I was a first time buyer of an apartment with connells, as this was my first purchase myself and my partner were so excited to move in. It was a long sale which i will give the manager credit for chasing, however, i also felt I had to keep chasing him to chase it! There was no chain yet the sale took almost 4 months! I work in estate agency myself and know that no upward chain sales do not take this long.... When the day of completion came it was the last day before Connells closed for a week for Christmas. Myself and my boyfriend could not wait to move in just in time for christmas day! However, when given the keys we went to the apartment to find we could not unlock the door!!! We went back to connells and they said they had 'problems with the door' in the past and that we should of checked this ourselves!! Again, working in the business myself I have never let my clients unlock the front door! They shouldn't have to it should just unlock!!! Connells took no responsibility for this and said they didn't want to cause the inconvenience of not giving us the keys! How is giving us keys to a property we cant even get into any less inconvenient!!!!! We were shocked!!!! We had to call the lock smith out who charged us £60! Connells refused to foot the bill even though they knew the front door would not unlock! We are also missing keys to a balcony door, again, we put trust in the estate agent that all keys would be supplied to us! Another £60 we now need to spend!! We are now up to £120 before we even put our furniture in!!!! For anyone buying with connells check all your keys and check all locks work! Connells will take no responsibilty for this and not even out of good will! Considering i work at one of its competitors i wouldn't DREAM of letting something like this happen to one of my buyers on their completion! Very dissapointed! This was meant to be a special day for myself and my partner yet Connells took any joy and excitement out of this and made it extremely stressful. If i could leave 0 stars I would!!

Worst estate agent, there's no communication from them, no one answers the phone to the point we had a potential buyer turn up at the house as they couldn't get through to them. No response to emails. I have asked them to stop advertising the property 2 weeks ago I've called twice and emailed and still hasn't been done. Wouldn't bother with them.

I had rented a house by the help of Connells in November 2022. I have to say that Connells staffs have helped us a lot. They are Meg, Hannah, Caitlin and Jack. Cause of their help, I really consider that Connells is a good property agency. Meg is very nice and patient, considering our need and helped us to find a suitable house. She provided several properties for us to choose from. Really good! Thanks her! Hannah helped us to finish the handover and reminded us to activate the App to report problems we were facing to in this period. She is very considerate. Caitlin is a very conscientious person, responding very fast, considering our needs of moving into a new house, and helping us to connect landlord a lot. We really appreciated what she has done. Jack replied our reports on the App very quickly. He contacted us to discuss the problems we were facing to, and also contacted the landlord too. He is a responsible person. Ashton O'Connor (no relation to me) from Connells gave a fantastic service recently to manage the sale of my elderly mothers house. She was proactive, constantly chasing others (both other professionals and our buyer who was proving difficult) and always coming up with solutions when things got difficult. I felt throughout that she gave a fully professional service which exceeded my expectations and left my mother very happy with the outcome. I would happily recommend Ashton for any complex senior role in the future on the back of our experience, and I would definitely want her to manage the sale of my family's properties in the future

I am not very often moved to write reviews for the service I have received from an organisation. Probably like anyone who reads this, I feel I have a right to a reasonable expectation of a good level of service, as a given. It is when the service I have received far exceeds my expectations that I put pen to paper, as it were. The property that we asked Karen Crew and the the team to market, had been in our family for over 50 years and given the circumstances, it was important that we engaged an agent that appreciated the depth of feeling within members of our family, having found ourselves in the regrettable position of having to bring the house to market. I spoke in depth with several agents prior to listing and although Connells were not the cheapest, Karen was the one person we felt assured would handle the situation with sensitivity, whilst representing our very best commercial interests. Without question, as the sale proceeded we could not have been more reassured that this was the right decision. The initial negotiations proved a little problematic and because of various issues, the sale became quite protracted. It is when things are not running entirely smoothly that you need to be able to rely on the Agents to step up and manage the process proactively. Karen and the team did this brilliantly, monitoring and liaising with all agencies within the chain, to keep the sale on track. Without question, Connells were instrumental in steering a very difficult chain to completion. This is what you want your Agents to do for you. It is always very reassuring and refreshing when your Agent calls you to tell you about a problem that they have already anticipated and dealt with before it has even crossed your mind. Karen, Jon, Joe, Ashton and the whole team at the Sutton Coldfield branch conduct themselves in a thoroughly professional manner, whilst being very friendly and very approachable. They are also incredibly nice people to deal with! So in conclusion if you are reading this, dealing with Connells means you have the benefit of national exposure but the feeling of being looked after by a small local business. I have always maintained that you get what you pay for in life and if something is cheap, it is cheap for a reason. If you want excellent service by people who care and have the expertise to deal with complex issues as they arise, if you are looking for the best value service not just the cheapest, if you are looking for an Estate Agent that breaks the mould - take my advice and give the team at Connells a call. It is one of the best decisions we have ever made.

Hannah and Dev at Connells were extremely helpful in helping me rent the apartment I really liked. Though there were some delays from my end due to documentation, they kept in constant touch with me and helped me move at the right time. They were always prompt and patient. We were looking to rent a property, after our previous tenant of 5 years moved on. In spite of the lockdown restrictions, Sophia came out to view the property and advised what was needed in terms of redecorating and carpets to get the best return. She also provided a good estimate on the expected rent we could achieve. Once the work was completed, photos were taken and the property posted online and a new tenant was found within a week (at a higher rate than had been suggested). Sophia and Eleanor were very professional throughout the process, which was important as we are not based locally, so all documentation was completed on-line.
