Dear Karl, we're disappointed to learn that you were dissatisfied with the time it took to complete your sale. Our overall completion averages do fall well beneath the national averages in terms of timescale, and in cases such as yours where it has not, it is generally due to complex issues that were not foreseen initially, that holds the pace up. Although, we would like to clarify that, a sale being achieved within the first 2 weeks, and completing within 5 + 1/2 months is within the national average timescale of 4-6 months - Although we understand that it taking longer in your case could have been troubling, especially knowing that we are normally able to operate quicker than that. In terms of the cost, we have multiple selling options, and the only option we have where we would charge a fee would never be at a cost of £9000. It may be that your contract with us was one where we agreed a fixed price with you, and our remuneration was the difference between your agreed fixed price and the buyer's offer, in which case this would have been the balance that your solicitors would have paid on your behalf on completion, though please be assured that this would not be a fee, and in this case, you would still be achieving the price you had agreed with us initially. Although it can be difficult to comment on such individual circumstances on sites like this one, we can comment that your sale did reach an unfortunate point where it was delayed for some time, though this was not something that was in our control, rather the restriction that was registered against your property from another company. We have observed that our internal team did try to explain this to you, noting that no property can be transferred to new ownership until the current owner's restrictions are lifted in full, and this is unfortunately a non-negotiable aspect of the legal process. Neither ourselves, the solicitors acting for yourself or the buyers solicitors have any control with this. We can see how keen you and your buyer were to conclude the matter, and that was certainly our view also. Our internal team have progressed alongside this matter, and your progression agent did as much as they could to expedite this, despite our hands being tied. Please be assured that we have done everything we can to progress the sale promptly and correctly. We understand that the restriction has since been lifted and we have exchanged and completed your sale.
