Harry from Allen and Harris, supported myself and my partner with our mortgage process and application. This included 3 x face to face appointments. During the appointments harry was very professional, friendly and approachable. Things we didn’t quite understand, being first time buyers, were explained in great depth. Not only did harry sort out the mortgage application, but also all the important insurance covers too. May I add, 10 days after our mortgage application was submitted, we had an email back to say it was accepted! Much quicker than what we thought the process would take! ☺️ thank you! We would definitely recommend

Rude and unhelpful

My goodness - where to begin… Allen and Harris clevedon branch Somerset. I’ve dealt with a lot of estate agents, as I’m sure most of us have. I’ve bought houses, sold houses, and rented more times than I’d have liked. This estate agent was by far the worst I’ve dealt with- which is saying something as we all know what they are like to deal with. Lack of communication Lack of customer service Lack of knowledge Lack of understanding Lack of basic assistance Lack of professionalism to a very high standard I dealt with two agents from this branch and both were not only unhelpful but rude and failed to do even the most basic of tasks when dealing with my rental. Both myself ( the renter) and the client ( the home owner) have been stunned by the complete lack of service. I can safely say I will never use this agency again and will make sure I don’t deal with any of the branches in the future - I will actively not peruse any further business dealings with the entire company - not just the clevedon branch. Up to you if you use them- just be ware and be prepared to do a lot of the work yourself and deal with really very rude and unhelpful staff.

Thoroughly recommend Allen and Harris

Thoroughly recommend Allen and Harris. Selling a house that was my grandparents and latterly my late parents was a difficult and emotional thing to do, coupled with me living a two hour drive away. The team were very kind, thoughtful. Kept me up to date and really went above and beyond, offering to get legal paperwork from their office to my solicitors for me. I would particularly mention James Lamb and Connor Sherman. I wouldn't hesitate to use Allen & Harris for buying or selling any property.

Absolute joke

Emailed to ask for a viewing of a house, was called by (apparently) the head office and told it would be booked in. We arranged our day around the viewing and got excited to view what looked like a really lovely house. I got a bad feeling the day we were meant to view it as I hadn't had any confirmation email and was told that I hadn't been booked in at all. I then asked to book it in for another evening and my details were taken this time. Again, arranged our day around the viewing, didn't receive a confirmation email. Rang again and was told that it hadn't been booked in, they didn't have my details on the database and the vendor had said they only wanted people that were ready to buy to view the house and because mine is going through the process of being put on the market, that I couldn't view it. Absolute joke. Wasted so much of our time. AND they had the balls to ask if we needed an estate agent to put our house on the market - as if I would go anywhere near them now. Will be avoiding any houses that are being sold by them now and in the future.

I got off to a bit of a rocky start with the branch, but once addressed they were brilliant. Kate, the branch manager worked with us whilst purchasing a house through them. Very friendly and helpful. Always returned my calls and helped with things that weren't even her job to help with. A big thank you to Kate for everything. We have been in our house for 4 weeks now and couldn't be happier.

I used the tenant finding service from Stoke Gifford letting office in Bristol. The tenants viewings were arranged efficiently. In the process, the letting agent uses numerous companies’ names for operations, which are confusing and difficult to understand why. Currently the company still holds the tenant’s deposit for over two weeks without transferring it to the deposit protection service as the manager initially promised. When asked about the deposit, the manager said he will chase with their accounting department about the issue. After a week has passed and I received the warning from DPS they have not done the transfer. I get no reply with phone calls and emails. It is a bit worrying.

STOKE GIFFORD AVOID LANDLORDS 0 stars! AVOID AVOID AVOID Only Used them for a year and I can’t stress enough avoid these like the plague! Please do not use them it’s been a experience from hell from start to finish Paying for full management then having to manage them no call backs, dodgy contractors being sent to the property quoting up to £15,000 in repairs after sending out two local contractors to inspect the same quote no work even required , asked for check ups of every two months received 2 check ups in 12months, tenants ended up ruining the house but was never picked up as never inspected Accounts unreachable when query’s are made on invoices. Turn over of staff is crazy! Just as you start a complaints procedure with one member of staff or manager they leave then you need to start all over again with some one untrained in the company and just as you start getting some where they leave! After taking the management out with a branch less than 2 minutes around the corner it all then gets fobbed off to some one two hours away sequence Nearly £5,000 taken over the year and not worth 50p for what they have done !Allen and Harris Stoke gifford will be taking up legal proceedings as don’t feel it’s fair !

What an amazing Estate Agent....service way above and beyond the call of duty....A homeless person broke into our house after exchange and before completion...Horrendous... but Kate and the team were absolutely amazing, interfacing with locksmith, cleaners, police and solicitors, reading meters etc etc. Unbelievably efficient and they just couldn't do enough for us! Unreliable and untrustworthy.This company has been a source of frustration for ourselves and our landlord.We had viewings deceptively organised behind our backs while living in the property, under the guise of agents being allowed to take photos.We also confirmed our deposit return with our landlord and agent and then received no deposit or response for over two weeks.My wife was told today after getting in touch it was not there responsibility, until we provided screenshots of the same agent who lied to us previously explaining he would communicate with the landlord and get back to us then failed to do so.Completely inconsistent, incredibly stressful, unprofessional and no accountability. I would advise caution before working with or renting through this company.
