care )0/10 for Tilia management.

We stumbled across Tilia and their site in Leyland, The Pastures. Annie and Eugene have been fantastic taking us through the process, talking through options and helping us secure a beautiful plot on the site. Throughout they’ve paid attention to what we’ve needed and engaged with our young children, making them feel part of the process as well. Couldn’t be happier with the journey so far and everything they’ve both done to get us to this point.

Horrible company

Horrible company, damaged our property including slabs and smashed one of our patio windows. They refuse to take responsibility. We have friends that have purchased houses from them and they refuse to correct any issues. Once they have your money they go missing and don't respond to messages or emails STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY IF YOUR PURCHASING A HOME, YOU WILL 100% REGRET YOUR DECISION!!!

Almost three years on and we are still waiting for our snagging list to be completed. Our snagging list was endless and nearly all repairs to date have resulted in further work being created or more mess being left. Customer services are non existent. They do not reply to emails and are both rude and completely incompetent. Tilia should be ashamed. Do not buy a house from this builder unless you to would enjoy years of chasing for work to be finished and having to deal with the most incompetent customer service team that half the time doesn’t even reply to you. For your own sanity, please, please avoid!

Rip off, breach of contract and garden left in a dangerous state.

Over two years (3 summers) I’ve been fobbed off by head office to come and sort a garden, that was paid for at point of contract to be turfed. Inadequate preparation, non compliant with nhbc minimum standard and still they keep making excuses to “investigate” - I’ve literally got breeze blocks sticking out the garden, and there own workman dug up a huge brick - yet still requires investigation.

Very disappointing experience

The overall experience has been extremely stressful. Started off with awful customer service from the sales team. Endless issues once house purchased and moved in. Had a boiler leak on first week we moved in, plumbers who came to fix it said whoever fitted the boiler needed to be struck off it was that dangerous. Road on the estate is full of trenches which were left despite complaints. We then damaged our car whilst driving over one and Tilia refused any liability despite us sending evidence. House also not built to plans so front canopy (which is an eyesore) has to be replaced (have been told this will be replaced but have been waiting a while). Garden has also been unusable due to boggy grass & no drainage which was an issue we brought up prior to purchase but was fobbed off. (Update - drainage has now been installed). House had endless snags when we moved in. Holes drilled in doors and left, skirting boards damaged badly and left, doors not painted, patio doors not working. If you are thinking of purchasing of home from Tilia please be wary.

Over half a year in my house...

After being in my house for over half a year now (Castle Croft Barnard Castle) I can say that I love it here. :)I had some snagging issues (which was to be expected) but they were all done in a timely manner. You just have to keep asking and they get done. Greg the site manager was awesome and very helpful. Everyone on site has been fantastic and all the workers are so friendly. Also Customer Care have been great. I love my home, the area is lovely and it's very quiet. I look forward to all the building around being complete so the street can be finished as the place is still a building site.

Does anyone work here?

We are looking for a new build in the area so are contacting all the companies building developments. We have phoned and emailed Tilia homes numerous times but heard nothing back. We even tried head office. All calls go to an answer message, we leave our details but NOTHING! Emails ….. NOTHING!If this is pre-sales I dread to think what post-sales service will be like. I think we will stick with the amazing service we have received so far from the other local companies.

Overall we have been very pleased

Overall we have been very pleased with the quality of the new house, the high standard of workmanship and the excellent level of support following the very few snags that have surfaced after moving in. Particular praise goes to Rafal - he has been meticulous in the care that he has taken with the repairs. The only criticism we would make relates to the poor ground preparation before turf laying and the slow landscaping after estate completion - but this is not enough to reduce the overall 5 stars.Postscript after a further 6 months. Still very happy with the house but even more unhappy with groundworks. Play area is almost a year late in opening and trees in public spaces have been planted at the start of the summer then left to die in the heat and dry weather. The company needs to get a grip and realise that plants shoul be moved in the autumn to allow roots to settle and then monitor them for water needs during their first year.
