I have been a member for 15 years but…

I have been a member for 15 years but since the lockdown I have cancelled. I thing the top management have lost the plot and we are in danger of loosing the National Trust if they don't get their act together. The booking system is a farce and does not work. Most other businesses are making sensible covid-19 changes but not the NT. Please please wake up!

Nice place just outside the shopping outlet. We had nice snack there at lunchtime. Food was fine and I would recommend visiting.

When this years membership ends

When this years membership ends, I will not be renewing my long time with the National Trust. The 'woke' carryings on, do not go down well with me. We have our history and it stays where it always was. You should not even consider changing things. So when the Trusts are exactly as they always were for years and years, I am OUT.

Hunting stag

Hunting stag - shame on you allEveryone should boycott youUnforgivable !!

K · 26 September 2023

Agent replied · 19 June 2024

Hi K Brown Thanks for your comment. Hunting deer and stags with packs of dogs has been illegal since 2004 and stag hunting groups do not have permission to operate on Trust land for any purposes. If anyone witnesses anything that they believe to be illegal, we advise them to contact the police directly, in addition to notifying our staff on the ground where possible. We will continue to provide all possible support to the police to ensure any incidents are appropriately investigated.I hope this provides some reassurance. Kind regards Chris National Trust

Oh dear National Trust

Oh dear National Trust, I appreciate the difficulties 2020 may have presented you but your response has been poor:- I’ve struggled to book a place to visit one of your properties- When I tried to cancel my membership (£126 family) you made it very difficult over the email, questioning why I wanted to leave... etc.- You took payment a month later regardless! This is not good enough!

Tickets at last but what a Faff.

For the 3rd week running tried to get tickets for Stourhead. Got in selected time but only 1 ticket came up, went to next slot got 2 tickets eventually . Very slow and poor system. Someone previously said she would leave NT and join Heritage NZ, suggest you stay closer to home. Join NT Scotland save money and they will give Senior rates to seniors unlike NT

NT should have a better booking system

NT should have a better booking system. It should prioritise members over non members and it’s stupid saying please keep last and first slots for key workers .....so how can I book these .... I can’t there’s no option on the booking site. The trust is behaving appallingly. And jumping on the “we’re looking after key workers “ bandwagon whilst not providing a service is false advertising.

How sad

Why are you advertising on tv when you are making mass redundancies? You are a shower of s**t. Your leaders have destroyed an institution. How sad to see leaders of an organisation get it so wrong. Us grey haired supporters are not stupid. Volunteers quitting in droves and hard working employees being sacked. Do not renew your memberships as all you are doing is supporting madness.

National Trust not to be trusted

National Trust cannot be trusted. Absolute rogues and liars. They overcharge on direct debits, it's impossible to contact them on the phone. The people who respond to the emails do not have a clue. They are run by the woke now, customer service is no longer something they care about.

Awful service

Awful service. Ordered an item two weeks ago and not received it. Called to chase and when I eventually got through was told it was shipped and on the way which was untrue. Three days later got an email saying it had only just been shipped and would be another 10 days. I paid for delivery and have received other free delivery items within days.

I agree with all the comments about the disturbing direction of the Trust with management that are out of touch and not fit for purpose. I complained - following 4 months closure of their properties - to paying a full renewal of membership and was given a discount. I am not sure this is widely publicised to all members and if not is deeply wrong.

National Trust has cancelled our June…

National Trust has cancelled our June holiday to their place near Halifax. They aren't refunding, but give you the chance to defer the holiday for two years but can't say if the holiday will cost more (due to inflation). However, if you choose not to defer for two years it counts as a cancellation and you have to pay a cancellation fee. Very bad treatment National Trust!

Lost their way

If you can find a national trust property that's actually open, you'll find when you get inside all the room information and history leaflets they used to supply no longer exists, so you end up walking through the building with no idea about past lives or history, if I wanted to do that I'd stroll round a antiques shop.

The once mighty national trust…

The once mighty national trust continues to decline. Access to properties has been increasingly restricted over past 3 years with rooms and floors taken out of public viewing. Now most properties are completely closed for 6 weeks while restoration work is done apparently. It's the management that needs restoration as all this work could have been done during lockdown.

More incompetence from the Trust

Today, some of the 70,000 Trust volunteers were informed, and I quote "Blackbaud [who manage the Trust's data] told us they have since discovered that some bank details held on the volunteering database were compromised as a result of the data breach. This data included your bank account name, sort code and account number." One wonders if the seven million members' personal data is safe!

Proud to be a member

The National Trust is nothing short of a national treasure. Before complaining about parking issues etc, people should research the history of the Trust and their amazing achievements. I am pleased to contribute as a member and look forward to visiting the various sites across the UK each year. Many staff are volunteers and it's always a pleasure to get into a conversation with them during trips.

Kingston Lacey Ignite Christmas Lights…

Kingston Lacey Ignite Christmas Lights show....what a waste of £15 per head, there was 7 of us. One footpath, herded around like sheep, the half hour queue half way around did nothing to increase out enjoyment either. The 'displays' were static objects just lit up, nothing really artistic or interesting. Save your money and drive down the High Street, the lights will be better.

Need a replacement life membership card

I’ve mislaid my life membership card so I’m trying to contact them to get a replacement. So far spent 15 minutes and 20 minutes listening to their message that they are so busy!If they are that busy they should employ more staff to answer the telephone.Very poor customer service.

Members of many years won’t be…

Members of many years won’t be renewing. Tried to book several times for Arlington court they can’t guarantee entry even if booked! No refund offered or frozen membership, you can go to a pub but not a stately home? Appalling service they are scamming the public and need to be taken to task. Very sad as we have enjoyed many days with the national trust

Abysmal service

Abysmal service. Tried to get senior membership after being members for many years. Tried to phone numerous times, emails unanswered and yes they debited our account with the full amount. I’ve sent details to Watchdog and I suggest those that are having the same experience do likewise.
