Worst estate agents ever

This has to be the worst estate agents on the planet. With the manager being one of the worst things, he doesn't know basic things his own staff have to correct him and the communication between them is horrendous. These people handled our property situation very badly which later led us to withdraw from the whole thing. Don't let them trick you into going with their solicitors countrywide. They are absolutely useless and the estate agents will state that the solicitors are quick but they charge close to 2k and cant even reply to an email quick enough because apparently "they don't have enough staff". Their knowledge of a property is so bad that you can't really ask questions because they really don't know no basic knowledge of it. In this particular branch they have a lady working who's name I do not know. Its not Jade she's great but another lady who is really rude, she's reluctant to give updates on property situations and will talk to you like she's better than you. Please avoid them but if you have to then be cautious and don't take their word for anything expect the worse because they have the worst working there.

I will never use Bairstoweves

I will never use Bairstoweves! Me and my partner have put offers on 2 different properties and both times Bairstoweves ruined it for us! First time we had an offer accepted, we were about to start paying for checks but they then got a higher offer and pushed the venders to accept. Second time we offered £2,000 over asking price, their offer was under asking price and they again pushed the vender to go with them!! They are forceful, rude and just an awful company! Do not recommend at all! They have knocked our confidence right down AGAIN and now worried they are going to wreck it for us AGAIN. Stay clear of them! Thanks a lot.

Simply awful.

I’m Been with bairstow eves for two years and I and my husband are not happy and nor was the landlord. 1. Fees are an absolute rip-off. Nearly £2000 up front for... I'm not sure what... £700 deposit fair enough... one month's rent fair enough... but nearly £600 in fees you are joking? Other letting agents in the area it's around £250! 2. They lied to us. When we first signed up we asked if there would be a tenancy renewal fee. They said no. Lo and behold 11 months later they ask for £120! And then phoned us several times over the month asking us to pay it even though we said we would pay it on a specific date. 3. They don't fix things. When looking at the property we were promised they would fix a fence panel. We contacted them once a month for three months and no response. We fixed it ourselves. 4. Our cooker broke and they took days to contact the landlord. 5. They phoned us the day before to schedule something, hubby took the day off and they didn't show! 6. Contacted them many times and they just don't fix things! That's IF they answer. 7. The office is seemingly run by kids who really know very little. They didn't even understand how a marriage certificate proved change of name or even spell the name correctly.

Bad Customer Service: Bairstow Eves Romford

I purchased property through Bairstow Eves Romford. The sale went through pretty quick thanks to having good solicitors. However, I found the agent and her manager at the Romford branch extremely arrogant, bossy and inconsiderate as they were pushing to bring forward the completion date by 4-6 weeks when I found out later that the owners were pretty flexible and relaxed about a completion date.It was later realised by myself and the owners that it had something to do with the branch getting their commission in time for their accounts by the end of their financial year. The branch held a copy of my house keys which they said they would handover once I go into their office to sign a form. This was unknown to me until I chased this up on completion. Prior to completion I was not told of any T&Cs. At the time it was an extremely stressful experience as my mum was admitted into hospital. In the end, the agent had to run everything by her manager which was time consuming and inconvenient. What happened to agents being proactive and making effective decisions for themselves?A week later after completion, they finally posted the key through after I informed the branch that I cant come to their office to pick up the key and sign their form as I was at the hospital. Finally, I have asked Bairstow Eves Romford to remove their SOLD board from my property on at least 4 occasions - twice via email, once over the phone and I went into the office and specifically asked their colleague I want it removed before Christmas. It is now the 19th December 2018 and it still has not been removed. I am extremely unhappy with the staff at this branch as now that they have their money, they dont seem to care what service they provide. I used an online agent to sell my property and their customer service was brilliant. I now know why high street estate agents are slowly 'dying' as they cant compete with online agents.

TOO BUSY TO ANSWER OR REPLY

Romford branch - polite on the phone, but useless, although considering they rarely answer the phone and don't return messages, they could be deemed rude. I wanted to change a property viewing appointment time, but was told the sales team were in a meeting, and that it would be finished in 10 minutes (when they answered the phone that is). Phoned half hour later, they were still in a meeting. Phoned every ten minutes for an hour from therein, left two messages and got no answer or reply. They finally answered when I got to the property, but by then the viewings had finished. Just phoned them twice today (two days later) over the course of an hour, but still no answer. Hopeless.

