made me complete 5 recaptchas to unsubscribe from their spammy emails. this is a tactic to waste people's time so they give up and stay signed up to emails. why would I need to prove my identity to unsubscribe from emails? even a hacker would have better things to do

The property I was going to buy didn't work out. They have waste my time and my money which I spend on searches. She was pushing me to buy a property with Bridgford. This is the reason she messed up every thing and I lost the offer was accepted on property. This behaviour is unprofessional and unethical, Dishonesty/ lack of transparency and totally unprofessionalism. Absolute disgusting customer service. Bridgfords Stockport Absolute RUBBISH, They don't deserve even a one star. waste of time, waste of money, DISGUSTING

Lack of communication, unethical and unprofessional Practices
I had a very disappointing experience with [Agency Name]. I initially booked a viewing for a flat that was on sale, only to find out the appointment was cancelled because the flat was sold, and they forgot to inform me.Giving them another chance, I booked a viewing for another property. However, they insisted that I use their mortgage advisor even though I already had one and an Agreement in Principle. When I refused to change my mortgage advisor, they immediately cancelled my viewing appointment. This kind of behaviour is unprofessional and unethical. I would not recommend this agency to anyone.

I was looking for a one bed flat and…
I was looking for a one bed flat and somehow I was transferred to Dan Mooney, He took two days to get the information about tenants and then email addresses and after he said the property has been rented out. Whenever you try to call him, he doesn’t pick up and anyone who picks up, they don’t want to transfer the call to him, I am from London and now I know why Manchester has a bad reputation, and no work ethics. Avoid this estate agent, and Dan Mooney,

AVOID this agent
AVOID this agent! We only went with Bridgfords Stockport, after they missold a open house drive to sell our home, however they missed us out of the drive completely. They then refused to let us leave, even though we were well within the cooling off period. They did not include any floorplan at launch, we complained and they eventually uploaded a floorplan for another home, this floorplan had rooms, doors, open plan areas, windows and alcoves that did not exist, while missing doors windows and a porch. They also measured wrong, with a 13 foot room being marketed as a 20 foot room. Even after knowing it was the wrong floor plan, and they were misleading potential buyers, they refused to remove it until we had completed OUR OWN REPLACEMENT!! They promised to keep in touch and provide feedback. They have not once called us, and have failed to provide feedback or a single viewer. We provided the photos, the floorplan, the measurements, had to change the description and even had to instruct them to use tags on Rightmove, they have done absolutely nothing and yet charge over £1000 more than other large agents. We have asked them to remove our home from the market, or at least to remove our intellectual property - the floorplan and the photos we took, however they are still listing our home for sale, using our photos and floorplan even though we do not wish to sell. We now face having to drag this through the courts, and involving the ombudsman.

Poor would be an understatement, they ignore emails, are unable to contact tenants, hide hidden charges please find anyone but to use. You will regret using them. The worst service by far on any agent I have ever used. If anyone else is available let them rent, sell or manage it first the are dreadful.
Hello, I am sorry you feel this way please email me at review@countrywide.co.uk if you wish to discuss this further. Kind regards, Lucy, Customer Relations.

Terrible service from start to finish
Terrible service from start to finish. Ross didn’t turn up to an arranged viewing and was late for another one. You have to deal with Crewe for a house in Alsager even though they have an office in Alsager. I don’t believe negotiations happened they just advised I had to pay full asking price. He totally went back on what was agreed in terms of items agreed as part of the sale.. making me out to be making it up! They were too busy trying to get me to see their mortgage adviser… they didn’t get on with progressing my offer. The whole thing was a shambles and totally destroyed my relationship with the seller. I won’t ever buy a house Bridgfords are selling again!

Atrocious Customer Service. Have been chasing their Burnley branch for 6 weeks now and have emailed individuals there, as well as their general contact address and no one gives a damn.

Ashley - Great Sankey
Ashley, at the Sankey Branch, was brilliant! My offer was confirmed in August 21 and after many date changes I pulled out when the vendors wanted a 'provisional' completion of April 22! Through all that time Ashley kept me up to date and went above and beyond to try and get the sale to completion. She is a credit to Bridgfords

Bridgfords York
Bridgfords York- didn’t have the best experiences with Bridgford’s over the year of my tenancy with a huge lack of communication. However, the last few months were very positive and cannot recommend Jack Drewitt highly enough. He was so helpful and no issue was too small. Replies within half an hour and was very reassuring. Thank you Jack!

