Rude And Unpleasant

Spoke to Danny in Thornton Heath office to arrange to view a property for sale. He was rude and unpleasant from the get go. It was obvious to me that he has an attitude problem and his manner was rude and abrupt throughout the conversation.He offered an 11am viewing on Saturday and I politely asked him if he could make it a bit later and his response was to hang up on me! How rude! I phoned back and reluctantly accepted 11am but he continued to be rude and unpleasant. My partner attended the viewing(I was held up) and Danny was rude and unpleasant to her as well! Where do they get these people from?!I have had problems with Barnard Marcus,Thornton Heath before. The staff are rude and unpleasant and I would advise you to avoid this agent.

I used Barnard Marcus for the sale of…

I used Barnard Marcus for the sale of my property and the purchase of my new property they were great (specifically Michael Griffin and Jill Parry). I found with a few other estate agents when getting valuations that they can be quite pushy however Michael was the total opposite, he provided me with my valuation and all the information I would need to make an informed decision about selling my home and didn't try to push me into getting on the market before I was ready. My sale was actually not straight forward at all as I was buying a new build which came with a delayed completion date. Michael managed to find me a buyer that was happy to complete when I was ready move which was going to take up to 6 months. (I can't imagine there are many people who buy a home and will be that patient). Once prices had been agreed, the exchange process began which had several bumps in the road (solicitors fault) all of which Michael and Jill stayed on top of to keep things moving. Jill kept me updated as much as humanly possible and if it had not been for her im not sure we would have exchanged on the day that we did. Overall I would absolutely recommend selling or buying with Barnard Marcus, they ticked all the boxes for me and charge reasonable fees based on other quotes I was provided.

Unable to trust

I don't feel any trust on them according to my experience to invite them for our property's valuation. SWANS Estate Agents advertised our property with asking price of £225,000. Then Alpha Residential Estate Agents advertised our property with offers over £195,000. They even found me a buyer with offer of £185,000. But I refused the offer because our purchase price was £190,000 on 31-Mar-2021. ------------- But Barnard Marcus advised for asking price of £180,000. {I think that It's because another company called AMG Ltd (our mortgage lender's assets management company) was in contact with Barnard Marcus about our property. Barnard Marcus' agent told me about AMG Ltd works for those who can't pay mortgage repayments.}

Inquired about a property which we wanted to buy in cash. Had the misfortune of speaking to a very rude Callum. Conversation went like this:We: Interested in purchasing this property on cash. Can we view it. Callum: No. We: Umm, ok, could we atleast see a video?Callum: No. We: How are you proposing to sell this without us being able to see it?Very rude abrupt responses. This really isn't how you sell properties. I would never ask them to sell mine.

Positive and dynamic

Positive, proactive and friendly is how I would describe Kelly and her team at the Ealing branch. Kelly found me great buyers at a time when flats in London were hard to sell! She was also excellent at moving things along when they got stuck as they often do when buying and selling property. Imogen also deserves praise for her charming efficiency in welcoming me as a client and dealing with viewings etc. Excellent job all round!

We are currently in the process of completing both the sale and purchase of our properties with Barnard Marcus, Feltham, where all the staff that we have had dealings with, in particular James and Evan, have shown us nothing but professionalism throughout the process. Barnard Marcus Tooting- The most unprofessional team of people. Refused to provide a contact number for our landlord when our house was in dangerous condition, mould, rats, broken toilet, broken shower etc… Stated they have nothing to do with the property anymore, however our rent is sent to them directly every month. Manager Marta was very rude and ended the phone on me when I tried to explain that the house is not suitable to live in. Avoid this estate agents.

I would not recommend anyone to use…

I would not recommend anyone to use them. I bought property through them and I lost of lot of money. Its partly my mistake as I didn't know its possible to sell property without person who sells the property not being the owner of the property. They lied to me that person is in the process of the registration and it will take few months. The true was something else. It took me 11 months to register that property with massive Council Tax bill for empty property as well as heroin squatters being inside for 6 months.Two weeks is very short of period to check all tricks that they use to get you into trouble and unsolvable problems. You have to have very experienced solicitors who can read their selling contract special conditions which are usually on written on 20 pages adding all sort of hidden cost on top of the auction price. I paid 8k plus buyers solicitors fee. Mind you they have their own solicitors company who writes this kind od special conditions and "Clients" who they selling for. As I said if you don't have big experience with Bernard Marcus Auctions sale methods don't bother to go there and bid for the properties as you can make costly mistake regret it big time. There are not good deals there for anyone...