After being passed through four people…dodgy AND illegal

After being passed through four people the manager refused to arrange a viewing without all my registration. I went to the property under my own steam to find it had been sold - by Barstow - dodgy and I believe illegal. Through friends I managed to contact the sellers a week later. The property had been sold months before! - they are working down their reputation as the worst agencies in the UK, they must have to do special training to be this bad

even though my experience with them was…

even though my experience with them was several years ago, it is so refreshing to see that they have improved NOT. This companmy lied, decieved me and left me in a very vunerable position with no way to even try to get a complaint in allowing them to get away with everything. It is an absolute miracle that they are still trading. I owned a large rabling victorian townhouse worth back then 280,000 (in the recession) BE wanted to revalue the property and told me that it was only worth 105,000 and no one would buy it. turns out that they were trying to sell to a property developer at a low price to make themlselves a profit. I told them I would be terminating our allience and go elsewhere and very quickly got another buyer who oiffered 250,000 and we accepted. contracts signed and prepared to move on the date stipulated. When we went to sign for our new house it transpired that they literally never told us that the people at our "sold property" never signed their side and had pulled out. so we lost new house. When trying to complain we were told literally "we will bung you a 100 quid and call it quits" . then tried to collect fees when we went elsewhere (who sold our house at 250,000) with no trouble. . These con artists should be stopped and quickly.

DECEITFUL LIARS

Our buyers sold their house through B/E and we’re told their buyers had mortgage in place , after 8 weeks of our agents and solicitors trying to substantiate this couples mortgage leaving messages and getting no reply, our purchase has lost their house and we are all left in limbo , they are the most deceitful agency who lie , they do nothing for their money .How can they get away with playing with peoples lives and emotions , our buyers are now on medication for stress .NEVER EVER DEAL WITH THEM UNLESS YOU WANT A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN

Do not bother

Do not bother. We used the Rainham branch to sell, they got us a buyer quite quick but then it went rapidly down hill. They were more worried about what the rest of the chain wanted than us. They offer different rates which we were never offered, oh and then they agree to a moving date you cannot do despite you telling them you cannot do it. I did question through the whole process who was paying them such was the service! I did make a complaint but like the rest of the company the complaints process is flawed.

Liars.....Complete waiste of time !!

Told them that I am only interested in buying a house. They tried showing me a flat first which I refused to see. Later they booked me for viewing a house and the flat without informing me that I will be viewing the flat...I viewed the house which I was not even booked in for with Tanice. She told me the price and said owner wants to sell the property as soon as possible & they know him personally so he will accept the offer. I made the offer and then the manager Nigel told me the price I have been told for the property is not right and there negotiator Tanice never gave me this price in the first place. They started ignoring my calls, stopped responding to emails.Later I had a meeting with them and they both denied that I was initially give the wrong price for the property.South Harrow branch is the worst to visit if you are looking to buy or sell your property. These people lie to their own customers.Complete waiste of time..

Worst service

Most incompetent service received from poor checks of tenants, to forgetting to do regular inspections of our property, to the tenants chamging our locks, late payment of rent, sub letting, misleading on claiming of damages from the deposit to now waiting over 5 months to no resolution. Please do not go in blind and believe what they are saying. They also have refused to meet with us or give us the name of someone more senior to discuss oir reoccuring concerns

Harrow

Harrow - before going on holiday, met with new branch manager for putting propery on the market....and said as my daughter lived there, I would co-ordinate all through her - I have had a previous bad experience with agency and even worse with online, so went for a name that was well known and part of larger network. I was offered a competative deal I was happy with, but this time I was more abut the professional service to seel the property - not cheap fees. My mistake. Photographer came (our fault a delay of week due to illness). the property wasnt advertised even without the pics, so assumed waiting for pictures. After two weeks - nothing. After three weeks property still not online or advertised. An open day had been planned following the initial meeting and booked with four people already on their books - it never took place. No communications. So four weeks after initial meeting, nothing. No viewings. No advertising. Finally a conversation with the manager - to be told about thier internal staff issues (no interested! and unprofessional), and the reason its not advertised? they forgot to tell me (as the new manager hadnt been aware apparently) that I had to PAY £149 upfront for the pictures. Not even the online agencies do this. Its always incorporated in final fees.I asked if no sale, would I get the money back? No. He then asked if I had signed the contract. I had not even received it. Then offered subsantial reduction in fees. But by now the total lack of professional service lead me to say - no thank you.

Zero stars from me!

Zero stars from me! If I could give them no star rating I would. I've been looking for properties and got a call today from Abdul - Plaistow branch saying he had a property he thought I'd be interested in. Instead of sending it through and letting me decide if I was interested he was pushy and wanted a viewing date before he sent it. I called back to say it was not of interest. I said it wasn't what I was looking for at all again he was really pushy and quite rude. On this, and past experiences, I would never use them. I've tried to get through to their complaints department and there's a recorded message saying they're not taking calls. Which says it all in my books...

