Late in 2014, when rapidly approaching the long Christmas lull I had exhausted all avenues in getting satisfactory quotes for a Tunbridge Wells property refurbishment which I was not going to find easy to project, manage due to distance. Doorknobs in Tunbridge Wells had sprung to mind from my time in the area and their website confirmed that they will coordinate property improvements for landlords. Happily they very quickly indicated that they had a clear vision for the necessary work, to my specifications and budget, and I am quite frankly thrilled at the finish achieved after eight weeks of work by the various contractors and to budget, as well as extremely impressed by the level of coordination demonstrated by all in the Doorknobs office, to bring everything together. Doorknobs’ professionalism has extended to the letting process and everything has gone smoothly there too so far so I would not hesitate in recommending them to others who might need these and other services they offer.

We purchased a property from Doorknobs in Tunbridge Wells 18 months ago as a rental proposition. The transaction went through very smoothly and Jack at Doorknobs kept us regularly informed of the progress. We were so impressed by Doorknobs' professionalism that we decided to use their services to rent the property out and within a week they had found us a good tenant. Throughout this time Doorknobs has fully managed our property to a very high standard and as our letting agents, we feel it would be difficult to find anyone better. What we've found most reassuring is the fact that whenever we've had a question or needed some advice (we recently had some improvements carried out) we had a reply or a telephone call the same day. That's one of the most important things for us - knowing that Jack or another member of the team will always get back to us quickly. A very competent, customer-friendly business and highly recommended.

I sold my property (1 bed flat) in Tunbridge Wells recently, and chose Doorknobs for a variety of reasons. Other estate agents seemed resistant to taking on the property (bizarre), and argued about the expected value that the property could achieve. Doorknobs, (Jack specifically) by complete contrast embraced the opportunity and helped me achieve a sale price which was at least 20% higher than all other quotes. It was a slick, speedy and very professional service and made me loads of money! They were also the most competitive on charges & fees.

I have dealt with many agents since arriving in the UK 8 years ago, as a buyer, landlord and tenant too. In this instance I was a tenant and although everybody has different experiences according to their circumstances, I can safely say that my experience of Doorknobs was a good one. I found these agents responsive, punctual when making appointment to view house at beginning of tenancy, always available when I had queries, even when I turned up at their office unannounced. Doorknobs always informed me well in advance when they were bringing potential tenants to view the property at the end of of tenancy. I found them to be down to earth, practical and fair in all the dealings.

I have been using Doorknobs to rent out my flat in Tunbridge Wells for 5 years and have been delighted throughout with their services. They have quickly located respectable tenants who have been well briefed on the features of my property, resulting in minimum periods empty between rentals and satisfied tenants remaining for a good while. I now also use their recommended tradesmen when needed (accidents happen, decorating, boilers need servicing etc) and have found them to be well chosen both on quality and price. I will continue to use Doorknobs and would strongly recommend this polite local agency to any landlord.

Honestly, I rented my flat trough them, and they gave out the WRONG account number to the tentant - not once but TWICE!! Can’t belive that still. Also, they did a check out of the tenant WITHOUT realising that there was a radiator missing from the wall and there were holes in the master bedroom!!! They got away without paying for the damage!! NEVER USE DoorKNOBS as their name says it all! They are KNOBS!!

I have two flats in Tunbridge Wells, both of them have been rented out and managed by Doorknobs for around ten years. Both flats have had tenants almost constantly during this time. Doorknobs inspect the properties regularly to make sure they are well maintained. Their rates are very reasonable and I am happy to use them as long as I have property to let.
