On the whole a good experience

Can not fault the start of the process, The Sales staff were brilliant, we felt they were honest and helpful, always coming back to us when we had questions. They didn't really have to sell our house as we were lucky enough to sell to our first viewer. We were not impressed by the, all be it, indirect pressure we had from their panel solicitors, despite our clearly stating we would not use them, they kept trying to get us to and labelling it as a 'mistake' if that is the case take note of our instruction that we are not using them the first time and do not continue to try and get us to sign up with panel solicitors.Once sold, although our Sales Progressor was very friendly and a nice person, we felt everything slipped from this point, we could rarely actually speak with her, we could always leave a message but she rarely called back, preferring it seemed, to email. She did eventually provide an adequate service and get things moving for us, but we felt only because we would not give up and continuously chased things.However, despite the disappointment of the after sale process, on the whole we had a good experience, the staff were all friendly and we can understand why M&B have a good reputation. We would definitely recommend them as they are, on the whole, very good at what they do.

From the first day we viewed our to be home, we felt welcomed, supported and advised by the estate agents showing us around the property, to the sales agent managing us and our offer of the property. We were kept up to date with all information we needed to provide and the service was smooth and efficient. No query or question was too difficult and Miles and Barr were professional and sympathetic throughout. During the waiting process between our offer being accepted and the exchange we were kept up to date with the stage of the chain every fortnight before we had to ramp things up as we neared completion. Thank you Miles and Barr. A truly swift and easy service. Emily Stickler was also amazing. As our sales progression link, she dealt with all queries so well and as first time buyers she made the process particularly simple keeping us informed of what to do and when and checking in on the forward chain. We couldn't have had such a smooth move without you Emily, thank you!

Take responsibility for your choice of solicitor

This is my second experience with M&B in 6 months. I was happy to go with them a second time, even happier that I didn't use the solictors that they regularly work with the second time around, but successfully worked with Girlings instead. It's true there are a few bolt-on costs for photos, ID checks, EPC rating, but we were made aware of them before signing the contract. Apart from a bit of a slow start when you're so keen to lock in an offer, the committed and longer term staff were always very helpful. Having worn Rebecca Gravener out with the previous sale, her help was less necessary this time. All the same, once again she was on the case before the rest of us every step of the way. Lynette also, charming and helpful when the buyers visited for a final view.

I hold Miles and Barr above all other agents. The key difference is trust for me. Even through difficult circumstances I have never felt that Miles and Barr weren't doing their best to get things done. Special mention to Sam Rouse who has only increased this feeling of trust with his professionalism and efficiency. Also, thanks to Russell at the Faversham branch for his honest and good advice at a difficult time. Finally to Joe, Graham and Donna for processing through a pretty nightmarish sale that was difficult for all involved.

My house was on the market for a long time before it was sold. Everyone at Miles & Barr were very supportive and did everything they could to help us get a sale. Scott was very helpful along with the rest of the team.The person who stood out the most was Debbie Mead the Sales Progressor. Debbie was amazing and worked tirelessly to get things sorted out for us. She was responsive and empathic towards our situation and was very knowledgeable about the whole selling process. She liaised with the solicitor and pushed them along when they were not completing things in a timely manner. Debbie made the whole process much easier for us and we trusted that she was always working to support us. Thank you Debbie.