If I could give a 0 star rating I…

If I could give a 0 star rating I would...My partner and I rent a flat from this sham of an agency. They were all about communication up until we handed over our last part of the deposit and agency fees. After this they were gone with the wind. We have been dealing with mould which they said they would fix before we moved in and a broken radiator in the bedroom to compliment the freezing wooden flooring in the mornings. We have spent most weeks trying to follow up with Countrywide regarding these matters and not a word or visit to address the issues. It makes us laugh how we pay so much in agency fees for what...?Sort it out and start addressing your customers respectfully and responsibly.

Use a map. Keep britain tidy.

I would just like them (Hucknall branch) to stop littering our neighbourhood with their signs. They put them up and when they let the property they just get chucked at the side of the road. They put a sign up outside my neighbours house 2 weeks ago and it wasnt even to let. They got the wrong flipping street. They said they would move it but didnt and now its just laying there. Then they stick a flyer through my letterbox claiming they are successfully letting property in our area. NO. YOU ARE NOT. YOUR ABILITY TO READ STREET NAMES SUCKS AND YOU ARE LITTERING!

Landlords, be careful

Landlords, beware of the accounts department from Romford branch. They just take the rental payments and never pay the full amount to the landlords.Simply they will make up something in their portal but never explain anything.Never experienced this kind of issues with any other management company.Very unprofessional and below standard service.

Landlords avoid this company at all…

Landlords avoid this company at all costs, 0 Professionalism, 0 accountability, no property inspections over a year, rent arrears despite being told the tenant was in a guaranteed rent scheme, I deeply regret having any involvement with them, I can only equate it to being trapped in a series of the Apprentice.

Absolutely disgusted with the pushiness

Absolutely disgusted with the pushy customer service skills at the Sutton Coldfield branch of Bairstow Eves. Rang up several times to view a property, left a message and ended up ringing back again. Finally got to speak to someone and was quickly transferred to a mortgage advisor. I repeated severalctimes that I wanted a viewing yet was told Icould only view if I had a discussion with their mortgage advisor. I told them I already had a mortgage in principle yet was told they were trying to get me the best deal. I repeated I only wanted to view, not make an offer or give my details. I won’t ever yse Bairstow Eves and would rather miss out on a property than be forced to give my details. Much better to use an online estate agent like Purple Bricks and avoid the pushiness.

Horrible experience

Horrible experience! Several problems since the beginning. They didn't let us into the new property the day agreed knowing perfectly that we were leaving our current flat that day and we had a baby. Then after 5 days we could eventually go in there but the house was disgustingly dirty (we made a phone call the previous day to ensure about the cleanness of it and they confirmed it was when actually in wasn't). All what they were able to say was "the landlord is responsible, nothing we can do". So I don't understand which is the job of an estate agent and how they justify the fee they askThey paid me off £200 out of the £500 fee (what a miserable treatment) Then most of the jobs we agreed weren't been done at our entrance and any time we are reporting an issue to be resolved, it is a nightmare to get that done, months and months of nothing (no radiator in the bedroom for 5 months, of course winter time). No humanity or professionalism at all

Good luck getting deposit back!

I recently ended a 4 year stay in a furnished flat. Upon leaving I requested my £800 security deposit back at which point they managed to come up with a list of repairs etc that totalled 95% of my deposit. This was despite a full clean including carpet and oven etc taking place prior to leaving. I dread to think how much they would have charged if I'd left it in a mess. Would avoid using this company again completely as they obvious always intended to keep full deposit regardless of final condition. Currently seeking legal advice to get my money back.

Failed property purchase

I tried to purchase a property through Bairstow and Eves in Grays, was promised a quick 2 months sale after the offer was accepted, after close to 3 months I received a call from my solicitor that the sellers have decided to keep the property. No one from Bairstow Eves thought it would be important to also inform me, and a week later I now see that the same property is back on the market advertised by the same agency. They have failed to inform me while the property was originally advertised that even though it was a freehold house, there was a management company involved with maintaining the square. When asked about it, I was told that they were not aware of it, besides I should not worry about it because it will be a small amount anyways. As expected, the management company slowed down the sale and refused to release any information until the sellers paid all the money they owed to them. I'll give them 2 stars instead of one since this was not entirely the agent' fault as the sellers have been extremely difficult to deal with, however there is no excuse for not keeping me updated about why the sale fell through and why the property is back on the market all of a sudden.

Rubbish!

Rubbish!Booked a valuation via their online portal and had confirmation back it was in the diary. Shortly after got a phone call asking to reshuffle half an hour later. I agreed I could do it provided they were out within the hour (I had another appointment).I was promised a call back......sure enough no call back, no one turned up at the suggested times, no one rang to confirm, apologise, reorganise. If they can't even do something as simple as book a valuation or turn up for an appointment or bother to pick up the phone or drop an email, what hope is there for them to sell your home. Why are estate agents so appalling at basic communication and treat the people who generate their commision with such contempt.
