I rented a flat in Richmond through Foxtons. While I want to acknowledge that Ciara DuPont was professional and genuinely tried to help, my overall experience with the lettings team, particularly Margot Redpath, was very disappointing.

GoogleOne of the worst and unethical agencies I've dealt with - signed a tenancy agreement, the landlord pulled out, and Foxton wiped the entire tenancy agreement from the portal and wouldn't provide any written confirmation of the rescinded offer. When we tried to call them to get help with the above they were so unhelpful and rude!! Got friends who have dealt with Foxton and absolutely hate them. Go somewhere else!

Landlords don’t be fooled by the nice offices and friendly staff. They are ruthless. They take 13 percent + VAT for rent collection only and lock you in for 5 years. It’s not the tenants we need protecting from. It’s the ruthless agents.

Non-existent communication. Viewings done by an unprepared team: didn't know level of service charge, exposure, if the appliances were new or not, size of the flat or rooms. One claimed we had replaced the kitchen (we hadn't), another that the Hue Lights we installed were staying in the flat for the buyer (we never said that).

GoogleShaz and Sonny worked so hard selling my flat and kept me updated on viewing feedback regularly. My sale ended up being quite complicated with EWS1 issues and then a delay to my sale after my tenant refused to move out. This was very stressful and Shaz went above and beyond to resolve the issues as they appeared and was very proactive making sure the buyers were also kept updated.Whenever a problem appeared Shaz found a solution! I can’t recommend Foxtons highly enough and am so thankful to Shaz and Sonny for all their hard work making sure the deal finally went through .

She was accommodating in looking for the place that managed to tick all the boxes, and her dedication in assisting us in getting across the line to secure our place was impressive! After we signed the contract, she even drove me around to tour the new place. I highly recommend Nathyln and her service!

Terrible service. Very disappointed. I found a short let property on their portal myself, the agent (Amir Abbasian) kept suggesting either awful properties, or ones over my budget. They were very quick to call back and close the deal but once the deal was made, I never once was able to speak directly to my agent Olivia Taylor, or anyone from Foxtons again. Repeated messages and email queries went unanswered. Every two weeks a new person would be in touch and all my queries would be ignored. The property was nice and in good condition but i paid Foxtons 350 pounds for the end of tenancy clean, and was slapped with a 600 pound cleaning claim on my deposit. The property was never cleaned and my landlord claimed the charges from my deposit. at least a dozen emails later, I still don't have a protection document number for my deposit. I was told my deposit was protected. I ws told I would be provided an inventory upon moving in. I was told the place would be cleaned at the end of my tenancy, for which i paid. None of the above happened. Still waiting for part of my deposit to be returned, even though they said it was transferred three weeks ago and should take 5 to 7 days to be credited. I've settled the dispute with my landlord now, even though it is extortion, but it seems even he was being cheated by Foxtons.

Sam took us into properties with a distinctively courteous manner. GoogleI recently sold my property with the assistance of Oliver Mint and Sam Barker. Both Ollie and Sam were a pleasure to deal with. At the early stages, Ollie provided assistance and guidance on the sale process and advising me where there were issues with a lack of communication from solicitors. Sam was able to find a buyer and kept me informed throughout the process with regular updates. Due to a lack of communication from the buyer’s solicitor, Sam was imperative when it came to chasing the buyer’s side and his persistence ensured the sale went through. Ollie and Sam were both imperative in ensuring the sale went through. This was my first time dealing with Foxtons and both individuals have left me with a good impression of the agency, which I would not hesitate to use again.

GoogleIt's been an absolute pleasure to work with Sam when I was looking to buy a property. He's great at communication and is very quick to respond to your messages. We started off with Sam trying to understand what my ideal property is and then he made some targeted suggestions based on that understanding. He was very quick to arrange viewings and keep me posted on the timeline side of things. As a first time buyer, I particular benefitted a lot from his in depth market knowledge and his guidance on the process. He is very professional yet friendly at the same time. He's been patient in answering all my questions, arranging second viewings, and generous with his time and his advice. I recommend working with him :) Thanks again Sam!

used to be good but ever since the intro of the renters rights acts, property management service has dropped off a cliff. This bad for landlords because they get poor management, bad for tenants because they get poor representation, and bad for the industry because estate / letting agents are no longer accountable.

If you are a renter, please do not use Foxtons. They are a scammy horrible company that only serves the interests of the landlord. They rented us an overpriced disgusting dump by using old out-of-date photos in the rental ad, and locked us into an abusively restrictive contract that made it impossible to leave the horrible dump that ruined my mental health. Do yourself a favour and stay away from these money hungry scammers.