Barnard Marcus of Covent Garden are excellent estate agents. The Branch Manager is Francesca Lewis. I was contacted by them a few months ago and they have now sold my two bedroom flat in Pimlico.The money is now in my bank account gaining interest.My optimistic asking price was £550,000, and Jake Tharp, the Assistant Branch Manager, managed to achieve a respectable £530,000, with property prices in London falling all the time, and a potential general UK financial crisis on its way very soon.They are all good people, professional, proactive, friendly and patient in a stressful activity for us all. I recommend them to everyone.

I am deeply disappointed with the services provided by Barnard Marcus regarding our stay at Horizon Apartments, Flat Number 1, CR2 7FA. My friends and I, all students, have faced numerous issues with the return of our security deposit. Despite the contract clearly stating that the deposit should be returned within 15-30 days, it has been well past that period with no funds credited to our accounts. Our attempts to contact the agents have been met with ignorance and even mockery, which is highly unprofessional and distressing. Additionally, we incurred extra expenses for an initial Airbnb stay and cab fares due to the delays in accommodation arrangements, which were promised to be reimbursed but have not been honored. This entire experience has been mentally exhausting and feels like we are being taken advantage of because we are students. I strongly advise others to be cautious and consider these issues before dealing with Barnard Marcus. We are now forced to pursue legal action to get our money back, which is a situation no tenant should have to face. Worst Uk Sales/Lettings agency EVER. I didn't want to give them even 1 star. Sincerely disappointed

AND TREAT CLIENTS WITH RESPECT!!!The breakdown in communication happened from you, not us. You spoke to my partner about moving up the start of tenancy date to which you said you will let her know after presenting the offer to the landlord. You failed to do that. The dates were the issue here and you failed to notify either one of us that the landlord wanted to proceed with the originally given dates.I really don't appreciate how you have spoken to both of us. According to Victor, I never even spoke to you, which is false. You used the word negotiation on the phone to my partner. This means you should have come back to us and informed us of the dates being the ones given in the offer letter. At no point did Victor also say on Saturday that the holding deposit will be taken away immediately without any consent being given. You both do not seem to understand how to communicate with clients. You cutting the call on my fiancée is unacceptable. You raised your voice first. Victor saying that me and my partner are together means we are one is wrong. It is not my bank account and I am not authorised to make a payment on her behalf. It is illegal. If she did not pick up the phone, you had a responsibility to wait or at least email her, get her consent, then make the charge. Victor saying that this is now how you work as agents is shocking. You do not inform your clients before taking payment? How is that an acceptable business practice?You are saying you took the holding deposit after the landlord confirmed. At what point did you confirm this with either one of us? Victor said that he rang me and I gave him the go ahead. This never happened. It is you two who are messing up facts and diving deeper into miscommunication. Victor said you dropped my partner an email to confirm. This never happened. No email was sent. Before accusing us of falsifying facts, you both need to clarify your stories first and speak to prospective clients properly. You operate in a crowded business market. There is plenty of competition out there so why do you speak to genuinely interested people in this demeaning way?This tenancy is not going forward purely due to the miscommunication, lies, and making up of facts mostly due to you, Andreja. As my partner said, you took the money from her account without any consent or information, this money needs to be returned urgently. This has to happen as you both left us in the dark and did not communicate when you clearly needed to.Refund my money as soon as possible otherwise I will be taking legal action.

At times great at other times not great. Had the property on for 6 months, not lots of viewings but a fair few. Some staff care about the customer whilst others don’t really. The experience wasn’t amazing but as expected. They took the property off the market a month ago, I had to chase and ask why and they said it should still be ok. It’s been a few weeks and still hasn’t been put on. We’ve dis instructed them because of the above.

I have recently moved into a new property with help from Barnard Marcus. What a smooth and seamless transition everything was! So easy; no stress or confusion - myself and my fiancée felt so blessed by how everything worked out and how this particular company was so helpful! There is a clear excellence and determination that their work is carried out with and this provides a distinction and stand-out service compared to other estate agents that I have gone through before. But I say all of this to emphasise that this was only possible because of Joe! Ultimately, all of the positive remarks above are aimed towards him because he is the one who assisted us and did so much and was so communicative throughout the entire process, never leaving us in the dark.
