Could be better!

I only realised yesterday that some places were open but was disappointed that no tickets were available for any of the local sites.I’m sure the NT is aware of the problems with its booking system but it would be nice to know how many tickets are being made available, will this number be reviewed in the light of experience and whether there a limit to the number of tickets any individual can order

You owe your members loyalty

This is the second week we have tried to book a visit. Feel really aggrieved that NT members are not being given priority for admission during this time. We have already paid with our membership and priority should be given to members. Why can't the NT give priority to members first. After all, you have been happy to take our money while you have been closed so you owe your members some loyalty.

National trust Arrogance at its worst

I have emailed the national trust on 3 occasions about how I go about a refund or membership extension. They have never had the decency to respond. Yet end of last week we had our new cards and told they will take money beginning of June. Not this year!! I have cancelled my direct debit so they can’t. We have been with the trust for several years, but find their blatant arrogance unacceptable.

Birmingham back to back houses

Birmingham back to back houses. John our guide was extremely knowledgeable and interesting in his delivery of these historic buildings. On a wet miserable day he managed to bring the circumstances alive and made everyone feel included. NT have done a great job at restoration and keeping the details intact. Well worth a visit when in Birmingham City centre.

Really poor value for money

Really poor value for money. During the past year we have only used our membership 3 times and all three properties were a disappointment. After getting scammed with offers of M&S Vouchers and binoculars which failed to materialise, we also had to chase the actual membership tickets and book. All in all we have been thoroughly disappointed and will not be renewing this year

I’m afraid the standards provided by the National Trust to its members is in rapid decline , whether that be lack of customer service or the astonishingly high prices at their food outlets ( £3:50 for a sausage roll) , it is clear it’s members are viewed as a resource to be fully exploited .

Shocking

Shocking. Tried to cancel membership because of COVID and can't. Auto renewed in March (which we weren't aware about) and want to charge us £80 to cancel. Just reading the other reviews, I think we get the idea of how bad this organisation is. Customer service should be their priority if they want to survive, looks like they will be in trouble next year when we all vote with our feet.

Is it possible the National Trust have woken up?

Is it possible the National Trust have woken up? Along with many NT members I was considering cancelling my membership because of the direction the NT was going. Having just studied the 2021 Handbook I am somewhat mollified since the photographs of visitors are now more representative of the diverse UK population. The National Trust needs to concentrate on what it was set up for - preserving our heritage.

Cash payment refused.

I visited the National Trust shop in Sidmouth, Devon on Friday 7th August. I wished to purchase an item but was disappointed to be refused because I wanted to pay cash. I know that legally they can do this but I think I will be spending my money in small family owned businesses in future. I only gave one star because I can't give a big fat zero, my preferred choice.

Disgraceful Service

I have been trying to get an answer via email about freezing my membership for over a week, which I know they say they don't do on their website. However, this is disgraceful. I am self-employed and cannot afford/don't want to pay for a membership I cannot use. I am sure many other people are in this boat, and this is not right. They need to sort this out quick. Not impressed.

I have experienced fantastic customer service from National Trust online shop. An item I wanted was out of stock but you could opt for email notification when in stock. The very next day I received an email to say in stock so I ordered. Next day the item arrived. It was well packaged but was cracked so I called customer service and they immediately sent a replacement. Fantastic service. Will always buy from them with confidence.

I renewed our family membership in july. Was told if renewed in full with direct debit we would get 25% discount however the full amount was taken from our account. We have tried ringing several times can't get through and sent lots of emails with no reply even with a read receipt requested I suspect not even read! not impressed I don't think they can continue blaming covid for not replying.

I became a member mainly because of my interest in architecture & period furniture, and also to help protect historical heritage. But now I have cancelled my membership with a heavy heart, there is no alternative but vote with our feet & leave I was taught at school of our involvement in the slave trade, I know it was evil & don't need educating by extreme left woke numpty's

As a family we have been members of the NT for a few years but sorry to say that is no longer the case.I am not giving a penny of my money to this woke organisation until they wake up not woke up.I can see membership is going down, and since it has now become a political institution I just hope the government takes away their charitable status.

Poor online shopping

Disappointing experience from their online shop. Had problems with their website ordering initially, very poor information as to whether payment had been taken. Was pleased with the items that I bought but the packaging was very poor, battered box and no delivery note or returns info. Decided to return one item. Had to ring to get details of their returns -not very quick. Won’t be ordering from them again.

Having now cancelled my 15 yesrs of NT membership, because of their Woke virtue signalling and attempts to shame us on our national history , they tried toretain us through a offer on an annual membership discount!!,,beggars belief. I would question if they truely believe in their agenda, why do they need to engage the services of a Spin Marketing agency to back paddle on their anti colonial stance.

I tried to cancel my membership after they renewed it without my consent. Once I realised this they are insisting I have to stay til the end of the year, there is zero customer service, their resolutions teams’ approach is to tell me to pay up or they will cancel my cards but the payment will soon be due. What a horrid, nasty organisation.

Joining offer is a scam

Appalling customer service. Took out membership in March with an offer of a £15 voucher to use in NT shop or cafe. Multiple emails and calls later, I still haven’t been sent the voucher. Really didn’t expect to be scammed by the National Trust. I won’t be renewing my membership.

I can only echo previous comments on the booking system for national trust properties. I finally gave up waiting after an hour as I had to go to work. I know that we are in unprecedented times but this system is really unfair !! Please NT put in place a decent system , otherwise i fear you will loose many members who have continued to support you through difficult times!!

Goodbye National "Trust"

Like many others, I have cancelled my NT family membership and will definitely not ever visit any of their properties again. The reasons are encapsulated in almost every Trustpilot rating in the past few weeks and are reinforced in articles such as "Revealed: Every reason the woke National Trust placed 100 properties on BLM-inspired list of shame including homes of Winston Churchill, Rudyard Kipling and William Wordsworth" (see google).

Goodbye NT

Cancelled our joint membership today ( there’s no need to wait for the expiry date if you pay monthly) just cannot support the NT after this latest woke BLM issue, Steffun says it all. The NT is completely out of touch with its volunteers and members, constantly on the look out for the latest left wing woke issues..... it’s not their role.... that’s what the BBC do. Goodbye NT.

No Longer

I have supported the National Trust for over 30 years and in that time have only visited a handful of the properties, I thought it was worthwhile to maintain our Heritage and for the upkeep of historic sites, but no longer. Apparently having been taken over by a committee of souls who value their politics above the values of their patrons I feel it is now time to leave.
