Hunters proved themselves to be the best estate agent I have ever sold a property through. The initial visit and valuation were completely professional, honest and trustworthy. We had the standard three valuations and selling costs and from the start they proved to be ahead of the game with knowledge and commitment. Having decided that they were to act for us they proceeded swiftly with photographs and literature preparation, producing error free material in just a couple of days and the sale went live on the weekend just 24 hours from the photo's being taken. They marketed the property effectively and followed up all leads, once the right buyer had been identified they worked to consolidate the sale. I received numerous updates the whole way through and was never left wondering what stage any part of the process was at. An unfortunate attitude from Hunters

My boyfriend and I were purchasing a property through Hunters and they were pleasant enough. However, when we received the results of the independent survey two months down the line, it highlighted what we considered to be significant problems with the property, particularly the necessity of a whole new roof, and the replacement of brickwork.Naturally, we had not - and could not have - factored in the cost of these repairs, or the time it would take to carry them out, so we emailed our contact at Hunters in Sunderland, simply outlining the issues that the survey had presented, and attaching the report in full. The reply we received explained ‘The seller is not under any obligation to carry out any work or offer a reduction’. While true, this attitude seemed hostile to us, and rather unprofessional. We did not mention a negotiation of price, or the current owners carrying out the work themselves - although, to be frank, these did not seem unreasonable expectations.We had misgivings about how considerable an undertaking the repairs would be, both financially and physically, but were open to discussing options with Hunters/the sellers. However, we decided to withdraw from the sale, and Hunters’ attitude did play a big part in that. As a prospective buyer, you do not have a choice over which estate agent to deal with, but I would certainly be reticent about purchasing a property sold by Hunters in the future, and would strongly advise sellers to consider the overwhelmingly negative reviews on this page before engaging Hunters, as the wrong estate agent could scupper a sale, as in this case.

Dishonest and unprofessional

We drove over 250 miles to view a house listed for let @ £900. We said we like it and were happy to proceed, after all similar properties down south cost £1000 a month….We were absolutely shocked when they got back to us, offering us the house for £1000 because they knew we could afford it… we were aghast! I have never ever encountered such skullduggery and dishonesty…. Of course we declined… how can one deal with such a dishonest estate agent as these!

Hunters were an absolute please to work with from valuation to completion. Steve came round and valued our home free of charge even though I made it clear we had no intention of moving at that time. He said they never mind that because if they leave a good impression at valuation then people will remember that come back to them when they move. We did just that, and we are so glad we did. Everyone at the company is so proactive in getting each stage sorted as quickly and efficiently as possible that we never felt the need to chase things up. When we hit a few sticky points they went above and beyond to help get them ironed out, and at no time throughout the whole process did I feel it was an inconvenience taking calls or handling emails. I would recommend Hunters to anyone thinking of moving, they just make it so easy, and for a flatt fee you know exactly what you are paying as well so there is peace of mind on that front.

We bought and sold with Hunters and from deciding to sell our beautiful home to completion on our new home Hunters, specifically Jack have been brilliant. Our home was photographed, listed and sold within 24 hours with 3 offers on the table, and secured the deal with an offer over the asking price, he worked extremely hard throughout what was, at times, a challenging process with very demanding client (me). He took it all in his stride, and bought some much needed humour to the process. The whole team kept us informed, even when someone tried to sabotage the deal, they dealt with it professionally, effectively and efficiently. If we were to move again ( we're not!!!) We would 110% use and definately recommend using Hunters. They are not the cheapest, however you are getting a service worth paying a bit more for. Thank you from The Lewis'

In one line Hunters made what is generally a very stressful experience as easy as possible. From the start from our initial meeting when I was looking to put my house on the market, Harry came round and made me feel at complete ease about the whole process. Jack then came round to take the photos and was a huge help. I could tell just from those two visits that Hunters truly cared and wanted to provide me the best possible service and outcome for my sale. He helped me with advice on how to make my photos and home look perfect. I had block booked viewings immediately and sold my house within 2 days. Throughout the process of me selling my home and buying my new home, Hunters (Harry specifically) supported me through everything. Having never sold a home before I had so many questions about the process and he was always on the other end of the phone to help. When Harry wasn't available, other members of the team were happy to help where they could. The estate agent that I was buying my new home through let me down massively with complete lack of or no communication and no interest in pushing things through, Harry massively picked up the slack. Above and beyond what I would ever have expected him to do. Overall, I can honestly say, although I know that Hunters are extremely busy with lots of clients, there wasn't a day where I didn't feel like it was their priority to help me. I feel that if it wasn't for having Hunters on my side, my sale and purchase of my new house would have been extensively delayed. I cannot thank or recommend Hunters enough for anyone, couldn't have done it without them.

If you are looking for a proactive and professional Estate Agent then Hunters in Stourbridge are the one. Jack in particular is fantastic and this certainly rubs off on the rest of the team. They call back when they promise they will and have kept us updated throughout the whole process. Nothing was too much trouble and their positive and upbeat attitudes are very rare to find. Hunters are a breath of fresh air and a pleasure to deal with during the stressful selling/buying process. I would not hesitate in recommending Hunters Stourbridge and have sang their praises a number of times to friends and family. Thanks again to Jack and all of the team, you were truly fantastic and other local estate agents (naming no names) need to take a leaf out of your book. Our property was on the market for over 8 months with another agent and only one viewing , we decided to try Hunters who were brilliant from the beginning , the photos of our property were so much more professional and the feedback from the team just what we wanted . We had our first viewing after a week of being with Hunters and soon had an offer we accepted. The sale went so smooth and everything completed within 6 weeks. As working professionals who can rarely get free time during the weekdays, it's extremely annoying to book days off to view properties to find they're by application, and we submitted our application the day we viewed, only to have the application be rejected because it wasn't processed in time before the landlord accepted an alternative application. Hunters Horncastle:If you are looking for an EA who keeps you updated and informed then I would NOT use Hunters, if you want the privilege of paying for doing your own work then by all means use this EA, also if you want to feel as though the EA is acting on behalf of the buyer instead of the seller… this is the one for you!!! They say the right things to get the initial business and then offer bad advise and never any follow up or conversations about the state of the market during contract period, even when requested. Also emails and WA messages were ignored. Worst Estate Agent I’ve ever used. It seems that Katherine (who did the viewings) and Susan (admin) seem to hold them just above water and do all the donkey work. Just my honest opinion!! Would have given zero rating if possible

I was buying a house through hunters

I was buying a house through hunters, wasn’t the best experience in the world. When it came to getting the keys from the bishop Auckland office, I was told to wait outside in the cold for 15 minutes, then presented with 1 key by itself, there was no congrats on your first home or any welcome gifts or anything, just here’s your key, see you later 👍🏼😂 got into the house, it wasn’t clean, the kitchen had been flooded which warped all the kitchen floor which I then had to pay to get it sorted. They should have done a check once the owners were out the house in order to make sure it was in a fit state and as seen on the viewings. I’ve since rented out houses around that area and stayed well clear of hunters, I would never use them again after the experience I had with them.

Poor overall! The property we were interested in was over valued by more than 10% and yet they wanted offers in excess of ?! My communication with staff was defensive and not amiable not sure why! My advice check out your move to check the property is actually worth what they say it is? Before you buy 🤗
