TrustpilotNo Longer
I have supported the National Trust for over 30 years and in that time have only visited a handful of the properties, I thought it was worthwhile to maintain our Heritage and for the upkeep of historic sites, but no longer. Apparently having been taken over by a committee of souls who value their politics above the values of their patrons I feel it is now time to leave.

Asked them to cancel my membership via email. They asked me for my address to confirm my identity. I sent them my address. As far as I'm concerned that's a request for cancelation completed. However, they continued to take my money and refuse to refund, citing my nonreply to a begging email as evidence that I had not canceled. Disgusting and dishonest.

TrustpilotI’ve also cancelled my membership
I’ve also cancelled my membership, the directors are clowns. The general idea of any business is to attract more customers not drive them away. They openly support a Marxist political party whose agenda is to defund the police, open all the prisons and smash the establishment.... I won’t be back until the lunatic suicidal management are all sacked and the prosecuted for failing in their duties as directors

TrustpilotCan't contact them! Useless National Trust
Can't contact them!We need to contact the National Trust to cancel our membership, but they don't reply to e-mails or phone calls. Happy enough to take our money, but not to actually be contactable! We've cancelled their Direct Debit, but I reckon they will be quick enough to chase our non-payment!

National trust have been terrible this last year and have still not opened many of their properties. Very few places are also dog friendly, including many of their gardens. They are completely out of touch, overpriced, pretentious Muppets. Give your money to the National Trust for Scotland instead. They have organised online talks and other events at every opportunity throughout covid for all their members.

Hi AndrewThank you for your review and I'm sorry you feel the way you do. We were founded as a charity so that everyone can benefit from nature, beauty and history. As society becomes more diverse, we're working to meet the needs of everyone. This is whether you’re a member, supporter, volunteer or staff member, we want everyone to feel welcome. Our membership fees are vital for us to continue to protect and maintain our places. Membership is our single biggest source of funds and allows us to pay the on-going costs of running the Trust, as well as fund our vital conservation work and keep places open for for everyone, for ever.Whilst our income comes from a wide variety of sources (such as our food and beverage and holidays businesses), income from membership accounts for over a third of our total income. We are in a period of significant pressure on people’s finances. We understand that, and we are very grateful to those who can continue to support us, particularly our members, who are at the heart of the National Trust. We review our pricing regularly to make sure that we can balance being able to look after our historic places, green spaces and collections to the high standards they deserve, with providing high quality days out for visitors.

TrustpilotMembership Cancelled
My wife and I have long enjoyed NT Membership and have visited various locations throughout the country. Over the last 12 months we have become increasingly disappointed in the direction the Trust is moving. The Trust Executive has betrayed members by pursuing a misguided, narrow left wing ideological political agenda rather than preserving national heritage. We have cancelled our membership until such time as the Executive resigns.

Been trying to book tickets on numerous occasions starting early in the morning and trying throughout the day. Always in Eventbrite queuing room!! What a total waste of time!! I cannot believe that the NT think this system is appropriate!! Why don't you do your research, read the reviews and introduce a better booking system. You will lose members if this is what membership T & Cs now involves!!

TrustpilotCancelled our joint membership
We have just cancelled our joint membership. We totally agree with many of the other reviews here. If the Trust don’t want to be associated with these historical buildings, then hand them back to the families which initially gifted them to the nation. It’s the Trust’s job to preserve and look after the buildings, and their history, for posterity. Their job is not to try and change history.

TrustpilotCorrupt, incompetent parasites
The management of the NT are corrupt, ignorant, and incompetent. They have no interest in conserving the nation's heritage. Rather they want to push their marxist-inspired - and entirely untruthful - anti-British, anti-White agenda. The greedy Director takes £190,000 a year, from assets built up by slavery, so the low-information trougher alleges. Do not, under any circumstances, donate or spend money with these self-satisfied parasites. Force them out.

TrustpilotGo woke, go broke.
l, like many others, are not happy about the politicisation of the National trust. They have insulted many historical british figures. I have been a long standing member and tried to encourage others to stay whilst people left in masses due to the coronavirus. Due to this national treasure bowing the the snowflake woke brigade, I will not continue my membership and would encourage other to cancel theirs.

TrustpilotOur boundary backs on to National Trust…
Our boundary backs on to National Trust land. They have ash trees which are falling all on to our fences because they have ash dieback, The National Trust are not carrying out their duty of care by removing these trees as they originally agreed to do, The trees are dead and will keep falling but they do nothing. These trees are dangerous

TrustpilotSame experience as everyone else been…same as everyone else
Same experience as everyone else been using national trust cottages for 10 years - no offer of refund just postponement - each email takes 3 days to answer - found out this morning they have rebooked a holiday for a date next year I have not agreed to - this is a very shortsighted approach to treating loyal customers - extremely disappointed in an organisation that I once trusted.

TrustpilotGreat customer support phone line
Just wanted to say the national trust customer service department were very helpful and understanding. I spoke to a wonderful chap called Andy and later Mark in the shop who helped me tremendously and were both patient with my problem. Thank you for providing a great call service that helps people through their issues.

TrustpilotNot greatest value.
You need to visit a lot of properties and NT car parks to make membership for two worthwhile - trouble is after year one the options diminish unless you like visiting places several times. So I cancelled before second year started. Had some issues ending membership - they continued it even after I had spoken by phone and cancelled the direct debit. After a few crossed wires it was sorted out reasonably amicably.

TrustpilotDisgusted with National Trust
Disgusted with National Trusts booking system If they valued their members they would be given priority.Seriously considering cancelling membership after many many years of being a member. They mainly seem to be money grabbing, won't refund or extend memberships but are reducing workforce and maintenance of open spaces. I wonder if the management have any idea how much damage they have done to the reputation of the Trust.

CANCEL YOUR MEMBERSHIPS ALL IF YOU ARE AN ANIMAL LOVER !!This is a group who allow illegal hunting on their land. Foxes and stags are all chased with hounds and put through a long and painful death while the tea rooms are full and their picturesque gardens are being walked.Google it and find out that the NT are just a bloodthirsty bunch of toffs !! DISGRACEFUL !!!

TrustpilotLacking trust, against national heritage...
The Leadership of the NT have taken the far-left's bait on Critical Race Theory, swallowing it hook, line and sinker. The nation-hating, division-stoking, bigots that push that agenda are never going to visit or support the National Trust. The Leadership are driving away keen supporters for the sake of virtue signalling their trendy idology.Having cancelled my membership DD, I will be visiting other local attractions.

TrustpilotWhat a waste of woke time
What a waste of time, 4 of us visited Calke Abbey it cost £26.00 to walk round a mud pit just to get in the grounds. The house was closed so we stopped for a bite to eat, the food was awful and very overpriced. We considered joining NT but decided other organisations deserve our support more than this WOKE set up.
