Non-existent communication. Viewings done by an unprepared team: didn't know level of service charge, exposure, if the appliances were new or not, size of the flat or rooms. One claimed we had replaced the kitchen (we hadn't), another that the Hue Lights we installed were staying in the flat for the buyer (we never said that).

Three words - don’t do it

We listed our house with foxtons and the service has been abysmal. There’s been next to no effort or movement with trying to sell the house, no communications with any options etc. You get an account online which shows upcoming viewings - almost all viewings ‘booked’ haven’t actually happened and they don’t contact us to confirm it either. You expect a lot from an estate agent with their level of commission - dont bother.

Hena Tariq and Harry Gale were amazing and always on top of everything. The communication was 5 star, they always answered or returned phone calls and emails very quickly and even helped me move the transaction forward by actively engaging with the many parties involved and the transaction was completed smoothly in 2.5 months. Also to mention there was a big difference between Foxtons’ approach and that of all other large estate agents in the area (I had previously engaged with about 5 of them) who were either not very responsive once the contract would be signed or offered inaccurate information to prospective buyers etc. I believe a big issue was that I had a bad buyer at the very beginning who dropped out with no reason and badly damaged the prospect of my ad - Hena was the only one who really took time to understand the situation and didn’t discard my property as inherently faulty (there wasn’t in fact any issue, the property was in better state than many others in the area) as seemed to be the tendency for all other estate agents. I would definitely recommend both Hena and Harry from Foxtons.

I feel that the experience was negative

I put my flat up for sale with my Foxtons, I was going to go with another agent but they were very pushy and said how they managed to sell better than anyone so I went with them. I was under the impression my flat would go straight up but after I signed the contract it took them 2 weeks to take photos and put them up, in the meantime they put up a video of the flat from a mid-term inspection where it looked absolutely disgusting. I had never seen this video and I don't see why it would be allowed to be put up without my permission, I asked for it to be removed, they didn't and it took them nearly the 2 weeks to remove it. The photos they took were adequate but not particularly great, I was pretty disappointed. I felt that the price was extremely over inflated (like all their prices) but respected they knew better than me, but when every single person gave feedback that it was way overpriced and no one showed any interest I became quite embarrassed. I found it very hard to contact my sales agent and just gave up most times after leaving numerous messages. I heard from my agent 10 times more before I signed with them than I did during my contract. When I gave notice 28 days before the end after having no interest, I was reminded how they are the number one and warned that going to another agent would not solve the issue. Their commission is so much more than everyone else but I feel my experience with their sales agent was extremely poor and I can't believe I had no interest in my nice flat. I feel I made a mistake going with them and would caution anyone thinking of them. Also I rented my flat with them for nearly 2 decades and my last tenant emailed them notice which they said they did not receive until the next day so they extended the end date to one day beyond the end of the month, they then charged me a management fee of £9 for the one day (and she paid £1 something rent for that one day). I will never rent with them again due to the complete lack of transparency with regards to money. (As for the excuse that the housing market is quiet I put my other property up for sale at the same time and it sold within 2 weeks, but then again the photos were really good and the price was reasonable).

Extremely poor experience with Foxtons

Extremely poor experience with Foxtons. We were left without proper cooking facilities for 25 days, which had a major impact on our daily life and forced us to spend extra money on food. A functioning cooker is a basic part of any home, yet this was not handled with the urgency it deserved.
