Foxtons wrongly extended our tenancy end date then withheld our deposit on non payment of rent grounds. Even after acknowledging their 'error' it took 2 months for them to correct it. The money was only returned after a letter before action for a small claims court was sent. Other customers are advised to exercise extreme caution with how deposits are safeguarded.

I was spoken to quite rudely on the phone with agents pushing for an earlier viewing or just scheduling a viewing without asking for availabilities. I have told agents multiple times to stop calling me but this was not heard. I even removed my information from the portal and noted that I am no longer looking for a property. I still receive 3-4 calls a day whilst informing them that I do not want to rent through them.

Just to share my experience and warn anybody thinking of using Foxtons letting services. Foxtons will be vey happy to take full year commission in advance but if your tenant moves out before the full year period, Foxtons will not refund your commission in cash but just leave the amount as a credit in your account even you no longer have the intention to rent out your property. Area director of Foxtons claimed that this is in line with Foxtons terms of business. Beware before you choose Foxtons letting services.

I truly do not understand who in their right mind has ever rated Foxtons 5 stars. Unfortunately I have been in contact with them at multiple occasions but I am happy to say that today was the last. They arrange viewings for properties that has already been let, WHY not cancel if anything happened between the time of booking and the viewing actually taking place. This seems to be a common occurrence for Foxtons. Other than that, the agents are the rudest human beings I have ever spoken to. Surely I’ve not been unfortunate enough to have come across the ONLY employees at Foxtons that hate their jobs so this seems to be a big issue over there. When calling it seems as though you just ruined their entire day. I’m SORRY I was interested in the properties you have listed, that by the way isn’t even available. If calls like these are a displeasure to the agents I would suggest removing the ads.

GoogleWe used to rent our house through Maide Vale Foxtons and were always very happy with their service. Then we decided to sell and again Maide Vale Foxtons and specially Changyi Liu and her colleagues have been excellent through out the process. Very professional, excellent at communicating and keeping me updated . Very caring for both the Seller and the buyer ,always making sure things were on track. We as a family are very grateful for what they achieved for us and would highly recommend Changyi Liu ,the sales team and Maide Vale branch.(North family)

I had my property up for sale with Foxtons, an offer collapsed, and so I decided to consider rental. After I spoke to the rental department, they took a renter into my property without my permission, hadn't even signed a contract. Luckily, the person liked it and offered a good rent. The agent lied to the renter and me, messed up three contracts, so by the time he signed the fourth contract on my behalf, the renter had been in my flat for 10 days. Lucky he signed! He told me that I could not protect the deposit...lie. He told me that the second 6-month rent payment would be paid on the fourth month...lie. And it was not paid in advance on the 5th month like every other agent; the tenant is now late with the second 6-month payment. I complained to the manager, but he ignored my complaints. The whole office is corrupt. Really, do yourself a favour, there are good letting agents out there, Foxtons is not one of them.

Foxtons Review0 Stars is not an option but for Foxtons they should make an exception.This is one of the worst companies I've ever had to deal with. Every person we've had to deal with came across as ignorant, lazy, or incompetent.They let an uninhabitable property without doing a proper inspection or going on site themselves. They claim they did but...When we got there, the flat hadn't been thoroughly cleaned, the hot water does not work, there is almost no water pressure, the smoke detector was not functional, the kitchen curtains are a fire hazard, there is mold in the flat, the shower doesn't work, and the toilet had been replaced but improperly installed. None of this matched the pictures posted by Foxton's website and was completely misrepresented.They also use underhanded and high pressure tactics to try and close the deal and did not explain our rights and options for a contract. They care purely about volume of customers not about quality of listings or level of service they provide after a deal.They will not respond to emails or phone you back. You will have to repeatedly call just to get through, only to have them fob you off with some excuse or pass you on to someone else. We've had contact with at least 7 people on their side and exactly one of them did what they said they would do.From a dedicated maintenance "professional" who doesn't know how to schedule and does not follow up to ensure the job was completed to a senior property manager that I wouldn't trust to oversee a dollhouse who constantly "delegates" but doesn't take accountability or follow up when there has been no reply for days from their representative, anyone we dealt with was a complete nightmare.When I read articles like "Foxtons has come under fire after a couple found their estate agent had signed them up to lease the wrong property" or "Foxtons charged us £4,000 to find totally unsuitable tenants", I can only think to myself; that sounds like them.If you are forced to deal with them, God help you, since nobody from Foxtons will.

New Cross Gate letting office is appalling. I had a misfortune to invite them a few years back for valuation and then when changed my mind, asked them to delete me from their database as wasn't planning to do anything with my house. And guess what every year I am receiving unsolicited calls inquiring about valuation, letting, selling. They promise to delete my number every time they call once every half a year in average, pathetic.

The worst experience I had renting out an apartment throughout my life!Worked with Olivia Taylor as an apartment manager. Discovered the problem upon moving to the apartment and used my Right to Unwind to terminate the contract. Upon discovery of the problem, Foxton side became completely unresponsive and not willing to find a resolution. Olivia Taylor was unable to respond to emails within 7 days of disputes and twice failing suggested 3 day to respond timeline. Her response over WhatsApp was: "I’m not in the office so when I am available to do so I can put it in an email. ..., I just haven’t had a chance to put it in writing". And she didn't have time to respond for 7 days straight.They even failed to pass the information to the landlord they were representing. Only when I reached out to the landlord directly, we were able to quickly find a resolution, while Foxton's were the blocker all this time.Suggest avoiding them at all costs!

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!! Do yourself a favor and headache and stay away. I wish I listened to the other reviews. Hands down the worst rental company I have ever dealt with. Do not rent from this company. I dealt with Lydia as the rental agent and non stop contact until I signed and they had my money and crickets after that. As it I rented a short term unit, she refused me to see the apartment prior and when I showed up on day one of my rental it was listed completely wrong to what I signed. I was beyond disappointed, and trying to solve that matter was a joke and offering me £150 to say sorry on a £10,000 3 month rental - I said that was not acceptable and they gave me £350 final offer or I would have to find a new place. Don’t expect to get your damage deposit back, I received half of mine yet left the apartment exactly how I found it with zero issues.
