McFarlane Estate Agents are QUALITY, they are the best Estate Agent I've ever dealt with, Jacqueline Marchant-Currie especially. She is extremely professional, knowledgeable, efficient and supportive, nothing is too much trouble. Jacqueline provided significant support to me during an extremely long, stressful, complicated situation with a tenant. When I requested something she sent it to me almost instantly and she accompanied me whenever I asked her. Her commitment to clients is always above and beyond. The whole team are professional, efficient and friendly. As soon as you walk in the door you are greeted with a smile and very much a "can do" attitude. Communication is key and they keep you in the loop throughout the process - I absolutely cannot fault them.

Anita is absolutely fantastic! My mother, partner and I are extremely thankful for all of her hard work, she went above and beyond to get us a lovely flat in the area. She knew we were travelling up from London and made us feel very welcomed. She also ensured we made the most of the time we were visiting by showing us many properties in a short space of time. We also found it so helpful when she shared her first hand knowledge of the area - a very efficient, thoughtful and personal service. Absolutely brilliant service. We have recently sold our house through McFarlane, who were fantastic through the whole process. Firstly, Laura took some beautiful photos of our property. Once on the market, viewings were hosted by Tianah who I cannot speak highly enough about. She took the time to get a real feel for the place herself, and spoke to us for an insight to the local area, surroundings, and those small touches that make all the difference. She turned up early for each viewing, and made the process an absolute pleasure, and kept us fully updated with feedback and progression. Great stuff.

Awful awful awful renting experience, avoid at all costs! First of all, the moving in and referencing process was an absolute nightmare. Then when we moved in to the property the fridge wasn't working, there was no hot water coming out of the shower, the extraction fan was broken and still really greasy, holes in the floorboards, tiles missing, door handles hanging off, none of the lightbulbs worked, oven was filthy, and belongings from previous tenants still left in the draws. Although they are adamant it had been 'professionally cleaned'. They forced me to sign the inventory before they had even given me the keys. I was told I had 7 days to let them know if anything didn't match the inventory, which I did. However upon moving out, I found out that the issues I raised hadn't been recorded and therefore a substantial sum has been taken out of our deposit. So I have had no choice but to pay for their administrative errors, despite us leaving the house in a much better state than it was in when we moved in. When we speak to them on the phone, they tend to be agreeable with our issues (where there is no paper trail), but then their actions don't align. During our tenancy, we received an email to say they are putting the rent up by £100 per month "in line with market value" as per their lettings manager's recommendation, despite it already being the most expensive property of this type in the area. We asked for an explanation and justification for this, but were never given one. It is our opinion that they wanted us to move out, so that they could profit from charging the landlord all the tenancy fees to get some new tenants in there. When we moved out and they had to provide references to our new lettings company, they missed out a lot of context in the information they provided, which caused lots of issues for us. This is depsite us checking with them what information would be passed over and them assuring us that it would all be fine - again it was all over the phone, so no paper trail which is convenient for them! If you are renting with them, I would urge you to get written confirmation of everything. Do not trust any conversation you have with them that isn't recorded. I have spoke to other people who have had similar experiences with McFarlane as well. They do not have the tenants best interest in mind whatsoever, only their own.

Although we didn't ultimately purchase a property through McFarlane Sales and Lettings, we did view several properties on their books and were accompanied to all of these by their negotiator Tianah Poynter. I can only commend McFarlane for how well Tianah represented the company. She was friendly, courteous, extremely well prepared and knowledgeable about the properties she showed and really 'sold' them to us, pointing out where potential existed and putting ideas forward for how changes could be made to make the properties suitable for our needs. Any questions she couldn't answer immediately were followed up with a response in a very timely manner and she kept in touch with us over a couple of weeks to keep updated with our situation, without ever becoming pushy or over-bearing. Well done Tianah - you'll go a long way in this business with your outstanding attitude and obvious empathy with and understanding of people searching for a new property.

I would highly recommend McFarlane to anybody selling their house in Swindon. The main man Dom Mullen is an honest, trustworthy guy and won't try and pull the wool over your eyes. He’ll say it how it is. Jo (Sales Progressor) is very thorough, Bradley in the Wood Street Branch went to my house to turn the heating on when I asked and Cam was always courteous showing prospective buyers around the house. The fees are a lot cheaper than competitors in the area. You get the same service (without the BS), without any hidden fees and they do what they say. Highly recommended and if you're selling your house I'd opt for these guys!
