TrustpilotMislead me about a property, then mislead me about exiting the tenancy.
An agent with the Guildford branch mislead me about the accessibility of an apartment, telling me that the clearly visible lift in the stairwell should be working by the time I moved in. I found out two weeks into the tenancy that there were never any plans to fix it whatsoever. I contacted them immediately about the mistake and said I wanted to have the contract cancelled, and they ignored me for a full month. After one month and a follow-up email, they said they would allow an early termination but would force me to pay the landlord's fees in relisting the apartment + rent for the month I spent waiting on them. I said this was unacceptable, and they came back several weeks later saying they would sign a surrender agreement on my chosen date, now requiring me to pay 2 months of rent, only to walk that offer back a few days later and try to add a confidentiality clause preventing me from ever mentioning that this had happened. I said I wasn't comfortable doing that (and you have to wonder how many people have been bullied out of speaking publicly about experiences like this one), but gave them a date on which I would be vacating the property regardless of outcome - since I had already planned to move into a new apartment on that date, given their earlier communication.They booked a checkout process, tried to book a viewing, then cancelled their own checkout process and are now claiming I would only be refunded any rent paid up to the date the landlord agrees to sign the surrender agreement, which is likely to be at minimum 3 months of rent for the privilege of being stuck in an inaccessible apartment and waiting for them to respond to my emails.The PR team who monitor feedback on this website respond pretty quickly to poor reviews, but the agents who deal with your issues will not. Consistently terrible organisation, improperly trained staff, and no respect for their tenants. Renting from Seymours was an extremely expensive mistake.

GoogleCraig Custance is by far, the best agent in Surbiton. We initially dealt with Craig when looking to buy in 2016, but disappointingly, we ended up purchasing via another agent. Roll on 2 years and when looking to sell our beautiful flat, Craig was the obvious choice. His positive approach to his job is infectious and despite a tediously slow transaction, we got there eventually, which was no doubt due to his perseverance and excellent negotiating skills! We have been kept informed about viewings and we feel Seymours were positive about our house. The valuation was a bit too high initially but we thought it would help with negotiation. However, we eventually decided to drop the price dramatically and we started to get some more offers. They could be a bit better with more regular feedback.

If I could give them zero I would!! Absolutely shocking service!!! Booked in to view flats for this to be rescheduled 4 times by them!!! To be told we will definitely see the 1 flat we want to… email them to confirm this to be told they will try and request this?!?!!! Not to mention they take days to response to email and everytime they have cancelled it’s been with in a couple of hours of viewing after sorting out an early finish at work for them to cancel and expect us to be flexible when they have already cancelled 4 times

GoogleSeymours in Surbiton were recommended to us by a friend and we would definitely advise anyone we know to use them. Friendly and professional, out of 4 estate agents we initially met with, John and Nick were the most willing to give a realistic valuation rather than an inflated one. Our estate agent Craig was simply brilliant. He pinpointed which of his network of clients would be most interested in buying our flat, and found a buyer for us twice within a few days (the first one fell through as we had to pull out of our purchase) and the second buyer was gained at the same price point in a falling market. We then had a difficult chain to contend with, but Craig was great at giving us advice, keeping us informed, dealing with the other estate agents & solicitors in the chain and generally helping to ease the stress, and always with a smile on his face! So pleased we went with them, we would definitely use them again.

Craig was extremely professional throughout the process as were all the other members of the team that I dealt with (Nick and Sam).
