GoogleMy partner and I attempted to rent a furnished flat through this estate agent. While I cannot fault their professionalism over the telephone, this process was highly frustrating for us as future tenants. My main objective is the unrealistic reassurance and expectations that were provided. When we first interested in the property, we were told on the phone of a specific move in date, a few weeks prior to the expiration of our current tenancy. This was followed by a lull of activity, where we were then told the flat was in high demand, and we were competing with other applicants. At no point was this mentioned, and this led to significant anxiety. Ultimately, the flat went to someone else. While I understand that it may be competitive to apply for a tenancy, this should have been communicated. It is clear that the priority here was making life easy for the landlord, while disregarding specific requirements of future tenants. Had I not been proactive in pursuing alternate properties, I may have been left without a place to move to at the end of my current tenancy.NegativeQuality

I am very sorry to hear you have experienced frustration and been unsuccessful applying for the property you wanted, especially the timescale involved leading to increased anxiety. We completely understand and wish ourselves the process was quicker and simpler. Unfortunately, to keep you, other applicants and ourselves safe at this time, there are certain protocols we must follow as a responsible lettings agent. Firstly, the initial viewing is via 360 interactive tour which you were sent immediately upon enquiry. You expressed further interest, so we sent you a tenancy proposal form and explained the process that it is then down to the Landlord of the property to decide which applicants could (in their opinion) make the most suitable long term tenants. Work continued behind the scenes and you remained on the Landlord's potential list. You emailed for an update on the 5th July and we reiterated the process to you within 40 minutes, that the landlord can take up to another week to decide who to offer a physical viewing of the property to. On the 9th, you made the landlord's short list, so you were offered a physical viewing. This you couldn't make due to work commitments, so on the 13th, we conducted a WhatsApp Live Viewing with you. The next day, you called to chase for a decision. We explained that we are waiting on the Landlord to decide whom to take a formal application from. We continued to chase the Landlord for a decision. They finally made up their mind on the 19th and we informed you immediately that the Landlord had decided to accept another applicants offer. At no point were you guaranteed the property and we explained verbally and in emails the process and that we are waiting on the Landlord. Work did continue behind the scenes, Lucia worked very hard on this particular Let. Once the pandemic is over, we will be able to return to a much faster process, but it will always be up to the Landlord who they accept as tenants and how long it takes them to come back to us. We assure you of our best efforts and attention at all times and I am very sorry you weren't successful applying for the property you wanted. I wish you well and good luck in your new home. GoogleWhen my husband started working in Cumbria we initially needed to rent our house out with a view to selling once we had settled there. We decided to go with Mark Antony as I felt that Katherine who came round to quote was very personable and that I would be able to get along well with her. I also thought that prospective tenants would get the same feeling and that she would be great at managing the property and keeping everyone happy. I wasn’t wrong, as she did a great job for us and found good tenants very quickly. Once we decided to sell we stayed with Mark Antony as our experience with them so far had been without problems or stress. We received the same high quality of service when Jenny Norton took over for the sale of our house and had a buyer for us within 3 months. She kept us informed regularly about how things were going and what stage other people in the chain were at. We found this really reassuring at a time when stress levels are high. We found everyone we dealt with at Mark Antony to be friendly, helpful, quick to answer questions and return phone calls. GoogleI've used Mark Antony Estates several times to find tenants for my house in Latchford. They have always done a fantastic job at finding good quality tenants and minimising voids. They communicate well as to what is happening, draw up accurate tenancy agreements and other documents and release funds promptly. I manage the house myself but as I don't live locally, Mark Antony Estates have been very helpful when it comes to organising Gas Safety checks and also putting me in touch with good quality tradespeople when I have needed the odd repair doing. I heartily recommend them.

Having bought and sold houses several times, I can honestly say that Mark Antony are the BEST I have ever encountered. GoogleWouldnt be my first choice of estate agents for selling or rentals. If this was my property they were trying to rent I would immediately pull the property and rent it myself. Service is not up to standard in my opinion. You cant respond to a prospective tenant/buyer with "All our letting staff are out on viewings, they will call you back Monday" Honestly? What kind of business are you running..
We're very sorry we were unable to answer all your questions when you called on Saturday. All our Lettings Staff whom had knowledge about the property you enquired about, were out of office accommodating an unusually high demand for viewings.
