Let me start off by saying AVOID THIS REAL ESTATE AGENCY AT ALL COSTS! We saw a flat that we loved and made an offer straight away. It was requested that we paid the holding deposit, administrative fees and one months rent upfront prior to receiving confirmation that we were approved. We questioned this at the time and the estate agent agreed that is was a strange request and not standard practice but it was what the landlord had requested. We ended up paying the fees and waited for numerous weeks for a confirmed move in date and a copy of our tenancy agreement. We had already planned the date of when we would be moving out due to another contract ending/upcoming holiday and this was extremely clear to the estate agent. We were told that we would 'probably' be able to move in on the specified date that we requested and that it shouldn't be an issue - but never gave us a straight answer. Every single day, we were promised a call back with an update on when we would receive our tenancy agreement. We continuously chased this up only to be told that the staff were not in the office or that we would receive a call back later in the day but we rarely did. When we did end up hearing from them, their excuse was that the landlord takes their time replying as they correspond via email due to the landlord living abroad. After weeks of waiting for our tenancy agreement (remember, these people had our money), we were advised that they were 'very sorry' but the landlord had decided to rent her flat out to a family member instead. We requested our money back and were told it would take 5 business days for the refund to be processed. The money was refunded after 5 working days EXCEPT for the administrative fees as they 'made an error'. I requested to speak with the finance department but I was advised that they do not speak to the public. We chased the administrative fees, thankfully we were refunded this in the end after days of endless chasing. Due to this happening, we had 5 DAYS after arriving from an overseas trip to find a new home, pay all of the fees for our new home (which we didn't have at the time due to Martin Brooks having hold of the funds) and organising the logistics of our move as well as having to take out an international transfer due to the fact we were waiting for our funds to be refunded.

I’ve been dealing with Martin Brooke’s for nearly 10 years now. Ian I deal with personally and I couldn’t have asked for a better manager to deal with our queries. He is sufficient, professional and very caring towards both my tenants and myself. If I had 100 properties they would all be let by Martin Brooke’s. Thank you for all your hard work this far

I thank Steve so much for helping me find my lovely new home. It was very stressful going from agent to agent registering my details but Steve helped me and took me to view a few houses until I found it. WASTE OF TIME! we had a viewing at 5.30. we arrived there 5 min earlier and phoned them around 5.45, they said the agent was on his way. After waiting under the rain 45 min we decided to leave.
