Over the past 8 months I have viewed 14+ properties with 5 agents. Before viewing the majority of properties, I was dealing with days waiting just to hear back if I could view a property, weeks before hearing back if the landlord accepted my application or not, and disappointment and heartbreak as every application was refused by the landlord (which is understandable given that the Renters Right's Act 2026 unfortunately caused landlord's to be far more selective with prospective tenants). Then in mid-July of this year, I had the good fortune to see a flat advertised with Allen & Harris. I met Maisie and latterly Mollie, who scheduled me in for a viewing with an hour's notice, responded to my emails and queries by the next working day at the latest (or occasionally even after office hours) and I am now sitting in my new property, still reeling from the whiplash of it all! Maisie took the time to understand my circumstances, never made me feel rushed or unwelcome when we spoke over the phone, and worked to give me the best chance that I could get in my application to the landlord. When you have adverse credit, you get used to institutions and people viewing you as not-worth-the-risk, but Maisie and Mollie made me feel like a person, who, yes, had made mistakes in his past, but had also learned his lesson and was worthy of a second chance. I know it is silly to think that any of the experiences I had with other agent's was in any way personal, but enough rejections and that's where your head goes. Thanks to Maisie I now have a home from which I can start to rebuild and finally live my life, I will forever be so grateful and would say to anyone else who is struggling to find a home, if you haven't already, give Allen & Harris a visit. Be upfront and honest about yourself, obviously I can't promise that a home is guaranteed, but I can promise that you will be heard by an empathetic ear, who will take you seriously and treat you like a person, not an application form. I couldn’t recommend Mollie enough! She was absolutely amazing and incredibly helpful from the very beginning, made arranging and attending viewings such an easy and enjoyable experience. Justin McBarnet started by instigating a drop in the price of the house I was trying to buy & that enabled me to drop my price & things really started to move ! Thank you Justin. A God send !

Absolutely miserable experience once a buyer had been found. The office is unmanned or at least no one answers the phone in at least 8 out of 10 occasions and voicemail messages were often ignored. Our buyer complained of similar experiences. Allen and Harris pushed for Howells as conveyancers (no doubt some sort of tie-in) and they were every bit as bad. Moving is SO stressful and these two outfits made it so much worse. I would NEVER use either again.

I honestly can’t recommend Maisie and Mollie at Allen & Harris highly enough. Moving can be such a stressful process, but they both made everything feel so much easier from beginning to end. A special mention has to go to Maisie, who genuinely has the patience of a saint. I know I’m not the easiest person to deal with when it comes to things like this. I was constantly calling, emailing and asking all sorts of questions but she handled me perfectly every single time. She was always calm, reassuring, and never once made me feel like I was being a nuisance. Both Maisie and Mollie were always friendly, approachable and happy to help, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. They kept me updated throughout, answered everything quickly, and made sure I always knew what was going on. What really stood out was how caring and supportive they both were. It never felt like I was just another client, and it was clear they genuinely wanted everything to go as smoothly as possible for me. Their professionalism, patience and communication were excellent, and I’m so grateful for all of their hard work. Thank you both for making what could have been a very stressful experience such a positive one. I would highly recommend Maisie and Mollie to anyone looking for estate agents who are not only efficient and knowledgeable, but also genuinely lovely people to deal with.

A superb service from the Roath branch from start to finish. Vicki Crean visited us for the first time in February to discuss listing our home with her branch. She was clearly extremely knowledgeable, passionate, and had a level of tenacity which we felt would be important in such a competitive field. And we weren’t wrong! Vicki and the expert team at the Roath branch delivered exactly what she set out to do on that initial February visit. Even before our listing was visible and before it was live on Rightmove, we had viewings booked in. Nothing like hitting the ground running! We were initially looking at the open day route to maximise interest, but the team generated so many viewings that an open day wasn’t required. We received two solid offers inside a week of going live, with one accepted. What the Roath branch achieved for us was nothing less than perfect. We really couldn’t fault anything. The team made selling our home of 17yrs hassle free and easy. We didn’t meet all the Roath team, but in addition to Vicki, we personally met Harrison and James too, both of whom were lovely. The worst letting agent ever. They cannot manage your property and are very rude and provide the worst customer service ever. Being with this letting agent has been a nightmare, instead of helping landlords the so called letting manager Tiffany was very rude and explains she’s not a mind reader. She would never answer calls, disregard emails and also accidentally replies to a chain of emails to her colleague but includes us to say how we are ridiculous. Tiffany is so unprofessional and the service provided was appalling. We will never be using this letting agent and recommend not to use unless you want your house to be destroyed and not to have any support from the lettings agent you put your trust in to manage and maintain your property and to have the most appalling service. Stay clear and actually get your moneys worth with another agent.

We can’t thank Mollie enough for all of her help in finding us our new home. After a month of searching and feeling quite stuck, she went above and beyond to help us secure a place that was the perfect fit. After a very difficult process of moving where we had had some bad experiences with other landlords and agents/agencies, Maisie and Mollie gave us faith in humanity again 😅 They both went above and beyond to do *literally* everything they possibly could to get us into our new place and all set up, and showed us such kindness and compassion throughout (despite all my very annoying questions and anxieties, all of which they answered and addressed with understanding and empathy!!!) I went to Allan&Harris on Albany Road, during my visit, Liam Tresilian made some racial comments to me that he clearly thought were humorous. He was laughing while delivering his inappropriate remarks, seemingly oblivious to the discomfort he caused. Instead of fostering a welcoming atmosphere, his comments only served to highlight the insensitivity that can sometimes be present in social interactions. This experience left me feeling deeply ashamed and very uncomfortable, as I couldn't help but question why such remarks were deemed acceptable in any context. It was disheartening to encounter such ignorance, especially in a setting where I expected to feel safe and respected. I believe that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and kindness, and it was disappointing to witness such a lack of awareness regarding the impact of words.

I'm a vulnerable adult with a disability and find it very difficult to fill in forms online and on paper thanks to Allen and Harris I've seen a property for rent in a shared house they have made things much easier for me that I haven't had to fill in anything except from signing and producing my documents to them I'm amazed how quick and efficient the whole process has been I would recommend to everyone to rent with these estate agents I would describe them as being more organised and very friendly it makes a difference when vulnerable people get help id like to say a massive thankyou to Maisie and Mollie for helping me as they both have together
