TrustpilotRainsborough Park
I’m currently in the process of buying my first home. Ever since Gleeson started building on the Rainsborough Park development I knew that’s where I wanted to buy my first home. I first went and enquired about the new phase that was due to be released back in April. Sharon the lovely sales lady there took all of my details and kept in touch with me to keep me informed of any updates. The customer service that she provides is above and beyond. The reservation process was very straight forward, with being a first time buyer I didn’t know what to expect with the whole process but sharon has being an absolute star! I receive weekly updates and photos of my plot (I’m forever grateful for this as I can’t get close enough to see my plot myself). Sharon is always at the end of the phone to answer any questions and always has a very welcoming smile on her face in the sales office. I can’t thank her enough for everything her and Gleeson have done for me so far, without them I wouldn’t have found my dream first home!

TrustpilotRainsborough Park
I am currently in the process of purchasing my Lisburn at Rainsborough Park. From my initial enquiry back in April I have had nothing but helpful and friendly communication from Sharon. I enquired about the development initially about a 2 bed. Following the recommendation to contact meridian mortgages it transpired I could easily afford a 3 bed property.I contacted Sharon detailing my new revised budget and was advised of soon to be available properties. I reserved my home in May, I receive weekly build updates and photos. Sharon is always on the other end of the phone for advise or guidance. I cannot fault Gleeson at all, the process has been so straightforward up to this point. Hopefully I will be in by the end of November! Thank you Sharon, you are a true asset to Gleeson.

We bought a Gleeson home at Middlestone Meadows (Kilkenny) moved in December 2020, we love it here and the Sales Representative Jane was really helpful and kept in touch throughout our move and it couldn't of gone any more smoothly. Site manager and other workers are very friendly and always on hand when needed any problems get fixed quickly. It is a lovely plot and are surrounded by lovely people. We would definitely recommend to buy a house on this development.

TrustpilotBad workmanship and Terrible customer set ice
I just wanted to write a review of my negative experience of this company. We have had problems from the start which began with a 4 month delay on the property being completed. We were due to sign for our home on a Friday morning and move in the following Friday. We were given a verbal guarantee that this would take place. 15 minutes before the sales office closed we received a call telling us not to come down and sign for the property as it had not had sign off from NHBC. By this time we had given notice on our rental property, booked a van to move our possessions etc. I went down the next morning and was lucky enough to speak to an area manager who didn’t care about the situation we were in and the fact we were goingto be homeless with a 6 year old child. I asked them if they were going g to pay for storage for our belongings and find accommodation for us, her reply was we do t do that, can you not stay with a relative. She didn’t understand why I was becoming irate with the situation we had been out in. They way she spoke to me was appalling. Anyway, we moved in 10 days later, although we had no problems with the building itself we noticed the back garden was an absolute mess. The way the turf had been laid was awful, we put it down to the fact it was new and done what they told us - water it regularly. This didn’t get any better so I decided to take the turf up and lay artificial grass instead. I planned the work carefully and calculated we needed 6 tonnes of aftercare to lay the grass on. When we got started on the work we found out that there was a 50 cm left to right slope over 6 meters. We laid and extra 11 tonnes of aggregate to right this slope, I now gave a beautiful back garden no thanks to Gleesons. I started to receive letters about the state of the front lawn, thus again resembled a weed patch, despite being cut regularly by my Gardner and neighbour this got worse with time. I asked Gleesons for permission to lift the turf at my expense and lay artificial grass, they denied me permission under the 5 year covenant. I continued to receive letters about the state of the lawn and after several email exchanges they said the would let me have permission if we paid them £250. I emailed back and said I was insulted by this and I wanted them to come and sort the problem, the lawn had also now sunk by about 4 inches and was u set the level of the drainage covers where it originally was when we moved In. I received Another email from then with a picture of my garden saying the weeds were a result of us not taking g care if the garden and as we had moved I. 3 years prior to complaining they were not going to put this right but they would waive the 250 fee. I have pointed out that the 4 inch sinkage is nothing to with neglecting to care for the grass and this is sub standard workmanship. They originally told me the council would not allow artificial grass but then said it was ok if we paid the fee. I just urge anyone thinking of dealing with this company to this k long and hard before doing so, I understand they build affordable homes however this shunned the give them the right to cut corners and complete below par work. Once they have received money from you, yiu are simply forgotten and there customer care / customer service is none exsistant. I just want to share my negative experience of this joke of an outfit with anyone thinking of purchasing from them. You don’t need to look far to find dozens of other unhappy customers.

