I have found Andrews extremely difficult to deal with from the start of my tenancy to the end. I am in a joint tenancy and Andrews put all of the onus on the members of the household to find new tenants and organise new contracts without taking any responsibility for themselves. I joined as an individual, with another individual dropping out before i signed the contract. Andrews immediately tried to charge me their rent as well which i refused (i hadnt signed the contract) and was only resolved when the landlord got involved.As i am leaving the property, Andrews are retaining the same contract but changing the name of the tenants and i have had to state a number of times that my joint tenancy ends on my leaving date and i have no responsibility for their future tenant agreements. I would avoid using Andrews if at all possible in future as they try to force all responsibility for changing of tenancys onto the incumbent residents.

We have recently bought a house marketed by Andrews and I have to say, everyone we worked with throughout, both in the branch and in the completion team was friendly, professional and went over and above. That's James, Matt and Isaac at the Reigate office and also Tracy Burden following up with expertise, charm and approachability to help bring the transaction to a close). It was a real pleasure.

Deceptive and unprofessional from the start. As soon as the lease was signed, various lies started emerging. First stories fabricated about why we would have no washing machine despite being assured that one was being delivered prior to the start of our tenancy. Then on the day we moved in, we arrived to find that the place had not been cleaned at all since the previous tenants and a partial refurb, so was filthy and littered with all sorts of rubbish and discarded metal scraps, nails etc - this was how we had viewed it but with assurances that a professional clean would be undertaken. We hadn't worried about it as it was written into the contract but it turns out we should have because these people are surprisingly inept. Many phone calls to various people and finally received a call from someone identifying himself as the manager for the Oxford offices, who was easily the most obnoxious, rude and aggressive person I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Telling me things such as "If you wanted the property cleaned, you should have had it written into the contract" (it was), and "Just leave the place in the same condition when you move out" (as if we were going to live amongst rubbish and filth for the duration of our tenancy, or trash the place just prior to leaving). Andrews are shockingly poor landlords, refusing to correct any issues we brought to them. Part of the kitchen bench was unstable and pulling away from the wall but the agent said nothing would be done until it was broken. We advised of blocked gutters that were causing flooding inside - that was ignored. On the few occasions they bothered to respond, it would generally take a couple of weeks. They're now withholding some of our deposit, claiming house cleaning and carpet cleaning charges as well as damages, all the while ignoring the written confirmation from the previous manager about what cleaning we would be required to do on termination of our tenancy. The original list of costs they were intending to withhold our deposit for was laughable, citing damage that had been registered as being caused by previous tenants and costs such as missing items that were there all along and us supposedly moving the fridge, despite that being done by Andrews maintenance staff. These people have no idea what's going on in their business, are scammers and will do anything to get money out of tenants (almost certainly without passing the charges onto the property owners). If you absolutely cannot avoid dealing with them, make sure you photograph and document literally everything and be prepared for a long ongoing battle that will make you regret ever getting involved with them
