This review is for Linda O’Donnell at the Walthamstow branch, she was amazing with our house move and chain of 5! Yes a chain of 5, which she kept us completely informed with and upto date. Linda went the extra mile to help us complete our sale and purchase, she chased like crazy, called us and emailed with all communication along the chain. And when people threatened to pull out she was there calming and guiding the chain to completion. She was a complete trooper and we have her to thanks for helping us get it all done in time. I must say I was a complete ball of anxiety, stress and she managed to keep me in some sort of order. Props to her because she also went through our stress and anxiety with us. Here’s hoping she still wants to do her job after working with us 😂Highly recommend if you are selling/purchasing through DA at Walthamstow that you request Linda!

I found the East Ham branch to be a bit…

I found the East Ham branch to be a bit of a nightmare and somewhat manipulative, first Maureen was really charming, and I realised later pumped me for info, about the lowest price I would take and saying fixed fees that turned out to be without VAT and to have all sorts of other charges added on. So fees were way more expensive than I had thought l. On the plus side they did get a buyer really fast, before they even advertised in on line and I was stupid enough to say yes at the bottom line which was represented to be the the buyer having scraped together every penny they could. (That turns out not to be quite right as they are going to remodel the house their surveyor told me)If you agree a fixed fee they work for the person buying to secure the sale and not for you. And they will put pressure on you to meet unreasonable demands even after you ah e formally said no via your solicitor rather than point out to the buyers that they are asking for things never normally done and only days before exchange and completion. In hindsight I would never again use this firm and have real concerns about the ethics of someone who isn’t up front about fees, hides the VAT and additional charges until you get the paperwork with small print and who is open about advertising at inflated price so that buyers feel they are getting a bargainAvoid fixed fees and they might actually work for you

Excepted an offer for selling my property at the end of July. Great, but things where moving so slowly, not being updated with anything, just was left in the dark. Then Linda came on board and things started to get moving, she kept me posted and actioned everything which had to be dealt with immediately, she really bent of backwards to get things done. Eventually I completed early December with the great help from Linda.Thank you Linda for all your hard work, very much appreciated.

The Douglas Allen team have been really helpful throughout our entire search to buy a house. We dealt with a number of people in the Walthamstow (Thank you Maria, Ben, and Ammer) branch who were very polite and insightful. We got the opportunity to view the property before it hit the market. They were easily contactable throughout the entire process. Being our first purchase we felt a little lost. Linda O'Donnell walked us through the process and was calm and patient with us and helped us every step of the way (Thank you so much!). We had regular catch ups by both email and phone and it was very reassuring to speak to her during this.

More than just an estate agent

We bought our house through Douglas Allen, and it was a very good experience. So a few years on we have sold our house through them as well. As previously, not only are the team in Walthamstow amazing at what they do and really customer centric, Maria, Ben and Ammer are amazing, but the approach to marketing and selling the house is really best in class.Where they really excelled though was the after service. We had an absolutely amazing aftersales/account manager who was with us every step of the way through a sale where various parts of the chain threatened to collapse several times. If it wasn't for this service and Linda, who is such a star, going above and beyond the sale would never have happened and we would have missed out on our onwards purchase.There are plenty of estate agents out there who are transactional and treat clients like numbers. Unfortunately we have had experience of a few. Douglas Allen are the opposite of this. I don't write many reviews online. But having almost lost out on buying the perfect house because of problems down the chain, and seeing all the effort that Linda put into saving our sale, I think it's the least I can do.Thank you Linda and the team at Douglas Allen.

Worst estate agents in the country , dealt with barking-side office . And was gobsmacked to see how they do business , mortgage broker and manager does doggy dealings . Doesn’t have the sellers best interest at at heart . Only care about how much more cash they can make . Avoid at all costs , the broker Faisal , out right said to me give me cash to get house.

Having bought and sold 3 houses and found the process extremely stressful and hard work, I was very much dreading having to sell my father's property through probate. With every sale/purchase, the estate agents were very much the weak link. I appreciate people can be busy but things like not calling you back when promised with significant information and giving us what we later found out to be completely false information, just displays a complete lack of respect for a customer. So much to my utter suprise Ammer Haroon was the totally different to any other agent I've dealt with. He was extremely proactive and efficient, polite and friendly. If you end up having anywhere near the service I recieved I'm sure you'd be very happy!

My partner and I sold our flat in Walthamstow in early 2020, a very tough time due to Covid-19. Douglas Allen Walthamstow were excellent and kept us informed throughout this difficult time. Maria telephoned me regularly with updates of the sale, and also dropped my keys off so that I could sort things to help the sale move faster. Ammer and Ben were brilliant too and organised many viewings to the flat. Maria, Ammer and Ben were all very polite, professional and very approachable. Excellent experience with Walthamstow branch. I made an unplanned phone call one afternoon when I was scrolling Rightmove desperately. I spoke to Ben who gave me plenty of time to explain my situation - an unexpected offer on our flat, and need to move quickly and a baby imminent. Ben made a comprehensive plan to show us a range of houses in one afternoon to fit with our scoping of the area and our childcare needs, and tight timescale. He had a good knowledge of the area and got a sense of what would suit us. It worked perfectly and we found our new home on our first outing with him. From then on Ben and his colleague Maria handled our purchase smoothly and we had great confidence in the process. It was obvious that the seller trusted Douglas Allen, had regular contact with them, and the purchase was extremely smooth because of that. We plan to never move again(!!) but if we had to I would definitely approach Douglas Allen in Walthamstow to be our agent. Thanks again!

Great Experience

Jess, James and Kaitlin were brilliant. They provided us with a lot of information from the start, clear communication throughout and also the portal is great to track your viewings, offers, feedback etc. They were very knowledgeae about the market and even helped us by letting us know about other properties that were coming onto the market that could be a fit for us. Fee is on the high side compared to other agents but going with a cheap option isn't always the best idea as we found out prior to working with Douglas Allen.

Having recently had our offer accepted on a property, Sean was very helpful in getting us a viewing, Anita was really helpful showing us around and giving us tips on how to proceed, Michael sent our offer through to the seller and then called us back to say it had been accepted, all in short order! Sean and Karen in the office were also really helpful in making our offer and acceptance plain and simple. Great Service through many challenges

She found us a great tenant, and ensured everything was sorted in a timely fashion. We received our payment within a couple of days via bank transfer (which is much better than other estate agents who I have used in the past, who used to send me a cheque). When I got to view the property on Bede Road initially, I wasn't interested as such as I felt it's a property that has a lot of demand and I felt like with the competition I would not be able to win the property. I spoke to Waqas after the viewing and he suggested the VIP home finder service to me, a service where I could get into see properties before they hit the online market and he suggested to meet Faisal Noor, the in house mortgage adviser, once I became a member of the VIP service and saw Faisal to work out my maximum affordability, I made an offer on the property and it got accepted the very same day! I would highly recommend the VIP Home finder Service and would Highly recommend Douglas Allen Chadwell heath! This will sound like a fake review but it isn't - we had a choice between three different estate agents in Chingford and went with DA based on a recommendation from a friend. Our agent Michael was really positive and we really liked the way he acted too, so it was a pretty easy choice The photos that were taken of our flat were amazing and DA already had a viewing lined up before the flat went on the market - that viewing didn't result in anything but the very next one, on the day the flat went up, resulted in an offer which we eventually accepted. We were on the market for 24 hours. After the offer was accepted, Natasha took over and guided the sale through and was relentless in chasing solicitors and keeping us informed of what was going on, ensuring it went as smooth as possible. 100% recommend.
