GoogleBelgarum are proof that estate agents are not always rubbish!! This lot are tremendous, and I've dealt with many of them including the owner. These guys are awesome, and not just a few of them, all of them. I've dealt with a LOT of estate agencies and agents. NORMALLY, I find them to be really difficult to deal with, often dishonest, and terrible at following anything up. HOWEVER, the staff at Belgarum are a joy to deal with, do lots of hard work on your behalf, and seem to always know exactly whats going on. Unless you're extremely pro-active, they'll be ahead of you when it comes to the conveyancing process, and will go above and beyond to give you any advice, find you trades, surveyors, or other specialists. They're also just so friendly and understanding and non-judgemental. I can't shout enough praise. You will not regret instructing these agents, nor buying through them.

GoogleAfter more than a decade of renting various properties across the UK from both private owners and letting agencies I am eager to say that It is rather hard to find better service than what Belgarum offers. At every step of my journey with them, I have received excellent service, support and informative advice which left me - what is unusual in that business, with a positive feeling after my checkout. Contact with the office was always smooth, never had to wait more than a few hours for a reply to my emails and they even helped me to arrange white goods delivery and installation at some point. GoogleWhile Belgarum was very helpful and quick to get us into the property, our property management has been shocking. We have asked for the windows to be cleaned November last year when we moved in, this has never happened, even a year later. That same month we have asked for permission to fit a cat flap in, which took over 2 months (!) to be communicated, after seveal emails and phone calls of us, my poor cat was not able to go outside when she needed to. This didnt stop Belgarum to charge us extra 20 pounds for having a cat at the property. March last year we have notified them that the extractor fan in the bathroom is broken, it took them 10 months to get it fixed, while we struggled with mold (despite most effort to keep the window open but it is not easy in winter). The fence got damaged and we waited for nearly two months to hear this was not our landlord's responsibility to have it fixed. Lastly, we have been waiting for 3 weeks now to arrange a simple dishwasher repair. Despite our numerous emails and calls, all we hear is that due to covid everything takes longer...I would not recommend this agency.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

GoogleBelgarum have recently sold my late parents house in South Wonston, the process was sensitively and carefully managed by the experienced team in Winchester. The engagement proposition was calm and realistic, progress updates were regularly and appropriate, the style friendly, aware and positive. No ambiguity existed during the process and stands as a fine example of doing business with charm and no surprises. I would thoroughly recommend.

We’re genuinely sorry to receive this review as the team at Belgarum lettings prides itself on a very high standard of service at all times, regardless of whether we are dealing with a landlord or a tenant On this occasion, you chose to break the conditions of your tenancy agreement in order to take up an offer elsewhere. The decision was yours, based on your changing circumstances, and had nothing to do with Belgarum or your landlord. While I understand that paying a cancellation fee may be frustrating, this is only charged to cover the costs that the landlord incurs when re-letting the property. The object of a contract is to bind both parties in an agreement with the understanding that there are penalties incurred if this is broken. It is mutually beneficial to have a tenancy agreement and certainly, if your landlord had attempted to prematurely terminate your contract with no notice, you would rightly have expected some recompense. Our maintenance contractors are professionals and far from useless. They are also extremely competitively priced, but in instances where they are called to attend without good reason, they rightly make a fair charge for their time. Our fees are in line with the lettings market and our judgement is fair. You are right that our obligations are to our Landlord client, but we act within the strict governance of ARLA and Trading Standards to ensure fairness. Our aim is to run an efficient, effective and considerate business. We are disappointed that you have chosen to voice your opinion in this way and personally insult members of our valued team, as you have on more than one occasion. We do however wish you well in your new home.

GoogleVery friendly and helpful. Tell you what you have to give money wise in order to get ball rolling. Keep you informed of what is going on and if they need anything else. Make you feel welcomed and will help you if you having problems. Very welcoming and happy to help will let you do everything like signing the tenancy at the office. Are very patient and make sure you can afford it. In time when viewing and let you look around. Would highly recommend to others if you are looking for somewhere to rent.

GoogleA few years ago I sold a property ,I was delighted with the price achieved- and all other aspects of the sales process were faultless. As a result of my initial experience I then rented a property out via Belgarum ( I had previously let it out my self and had numerous problems with rent not being paid , when my last tenant left I faced a bill of over £13,000 for redecoration ) I can absolutely recommend Belgarum , I have not had any rent problems at all and Debbie and her helpful team make sure the property is properly maintained at a fair cost. GoogleI've rented my house out via Belgarum for the last 5 years and I can't recommend them highly enough - they've made life so much easier for me. Their monthly fee is reasonable and totally worth it to have them fully manage my property. My main point of contact (Debbie Wrigley) is really, really responsive and very knowledgeable, and I like the fact that if something needs fixing they have someone assess the situation first, rather than just call in the most expensive contractor or agency to fix it. They're collaborative and I'm involved in every big decision.

Belgarum acted as managing agents for a property of mine for several years. During that time the tenants changed several times - each time Belgarum found new tenants very quickly. Belgarum had to deal with water leaks, wasps, boilers breaking down, white goods being replaced, negligence on the part of the tenants - most of the issues that come up during the life of a property. I always found them extremely helpful, fast and proactive - I had absolute confidence that they were in control of the property and would respond to any issues that arose, and would communicate with me about anything I needed to know quickly and clearly. I have dealt with many managing agents in the past - both as a tenant and as a landlord. Belgarum are head and shoulders above the rest. I recommend them highly.

GoogleLike others have said... Fee’s are high. Hidden charges not mentioned. Slow to react to issues. Contradicting information in contract compared to emails. Poor workmanship provided by handy man (if that’s what he is). Stay clear........ Watch this space as this review might get worse!
Dear David, I am really concerned to read your review, and disappointed at the experience you have had, although our records indicate that you have not actually been a tenant or landlord of ours. Nevertheless you obviously have reason to feel aggrieved. I would like to stress that, in line with our obligations, all of our fees and charges are fully disclosed at the commencement of every tenancy, and in both of our office and on our website. There are no hidden fees. Additionally I don’t know which maintenance complaint you have had, but none of the contractors we use are our own employees, all are sourced externally and we continually review their quality and reliability. If you have had a substandard experience with them, I would really value your detailed feedback on this, and I would be happy to personally investigate any other difficulties you have had with my firm.
