We used Belgarum to sell our home and could not have asked for more. From the first moment I spoke with them they were polite and invested in helping us move. The valuation was given using not only rightmove (it seems every agent prints off the same stuff) but also their own experience and knowledge (which you can’t buy!). We were on the market for 10 days and had 20 viewings. All feedback was given without me having to chase them (huge when you think each viewing might be your sale!). They took all of the stress out of it for us. We agreed a sale to the right buyers at the right price (no rush for us to take the first offer, they made sure we got what we needed). All of that was brilliant but then you get introduced to their sales chaser Harriet, who was out of this world! Dealing not only with our sale but also doing everything she could to help with our purchase as well. (Even though it wasn’t through Belgarum). There was a couple of hick ups along the way (mainly from the person we were buying from) and Harriet dealt with all of it, even when she wasn’t around Paul then jumped in and made sure that the problems got solved and everything was communicated to our buyers. It’s been a crazy year considering wants been going on and I could not recommend Belgarum highly enough. Thank you!

Fantastic Estate Agents - easily the best in Winchester! Second time using them to buy a house and they were always available, friendly and played a really important role in getting our house purchase over the line (despite several obstacles along the way). I'm an NHS doctor moving to Winchester for work. I liked a property for renting advertised by this estate agent so I sent an email but didn't get any response. Then I finally decided to give them a call and they told me “can I have your name my colleague will call you back”. But still, no response for a few days, called them again and received the same response. Then my partner (British) contacted them about the same property and they took all his details and gave him an approx date for viewing the same property. This sort of racism from a company like this in THIS CENTURY is absurd!!

If you are selling, I hope your move goes smoothly. However, if you run into obstacles, my experience is that Belgarum excell at support during tricky times. My sale was theatened by issues with the chain on both sides but, thanks to the diligence and persistence of Vicky and Alex, exchange has now happened. Throughout the process, all the staff I had contact with were professional, helpful and friendly.

Don’t expect to have to chase an Estate Agent and this reflects badly on there reliability if I had appointed them. So lost my business / commission for sale.

An estate agent I would recommend everyone to avoid using it!1 Totally unprofessional and not living up their own values. On their website they stated their values are honesty, trust and integrity. Unfortunately, when we dealing with them twice, they do not live by it. 0ur first time when we were looking for a rental place to live , everything seems to be going fine until the day we suppose to collect the keys for the flat. On the day, they said the paperwork wasn’t in order and the landlord is delaying the process. We already arranged the home movers the next day. We kept pushing them to find the reason why the landlord was delaying the process. We were send home and promised it will be sort out the next day. Luckily, the next day after lot of stress, we managed to get the keys to the flat. However, a month later we found out from the landlord it wasn’t him that was delaying the process, but Belgarum. So until today we still don’t know what happened. Well, mistakes happened! We straight away were looking for our dream house and when we finally found our dream house a month later , we found out the estate agent was Belgarum. Well, this was buying and not letting , so it can’t be that difficult. Our mortgage was already been approved and it should be straightforward. We were so wrong, we submitted an initial offer, but to our amazing, they can’t even bother to come back. My wife keep chasing them and said at least come back with an answer. After 2 weeks , they finally said it was too low! So we submitted another offer and again we have to chase them again. Finally, after lot of chasing, they accepted the offer. So now is up to the solicitor to do their work. We know our solicitor will be very quick, however it was an old house and lot of searches needed to be carried out. But 6 weeks in we suddenly received a letter that we need to have the contract exchange by this date. But our solicitor was still awaiting documents. We told them , we were awaiting for the crucial documents. But more importantly their solicitor wasn’t really forthcoming and helpful. Then 2 weeks later we received another letter and they have informed us of a deadline. We knew their is no way we can have it exchange on that date, because their was lot of issues with the searches. We chase our solicitor, but he said he worked solidly on our case and documents weren’t complete. Then when the day arrived , my wife received a phone call from John the director of Belgarum that they withdraw the sales. We were gobsmacked, we were just waiting for the final documents. So we lost our dream home. But the we found out they have accepted a higher offer. Technically, they can do it, but morally and within their values , this is totally unacceptable. We have just received the keys from their competitor to our house last week. From accepting the offer to receiving the keys, it took us 2 months. Avoid this estate agent. Leon Li

I was shown around a property. and was very uncomfortably forced to put in an offer in order to have my queries answered. On a second more thorough visit, the agent either didn't know any information about the flat or gave me conflicting information. All around just unfriendly and felt very pressured to put in offers. After extensive research I chose Belgarum. After 3 Agents then visiting our house, they were the clear winner. - not the cheapest but very competitive. A local business owned by John Leeson, who was a refreshing change from the others - a warm genuine man who I feel told the facts without flannel! He runs a tight ship with everybody in the office knowing exactly what is happening. It is all done 'in house' which is not the case with all agents. When we had a major blip with our sale, his input was excellent. Normally I ignore requests for reviews, but this team deserve it!