Reliable and helpful
This is a great agency: they put us in touch with our new landlords and were very helpful every step of the way (special thanks to Ash!). They were always easy to reach, responsive and polite. When we arrived at the new place we had a lovely welcome pack waiting for us. Thanks for everything, Bridgfords!

Our agent went above and beyond for our purchase. They were quick to get in touch with the seller and get back to us with our queries and this was on numerous occasions. They have also helped with our questions after we have moved in which has been a great help. I would recommend using Bridgfords (Stockton Heath).
Thank you for your superb 5* review and recommendation. Best wishes, Lucy, Customer Relations.

Awful service and expensive fees. Landlords should use someone else.
Been with Bridgfords for a few months and cant really give positive feedback back on any part of their service. They are slow to respond, aggressive and generally useless. Their service centre is completely separate from the lettings team which results on breakdown in communication and poor service. They are great at selling their service to entice you in then run a mile once you are signed up.

Illegal
They will call you in and tell you to speak to their mortgage advisor who then tells you that he can get you the property if you sign up with them for £660+ non refundable, he will use their own solicitors too. My wife and I asked what about the other bidders and he said, the vendor won’t see those bids don’t worry. This is completely illegal and we walked away, he then said you are willing to walk away from this deal and get outbid. I said yes I would rather lose out on 20k than give you one penny. It’s kickbacks galore in that place and we know full well we will now not get that property. I would love to speak to the person selling the house but they have moved abroad and left these clowns in charge.

Bridgfords letting Manchester…
Bridgfords letting Manchester…IF YOU ARE A LANDLORD PLEASE AVOID USING THIS COMPANY AS YOUR LETTING AGENCY.I’ve seen many landlords complain that they are not getting any viewings or any tenants. This is not due to your house trust me, It is due to the fact that you are using Bridgeford lettings.Me as a renter l personally would never make the mistake of renting another property that is managed by Bridgeford lettings. They are honestly so completely rude I could not believe it was a real company that I was dealing with. Paul Craffey from the branch in Manchester should honestly be fired. He makes a show of the company. All staff follow after him with his disgusting attitude. Not to add they also do not care about the property, the landlord, nor the tenant.they are just there to finish their shift and go you can tell by the way all of them behave. I can assure you not even one of their employees are trained in customer service it’s so sad.

The staff at Bridgefords have been exemplary. It is obvious there is great leadership and values that permeate throughout. They are professional, personable and knowledgeable. Communication is excellent, I was kept up to date at all the times. They are a credit to you.

Weren't bothered about us at all. Called to make a offer for a property we had just viewed no answer. Called the following day, no answer, left a message, this was on a Friday. Monday came thought they might get back us nothing. Called Tues, Weds, Thurs, Fri. No answer, its now Wednesday the following week and still nothing. We are 3 lads around 24 years old so guessing instantly been judge, even though we were polite and fully know in our hearts we would look after any property. Understand its not down to the estate agent but the landlord, however, Its not difficult to be honest instead of leaving us in no mans land. Ive personally lived on my own since 18 and know how to look after somewhere. Wont be bothering to enquire about any property with Bridgfords again, as I fear there is no point and would only lead to more of our time being wasted. Edit: After reading further comments it seems clear they are not bothered about people looking for properties to rent or those already renting properties it seems. Big shame, not everyone can afford a house in the current climate, especially on your own and younger. No justification for making us feel like 2nd rate citizens.NegativeResponsiveness

I had the misfortune of renting a property through bridgfords in Warrington for approximately 2 years. During this time their continuing incompetence made the experience stressful and unpleasant. Simple requests, such as fixing a faulty boiler, were somehow turned into harrowing and arduous tasks with phone calls back and forth leaving us without a boiler for days. Then came the renewal of our tenancy, where for just shy of £300 bridgfords painstakingly changed the date on our initial contract, to reflect that one year had passed since we began renting. When I queried this nobody seemed to be able to explain these absurd charges. Finally when we came to leave the property, we were kept waiting for several months for our deposit despite leaving the property in an immaculate condition. We called every week and were repeatedly promised somebody would be back in touch and it wasnt until we threatened legal action that our phone calls began to be returned. All in all if you are considering renting with bridgfords, my advice would be to find yourself a bin on a quite side street, clear it out, climb on in and set it on fire as it will likely be a more pleasant experience all around.
Hi Ben, I am very sorry to read that this is the way you feel. So that we can address any concerns you may have, and also verify you as a client of ours, please can you contact us at review@countrywide.co.uk. to discuss further. Kind regards, Scott (Customer Relations Team)

Had a terrible experience start to finish renting from Bridgfords. Issues we brought up on our viewing, before even moving in, such as a faulty door to the front bedroom which meant it didn't close were still not dealt with 2 years later when we moved out. When we extended our lease after a year we were charged an extortionate amount of almost £300 for them to re-print the contract. We queried this and were met with no real answers as to why this amount was so high for what couldn't have taken more than 15 minutes to do. A special mention must go to Louis who was the most incompetent person I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. On moving out of the property at the end of October we did not receive any of our £755 deposit back nor word of what was happening with this. I contacted Louis repeatedly via email and phone to try to find out what was happening only to be ignored. Despite it stating in their own contract they had 1 month from the date we moved out to propose any reductions they chose to ignore this telling us they legally didn't have to adhere to this clause. Why on earth is it in the contract then? Eventually on 21st December Louis responded and we were hit with a £185 fine for 'cleaning' despite us cleaning the property top to bottom before leaving. (Might I add it was absolutely filthy when we moved in). We then tried to contact Louis countless times via email and via phone and got no response. Every time I called he was conveniently 'in a meeting' or 'out to lunch' and I was promised he would call me back, which he never did. This went on for weeks with us repeatedly asking them to provide proof this 'cleaning' work had been done (mind you the following tenant who had moved in the day after we moved out was in contact with us and we knew no cleaning had taken place). They never provided said proof. Eventually they offered us a reduction to £100 in fees after we threatened legal action which they said the landlord had agreed to. We decided to agree to this as we were genuinely absolutely fed up by this point, they were refusing to release the undisputed portion of our deposit, had messed us around and ignored us for 2 months already and we had just bought our first home which meant we were strapped for cash. This would be the ordeal over, wouldn't you think? But no, after many more ignored emails and phone calls we were told the landlord had not given permission for this in writing! It then took another months worth of emails and phone calls, which were again ignored by Louis, to actually receive the remainder of our deposit back. We received this on 22nd January, we had moved out of the property at the end of October. This is honestly completely disgraceful, and we were about to launch a deposit dispute in order to try and resolve this (only reason we hadn't is because of the time this takes and the fact that all our deposit would be held until it was resolved). I would never recommend anyone rented though Bridgfords after this experience, you'd honestly be better off going on Gumtree and privately renting off God knows who because you couldn't possibly find a bigger or more incompetent con artist as Bridgfords. They have you backed into a corner and feel it is acceptable to keep your money for months with little to no communication. Louis, in particular, seems absolutely incapable of performing his daily duties at work, such as actually communicating with clients. I honestly think they were hoping we'd just give up and let them keep the deposit.
Hi Lisa, Further to our previous response, thank you for contacting us directly at review@countrywide.co.uk. I can confirm that your comments have been forwarded to the local team to address as required. Kind regards, Scott

I have assisted my mother in selling her house. She is elderly and suffers from hearing loss so things haven't been easy for her. We haven't yet sold the house and the COVID-19 situation is making things difficult. I would like to say though that I have been impressed with Bridgfords' service. They have been helpful, communicative and professional. They have gone the extra mile in every single way to tailor the service to our needs. They have also gone a further extra mile in helping my mother with her shopping and communication difficulties at this challenging time. Helen, Ellie, Rachael, Anne, Lyn and no doubt many others have been involved. A big thank you from us both, and we hope a sale comes soon after this situation ends.
Thank you for your wonderful 5* review! It is great to read your comments and I will make sure they are brought to the full teams attention. Best wishes, Stay safe! Scott @ Customer Relations.