TrustpilotOUR DREADFUL GLEESON HOME
My wife and I bought a gleesons home in September 2023 and have had nothing but problems, we were told on 3 separate occasions including at the point of sale that NO houses would be council/social housing, then 2 months ago we found out (without consultation) they sold several properties which they had trouble selling to the local council and they changed the covenant which we signed to (also without consultation). We would NEVER had bought the house under such conditions and gleesons have flatly refused to compensate us or apologise. Our doors to the house have NEVER locked since the day we bought it and we have contacted the endlessly since September 2023 it is now nearly June 2024!!!!!.The salesperson who sold us this house is particularly awful and a liar, we were told our house had a sea view which was untrue and we asked her 3 times about the social housing and she promised us this would never happen, she couldn’t have been nicer until we had problems then we were brushed off like we didn’t matter. There is still no road surface despite being topped out months ago.DO NOT BUY A GLEESON HOME YOU WILL HAVE NOTHING BUT TROUBLE

TrustpilotNo issues with Gleeson
Moved into our house in March after reserving in a February 2019. Lots of delays due to Covid etc... However the staff at Gleesons kept me well informed with how the build was going and answered all my questions quickly.I read lots of mixed reviews about Gleeson new build homes and can honestly say that I am happy with choosing Gleeson. On moving in we had a slight leak, I reported this on the portal and this was rectified the following day...The builders on site are really helpful too, any questions and they will help.

TrustpilotCustomer Service - Not !
Customer Service? I think Gleason Homes need to go back to customer delivery School ! We had a pre-arranged appointment to view a new build project. We arrived and the sales person did not know who we were as no details had been added to the appointment. Great start! Then he wouldn’t let us all in (2 adults, 1 child). Then when he found that the booking was in my name he let me in, but then kindly let us all in. We then proceeded to have the most terrible customer service experience to date! These were the highlights:1. Gleeson - Do you have shoe covers? Us - no.2. Gleeson - they might be in that cupboard behind you, could you just have a look? Us (thinking) isn’t that your job? 3. After the viewing we asked; can we have a look in the garage please? Gleeson - No, it’s locked ! 4. Us - How much is the ‘Liffey’ please ? Gleeson - I don’t know! 5. Us - We would really like a ‘south facing garden’Gleeson - well you can’t always get what you want. How many days do you spend per year in your garden? You have to make a compromise between the property and the garden. There was way more, but by now, to be honest, we just wanted to get out of there. To coin a well known phrase: “you don’t get a second chance to make a first impression” - Goodbye Gleeson Homes, it was.........er..........interesting!

TrustpilotAvoid - unprofessional cowboys that lie and deny issues
Avoid at all costs. Have been trying to escalate a complaint since March 2020 and no formal complaints resolution procedure. Head office and site management try to lie their way out of everything. The most recent attempt to escalate the complaint went to Head of Construction and resulted in him trying to pin issues on us! We knew we were buying an entry level home but it's no excuse for laziness, lies, poor work and failure to accept anything is wrong. We anticipated cheap fixtures and fittings but expected straight walls at the least. There is not a single straight or smooth wall in the house, joins are visible on walls and plasterboard outlines are visible on ceilings. Being told “you bought a cheap home” by the site manager in response to not actually being able to open your front door without issue gives you an idea of the level of customer care. We've been made to feel like inconveniences simply for wanting defects rectified. The process was shocking - the site manager rushed us around snagging and attempted to dissuade us from checking things. He also threatened us with £150 callout fees if they didn’t deem defects enough of an issue. The approach was to intimidate young home-buyers - if buying a Gleeson home, invest in a snagging service. Most snags were bodged and not fixed. Many staff are subcontracted and largely don’t care. Those that do care have apologised to us about the state of our house and garden and don’t stay long either.I’ve booked time off for defects to be fixed and despite reminding site management, they often failed to organise the works or order the materials in time. I’ve now lost 5 weeks holiday for works to be rectified since we moved in. It feels as though staff are incompetent and don't care once they’ve sold a house. With a shielding partner I explained the fewer visits into the house the better, it feels they’ve done the opposite!* Walls and ceilings scratched & dented, none of the walls are smooth or straight* Stair handrail fell off, bannisters broke within 6 months* After reporting loudly knocking pipes when water is run, we had a plumber inform us the pipework wasn’t fitted correctly and notches in the joists weren’t made big enough for the pipes to expand. Gleeson denied this and sent handymen out to "fix" it 4 times which has actually made it louder. The site manager has now advised it is not their problem and will not be further rectified* Airbricks do not meet NHBC standards. The airbricks are level with the grass, which slopes downhill towards the house so we’ve had damp come through the internal wall which caused mould and wet the carpet. We were told to “wipe it off”*Front door frame wasn’t installed straight which led to the front door sticking regularly. I was able to yank it open but my partner on countless occasions had to leave out the back because she couldn’t open the front door. Their own carpenter advised it was not fitted straight, yet head of construction still denies this* NHBC standards state the first 3 metres of garden around the house should not get waterlogged but ours is waterlogged every time it rains. Gleeson advised that no drainage was put in as none was needed. Due to the slope of mud working its way towards our front door and covering the patio and due to Gleeson refusing to acknowledge any issue, I paid for a metre high retaining wall, to prevent the mudslide getting worse. I pulled out wire, glass, chunks of tarmac and cement, bottles and sacks of rubble and were told these were “small fragments” that had worked their way to the surface. Robert Smith, Head of Construction, has now blamed water logging and the “small fragments of rubble” on the retaining wall, despite me sending him pictures of the waterlogging and rubble 2 months before work began * Kitchen concrete around patio doors wasn’t levelled and has the texture of gravelContracted plumbers/joiners/landscapers advise us that our house has defects and apologise for the state of our home, yet management deny it. If we could hand the keys back and walk away we would.

