Complete Shambles

Having lived in our Croudace home for a little over 3 years now, I would not recommend buying a new house from them.Unfortunately it feels to us as if much of the house is designed to only last as long as the 2 year warranty period, after which things begin to fall apart.When originally completing on the house, it was handed over to us with a number of defects and issues which should have been sorted long before moving in (i.e. dents in patio doors, lights not working, cracked glass, toilets not attached to wall) - This is a fact, and was acknowledged in person on move in day. This is not defamatory. The finish in a number of areas was also dreadful, having looked like something had hacked away at a number of skirting areas. This is pathetic considering how much money you are handing over, and also just feels to us that Croudace really couldn't care less if they are happy to hand over a property with a number of glaringly obvious issues.The paint job on the house is also dreadful. You can literally see the raw plasterboard through the paint. The thinnest most pathetic layer was applied to the whole house, and the best part, if you even touch it or accidently scratch something across it, the entire wall marks and the paint lifts off, as I have experienced multiple times. You can't even wipe the wall without it leaving a mark. It's feels like they used milk to paint the walls.Another issue we had is that our ensuite shower turnt into a death trap. The door used a physical latch rather a magentic strip like most shower doors. One day whilst I was out, my partner got stuck in the shower where the latch broke, and she was forced to smash down the shower frame. Now imagine this was an older person with not much strength? Who would have helped them get out? Croudace agreed to replace the shower but this is where even more problems began. The shower was ripped out, which resulted in a tile cracking, and as the tiles we had were no longer available, we had to get the entire bathroom retiled, and also the wall on which the tiles sit ripped out and re-plastered. Come time to fit the new shower, the wall is not flat and the metal frame does not sit water tight.... So process repeats, wall comes out along with the tiles, new wall in andddd, not flat again... Not once did I see a spirit level used, it took myself to go and check the wall to see if it was flat. How on earth you manage to install a wall and make it have a massive dip in the middle I do not know. Croudace even tried telling my partner in person there is not an issue and it doesn't matter? In the end we result to a work around with the tiles being packed out to make up the difference, which is obviously not ideal. This process took 6-7 months and Croudace didn't seem bothered at all that we were without a functioning ensuite for so long (in a new house mind you). A few months later the shower head stops working. For some unknown reason, a genius decided that a shower with an electrically controlled button should be used! The rubber seal had gone on the button and water leaked in to the controls and the unit had to be replaced. It is likely the same issue will happen again in the future and guess what, we will now be liable to pay for a replacement!Fast forward a few more months, the grout and silicone is coming apart on the tiles and floor, and the shower is now leaking out of the tray, and into the ceiling below! We resorted to fixing this ourselves as we did not trust Croudace and their questionable contractors to fix this.We have experienced even more issues, recently one of the windows has broken and doesn't open, great! Extractor fans don't work, hob extractor fans have broken, tiles are randomly cracking, toilets are leaking. Nothing is built to last in these houses, which I suppose is a job well done for Croudace as long as its outside the 2 year warranty period! A nice bonus for the executives for sure!We have gone to install a stair runner, which involved ripping up the old carpet, only to find out that somebody has put our staircase together horrifically, and a riser is completely detached, along with a number of other steps being in poor condition. We will now have to fix this ourselves, and it is not a small job. Why was I not surprised... They even left a sticker on one of the steps showing who did the job as if they were proud of the finished product!Since submitting this review I have received a complaint of Croudace flagging it for containing defamatory content. I don't understand how factual information about my own house which I purchased for several hundred thousand pounds is defamatory? I haven't even been contacted with an apology, instead they try to get the review of MY EXPERIENCE removed. To me this just further illustrates their attitude towards their customers. I do not recommend a Croudace Home at all, and I refuse to be silenced.

Amazing Sales Consultants at The Brooks

Incredibly happy with the sales process, build quality and post moving support

From looking at a show home purely out of interest, to part exchanging our home and buying a new and beautiful house in 3 months! Gaye and Lyn were supportive and provided great communication and advice throughout the selling and buying process. Croudace made an offer that we couldn't turn down - they really do offer great incentives. The build of our new home was on schedule and we are very, very impressed by the build quality and finish of the house. Croudace are genuinely building incredible quality houses. After moving in, we've been in daily contact with Lyn, Gaye and the site manager to ensure we are happy with the house and all minor snags are being rectified within hours of notification. Great Developer, Great Value for Money, Beautiful Houses and Friendly Staff. We only had great experiences with Croudace Homes. Laurie from the Willowbrook Park sales team at Didcot is amazing, always very helpful, approachable and goes the extra mile to help out. We are currently working with the sales team for a second time as we are purchasing a new 1-bed flat alongside our 4-bed house.We moved to our 4-bed Croudace home in 2022 and our experience has been nothing but positive. All defects have been resolved positively and both David and Sam were brilliant. Always very thorough, clean and respectful. The site manager Lewis was always around to help with various queries and even knocked on the door to inform us in person when something was happening nearby that can impact our day-to-day access to the house or a driveway. We picked Croudace Homes as we were drawn by the charm of the wider development which blends traditional features with the benefits of a new house, matched by well sized houses and gardens. I would highly recommend this developer to anyone. The Willowbrook Park development is welcoming, green and feels/is very safe. We have been very impressed with the Croudace Homes experience and will be top of our list if ever we move house in the future!

I visited the new site in Oxford over…

I visited the new site in Oxford over the weekend for a 3rd time and I must say I am very very impressed with Nicki the sales lady. She was very warm and welcoming and very knowledgeable, she really knows all about Croudace and what they are building. You can see when she talks about the homes the pride she has. Oxford site looks really good, the show homes are build to a really good standard. It’s new with the air source heat pumps and Nicki has a good way of explaining it but as with all new things we will get use to it. After visiting for a third time I hate set my mind in wanting to move onto the site, still deciding which design I like most but still need to sell my home which I am hopeful it will be a quick sale before they get snapped up.Nicki is refreshing and very informative. She is also great with my kids, made them feel involved and important. It was a lovely feeling knowing they felt at ease because moving is very hard especially for little minds. I cannot wait to buy and move there.

Always available to answer any queries we had, and kept on top of everything for us.Since moving in we’ve had a few snags so have had to contact the after care team - our contact is Daniela. She always replies promptly and gets any jobs booked in with the various departments. Paul and Dave have fixed a few things for us and are always lovely. Beautiful new houses

I’ve visited the Croudace homes marketing suite and show homes a number of times at the Brooks in Burghfield Common. The sales consultant I always see is so lovely, friendly and helpful, answering my questions honestly and thoroughly. She has shown us a number of houses on the development so I can make a clear and informed choice on the houses that are available. She goes over and above to help me. The houses are beautiful although the smaller Shipton is quite small to fit 3 bedrooms upstairs, but the living space is good and the show homes give a good representation of layout and a feel for actually living in the space. The development itself seems well laid out although gardens are a little small but in line with most new built houses. I’m looking forward to seeing one of the townhouses as a showhome soon as this house is likely to suit my needs better than the others. Overall the experience I have had with Croudace Homes is excellent and the staff are lovely and the homes are beautiful and built well.
