GoogleI’ve dealt with Keates both as letting agents and to sell two properties. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Andrew’s knowledge of the local market is superb and his advice is clear and realistic. Communication is great - emails are replied to very quickly - and they have consistently gone above and beyond to be helpful. When selling, I trusted Keates to recommend a firm of solicitors and they were fantastic as well.

GoogleThis estate agent has very poor customer service. We made a booking with them to view some houses and got our confirmation email for 3pm. We arrived at the 1st house at 2:44pm and nobody turned up. We called the estate agent serval times and got no response. We drove to the estate agent and was told that they had our booking down for 2:30pm and that they were trying to contact us however the number was incorrect. The young lady was quite unsympathetic about the mistake they had made regarding our booking and did not even want to reschedule our appointment. I travelled quite far to come with a baby to view houses just to be told that because of an error on their side they can’t do anything about it. We are cash buyers and we were really looking forward to doing business with this estate agent, however the customer service today was poor. I hope they can do better in the future.

GoogleI would NOT recommend anyone to use this company. The experience we have had from them is unbelievably rubbish. I would tell everyone about my experience if only there was enough space for it.. but long story short Andrew hounded us to let him let the house for us. He did nothing and apart from say that he has rang the tenant when the rent was late… we paid him a percentage of the rent for him to make sure the rent was paid on time… he should of inspected the property which he did once in 2 years on my request. The property was a state when we eventually got it back and it took 4 month to get the deposit.which should of taken no longer than 28 days.This company LIES I was told on a number of occasions that solicitors are closed which they aren’t FACT and have never have been all through covid KEEP AWAY FROM KEATES they are a rubbish companyNegativeValue
What can I say. I am Andrew and most other reviews massively disagree, so you can draw your own conclusions about Keates. We are all relieved that the matter is drawn to a close and we are not suprised at the review given the calls endured. I am sorry we could not meet the clients expectations but we did all we could including securing possession without the need for a lengthy and expensive court process. I wish to thank my team for their conduct and professionalism.

GoogleAbsolutely useless estate agents, stay well clear, I rented an house for 8 years... which I never actually had a new tenancy agreement wrote up for the last 3 years of living there. They only want the money they don't care about jobs etc need doing to your property. General wear and tear on carpets. Which are obviously 8 years old to be told I won't receive my deposit back because all carpets are to be replaced! What do you expect??? Avoid using this company at all costs.
As an agent sometimes we have to reluctantly seek a claim on a deposit which we do not profit from. In terms of time its the contrary. You have the right for the matter to ADR as your deposit is protected. I wont go into the reasoning or a rebuffle of the above but simply state the condition the house was returned was in your hands not ours. It was not satisfactory given the 6 year lease.

GoogleI recently sold the same property I purchased through Andrew Johnson at Keates with no previous dealings. It was clear he was an honest and decent individual who was knowledgeable and professional about local matters. When returning to him to sell the property some years later....his TV fame found during that period had only improved his management of the sales issues especially when tenanted. He went beyond any other agents abilities and willingness in virtually project managing the sale through dealings with all parties, and guiding me through a better method of selling with less risk, and no extra cost. In over 35 years of property experience I have never had such professional and personal service throughout and beyond 5pm ! He puts all other agents in UK to shame with their inflexibility and uninterested attitude at silly commission rates. It's a pity no other agent I have come across in Staffordshire and Cheshire generally are not as keen and bothered or knowledgeable ! His and his staffs' communication with parties enabled smooth completion in these complicated times !PositiveProfessionalism
