I recently had a terrible experience with Hawes & Co in Wimbledon Village. I was dealing with Janine in the Lettings team and everything was going great until she left. I was supposed to move in to a property however Hawes & Co never sent me the tenancy agreement to sign and still hadn’t sent it a month and a half later! They kept telling me they would send it and made up various excuses about the landlord not having an email address etc but I never received it and in the end I couldn’t wait any longer as me and my child needed to move out of our current place so I asked them to return my deposit and they refused (even though this was their fault and they’d never sent me the tenancy)! I’ve tried raising a formal complaint but had no response and everyone I’ve tried to reach out to is now ignoring my calls and messages.

Stephen, Robert, and the sales team were very patient and courteous during a rather long and tedious house purchase process. The team was always at hand, was very accommodating with viewings and arranging access to the property, and promptly coordinated communications between both parties and solicitors. In what otherwise tends to be a very opaque process, the Hawes and Co. team ensured we weren't left in the dark.

Recently, we had Hawes of Wimbledon village as our agent to sell our property. As overseas residents not that familiar with the sale process in the U.K, we needed a good agent to help us. John Maccao, senior negotiator was our initial contact, and he provided guidance and valuation, and did all the arrangements to get the property to the market quickly. They arranged many viewings and found a buyer fairly quickly, and Associate Director Malcolm Gee helped us to complete the sale without problems. In our dealings, those at the Wimbledon village office were friendly, reasonable and helpful, and understood our needs well and acted very professionally. Despite the insecurity and doubts over the economy around a a Brexit, we have finally sold our five bedroom house in Wimbledon Village. This was achieved by dogged marketing and realistic advice from Hawes & Co. The human touch of Nick Elliot and John Macco from their Wimbledon Village branch helped us when the economic outlook was rather disheartening. We flirted with other agents over the selling period, but found Hawes local knowledge invaluable. Sometimes going local and personal is the better thing to do to achieve a sale.

We bought a flat through Hawes and Co in Wimbledon Village many years ago and have used them to subsequently rent out the flat and provide a full management service. They have been an absolute pleasure to work with - professional, friendly, and helpful and in fact, nothing is ever too much trouble. Most especially though, they are really friendly and we so enjoy working with John, Nicola, Emily, Charlie and so many more. They have always found outstanding tenants for us and managed their tenancy with a full management package. Not only have they done that, but they have been very open with sharing their fabulous contractors and recommending any service required to facilitate the very stressful home purchasing and renting process. I could not recommend them highly enough.