Bought a property on the Balderstones Estate I completed Dec 17th 2020 I'm really pleased with my property and any issues (to be expected with a new build) have been dealt with quickly. The on site builders are always helpful I've no complaint at all. The process of buying the house was easy and the sales staff helped me through every bit of the process the only delay was caused by Covid 19 and wasn't gleeson fault at all . My 1st contact Debbie was amazing and just before I completed she left for pastures new I wish her all the best . Her replacement Jamie Hudson has been brilliant and he finished the completion and has dealt with any issues I've had in a polite and professional way and wish him every success within his role .I would recommend Gleeson on the service I have received I can't fault them.

TrustpilotDont even waste your time buying from…
Dont even waste your time buying from this company. They have a portal to report defects whats actually pointless as we have reported a long ongoing list which only got acknowledged when head of customer care got involved just to point out that hardly any defects have been resolved. Nobody checks the defects you report i rung head office after reporting no hot water and this company was happy to let us be left with no hot water. When they gave us our keys not one issues had been fixed what was identified in final inspection still not resolved everything now nearly 2 months after moving in. When they gave us our keys we had a leak coming onto our stairs which they had previously tried to cover up rather than fixing, a private plumber sorted the leak for me but gleesons are aware an not one person has come to resolve the disgusting water mark on the celing. If you want a house what is plastered well with smooth walls and painted well then don't buy from these our house needs rooms replastering and the whole house needs redecorating as paint is missing or runs chips in doors skirting boards just shabby work. Not one but two of my kitchen cupboard have been damaged when they were fitted from over tightening the screws gleesons are now trying to say that we have broke one of the cupboards even though its been damaged since we got the keys. My downstairs bathroom sink has been cracked since we got the keys have been told several times it will be replaced? You guessed it still got a broken sink. There is a screw sticking out in our garage straight infront of our side door we found it when my partner was stepping to garage and hit it with his head luckily he didn't take his eye out. Everything they do is half done. I have had customer care come to the property speak to site who promised everything would be sorted they sorted 5 things out 2 weeks ago havent seen site management since, was advised a week for delivery for kitchen cupboard 2 months ago oh and again 2 weeks ago. The list is endless including missing insolation, drain pipes not attached, huge leak at front of property when we moved in, extractor fans constantly breaking, plumbing issues. We also paid for a bt Internet port to find out they fitted us a TV Ariel, have been asking for nearly 2 months for a refund been told I will get it still no further forward gleesons firts response was oh well we will come in your house and just take all the plasterboard out and do it? Not acceptable when I now live here these problems should be resolved before people are allowed to move in! Also dont let them turf your garden because again they can't do a job correctly.

TrustpilotPlot 101 Balderstones, 53 Beconsfield Road
Recently completed on our Lovely New Home by Gleeson on the "Balderstones" development and i can honestly say we are more than happy with the service we received. We started our purchase at the beginning of the first COVID lockdown in Feb 2020 and so all was delayed through no fault of Gleeson but throughout we have had constant updates and communication keeping us up to date with the development of the build and any administration work needed to be carried out. Meghan Dunne was who originally sold us the house but had to leave for Maternity reasons but was fantastic in her recommendations and advice leading up to that point. Debbie Howarth who was also dealing with us has left the company but we was very happy with the way she dealt with us and kept us informed all the way to her leaving. On continuation we have had Jamie Hudson taking on her role and we are both very happy at the way he has also kept us in touch with everything going on whether it was any delays on the build due to COVID restrictions or anything else. Good communication is what makes things easier these days and this has all been a very easy process with Gleeson for that reason alone. All in all, We love our new house and will be here for a long time and cant recommend this company enough in keeping their word . A very big thankyou to all the team!.
