From the get go the level of communication was fantastic, this was consistent throughout! Tanya was amazing and would alway keep me informed of the goings on. As did Kim, Sally, Luke and Lewis. Br Careful With Leaseholds

Considering all the excellent reviews on here, I'm surprised by what has happened to me. I called this EA a few months ago to enquire about some flats in Warminster, and I was told they had new 125 year leases with 0 ground rent. I also asked if they were suitable to buy to live in (not rent to buy). They assured me this was fine. I viewed a flat and my offer was accepted, but just before getting solicitors involved, I sent a list of important questions to double check. One of these questions was about when the tenant was due to leave. I was shocked to be told that they'd be there for another 9 months. They apologised that nobody had told me and suggested I view a different flat in the same block, whose tenants were leaving this summer. Despite my reservations, I agreed to view a different flat, and liking it, put in an offer, which was accepted. I again submitted a list of questions and was reassured. I then instructed my solicitors, and paid for a level 2 survey and for the services of my mortgage advisor. A few weeks later, my solicitor discovered that the lease was not new but was from 2007 and there was a ground rent of £200 a year, which would increase. To cut a long story short, I discovered I had been misinformed about many aspects of the flat (lease, ground rent, probate, whether it was sold as vacant, dodgy management company). Having lost complete faith in the purchase, I decided it was best to withdraw, to protect my financial future. I'm not sure whether it was incompetence or deliberate deception, but either way I have lost almost £1,500 from dealing with this estate agency. I feel really let down and I don't know how this has been allowed to happen. I think it says a lot that I didn't even receive a polite email of acknowledgement when I emailed them about my withdrawal/formal complaint. I'm sure this branch is wonderful 99% of the time, but if you are buying a leasehold property from them, please insist on seeing the lease before paying for surveys - buyer beware...

I have used Martin&Co for a couple of years now having previously been with a different agent. I can thoroughly recommend their Westbury team who I really rate, good on communication and very professional. They've also found me some lovely tenants, and very quickly. We had the "pleasure" of buying a property from the worlds worse seller in that he deemed it necessary to threaten to pull out of the sale on every opportunity when the UK's property processes are currently "broken" and grinding along far too slowly. That said, Martin and Co and specifically Sally and Kim were outstanding! They managed the "nightmare" seller by keeping him updated and providing some solid advice and thoughts throughout which seemed to do the trick and allow us to purchase in 7 months (yes 7) in the end. Martin and Co are awesome and are now our letting agents on this investment property....... And the nightmare owners are now a thing of the past..... I also hope they are reading this review too... so they can reflect on their actions and be better at selling their own house shortly as threatening behaviour doesn't help anyone! Well done Martin and Co!!! xx
