GoogleStephen Ashby guided me very patiently through the seemingly endless process of purchasing a flat here in England, so different from the slicker Scottish system. When my husband died before the process was complete, his genuine kindness and calm support made it possible for me to carry on with the purchase alone. He was always easy to contact and smoothed over my occasional problems with the seller with great expertise. I am very grateful and would readily recommend the Agency.

GoogleStephen Ashby kindly agreed to visit to my new home in Wimbledon when I asked him for a valuation. I’d only owned my flat for 16 months, and I had bought it through another estate agent, so I was touched that someone from Hawes & Co agreed to a free valuation. Stephen showed up with a very useful and detailed market appraisal report, and he suggested I give him a guided tour of my two-bedroom flat, balcony and shared garden before he gave me advice on letting and/or selling the property. I was really impressed by his kind and candid manner; he was a good listener, and he quickly tuned into my thoughts about my short- and long-term plans. He didn’t try coaxing me into selling or letting my property through Hawes & Co, but rather encouraged me to get in touch if and when I had any more questions or felt that the time was right for me to leave Wimbledon for family or work purposes. I felt confident in Stephen’s valuation of my flat - it was clear that his tremendous experience in this area enabled him to give a reliable assessment of the value of my property. He gave me some sound advice which I hadn’t considered before. When I first visited the Hawes & Co office to ask for a valuation, and when I later popped into the same office with a thank you card for Stephen, I spoke with other agents who were equally kind and helpful. I felt like there was a good sense of mutual trust and support. Thank you, Hawes & Co!

GoogleOur house sale was a far from straightforward exercise - twice our buyer had to pull out and it was only on the third attempt that the sale finally went through. Our agent, Stephen Ashby, was cool, calm and collected throughout the whole process, keeping us informed and dealing very patiently with our occasional moments of hysteria.
