Very disappointing and frustrating experience. Communication has been extremely poor, responses are slow, and every time a different staff member replies, so we constantly have to repeat the same information. Before signing the tenancy, we were clearly given written confirmation that curtains would be installed in one of the rooms. We relied on this when making our decision to rent the property. However, two months after moving in, nothing has been done, and we have now been told that the landlord will not provide them at all. Even more concerning, we were then told that if we want curtains, we should arrange and pay for them ourselves, despite this being something that was originally promised to be provided. This creates a serious lack of trust, as commitments made before signing were not honoured afterwards. We are currently living with large uncovered windows and no privacy, which is unacceptable. Overall, the service has been unreliable and unprofessional. I would not recommend using this agency.

Eden is highly energized and heart-centered in her approach. She was such a fantastic support to us in seeking out a new family home in a new area. I enquired initially about a flat to rent in Winchester, Sarah emailed back swiftly and was so helpful finding the right flat for us; advising us that that flat was already in the process of being let and highly sought after, however she had an alternative we might like. She called me and explained everything in detail and even shared her WhatsApp with me so that she could send me a video tour, since we were 3hrs away! Sarah was personable, friendly and absolutely lovely. She answered all of my questions ridiculously quickly and made me feel so at ease, and we ended up going for the other flat that she had suggested! It was a bit of a nightmare trying to find somewhere to live in Winchester originally; however Sarah made it so smooth and easy and I have no doubt that even if there wasn't anything available at the time, then she would have done everything to collect my details etc so that she could contact us when something came up! Thank you Sarah and your team!

Originally placed on the market with A N Other Winchester estate agent November 2020. 11 Months of a few viewings and 1 poor offer. Switched too Charters Oct 2021 and had about 5 viewings and 2 serious offers within 2 weeks. Elle in the Winchester office and Jo in Southampton were superb. My mistake thinking that everyone just views via Rightmove, Zoopla etc. Charters sold my property and followed the sale through constantly. A different class of Estate Agent. 10/10

Brilliant from start to finish. Regular updates each week with a progress report on viewings and then our subsequent sale. From the very beginning Peter was so positive and gave us the confidence to go ahead with Charters Winchester. We didn’t bother asking anyone else as first impression was so encouraging. An offer on our property was accepted within 3 months and the after sales service with Jo continued with the professional knowledge we’d become accustomed to. Totally efficient, once again, weekly updates liaising with both solicitors acting for the sale. Charters Sales Team We're in the process of buying a house in Winchester having previously rented a property from Charters (see lettings review below), and dealing with their Sales team has been just as wonderfully straightforward as dealing with their Lettings team was. A huge and well-deserved shout-out goes to Jonny Gray, who from the beginning was so flexible and helpful (and so friendly!) organising viewings at such short notice for us. We had to take our rather lively 3 year old to all viewings and Jonny was so accommodating and tolerant and made the experience so easy for us. Our young daughter still references "that nice man from the new house!" The reason we were able to progress so quickly with our offer was solely down to Jonny, and now we're about to exchange contracts this week! Most recently we've been dealing with the Sales progression team and Jo Goddard is a total superstar with second-to-none communication skills and levels of efficiency I haven't seen before in all my working years. Charters are incredible and the best there is. Charters Lettings Team My experience with Charters Winchester has been exceptional, to say the least. Leaving London after 12 years is daunting, but when I first registered with the Charters Lettings team Kathryn called me and thoroughly went through all our requirements and I immediately knew that she really understood what we were looking for. That was confirmed the next day when she sent me a brochure for a property that wasn't live yet but soon would be. The property was perfect and ticked all our boxes. I was able to view it the following week and Gary who showed me around was wonderful! Pleased to say we now have our move-in date! (Gary even sent me a friendly WhatsApp on Easter Sunday to let me know our offer had been accepted). The administrative process for reference checks etc has been the most pain-free and easy - far more so than any of our rental experiences in London. Once our tenancy agreement has come to an end we'll be buying a house in Winchester and will come straight to Charters for that - their property portfolio looks so impressive!PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism
