We’ve just arrived in the UK and have been renting for less than a year, but we’re already facing what seems like forced eviction. Many things are unclear, and we’re being charged unfairly, for example: 1. **Ventilation window damage**: There’s a small ventilation window at the top that we didn’t even know existed. The landlord is claiming we damaged it and charging £70 for repairs. 2. **Lawn maintenance fees**: The garden was in the same condition when we moved in, but the landlord is demanding £300 for grass cutting, even though we have photo evidence proving otherwise. Is this fair treatment for new tenants?

I had an experience with Ashtons about two years ago, and I’m still quite disappointed with how things were handled as a buyer. They seemed more like the seller’s ally than a fair estate agent. Even the handover of the keys felt careless and lacking in respect, which was a huge thing for me as a buyer, it should have been handled much better.

The folks at Ashton's were amazing, with fantastic marketing of the property that really did it justice. When prospective buyers looked around they knew 100% what to expect and therefore just looking for that all important 'feel' - rather than simply browsing. With quality viewings we had three offers, and the house was sold in just less than a month... for the right price. An utterly flawless estate agent. From friendly staff to effective and efficient bookings. These guys have everything. I had a particularly difficult time between selling and purchasing but the staff at Ashtons fought beside me at every turn and helped me understand the process and what to expect and when to be frustrated with external agents who were holding up the process. We moved our let properties to Ashtons about 5 years ago and it was a good move. We have our own manager, Toni Lally, who looks after our properties and she does a great job. There's never any down time and tenants are adequately vetted and tend to stay with us.
