Not a great experience

We went to Bridgfords because they got the best reviews on Google. OMG if they are the best, just imagine what the worst would be like. Gave us a very dodgy valuation 30% above what we eventually sold it for.

First time buyer, didn't have a clue where to start but following a chat with Angela and looking at the properties available I made a viewing. Really straight forward with them checking back in to make sure all ok and confirming the viewing. The pictures were true to the property and following two more viewings with Ryan who explained everything and answered any questions I had my offer accepted! The communication since then has been amazing and has made the process an enjoyable and exciting one.

I'm going through the sale process at the moment and there have been a couple of hiccups further down the chain. The whole team at Stockport have been excellent throughout, very professional, keeping me up to date and always available when I called. Special mention has to go Angela Tombleson who has been navigating through the issues further down the chain. She always seems to be able to get to the bottom of exactly where we are and who needs to do what. I'm so grateful for her support at a stressful time. Well done to all the team for their excellent customer service.

Do not trust them, they will rob you blind

Do not under any circumstances go with these! They will steal from you. They never asked prior to us applying whether we would need a guarantor and because it became obvious we did after application they decided not to go with us and stole our holding deposit from us. We a family with a small child and a baby on its way and they refused to give us our money back. They wouldn't budge a little bit. Not even offer a little bit back. Horrible estate agent that will rob you blind. Do not trust them!!!!

Zero engagement for deposit return

My tenancy ended on 9th Jan and I emailed Bridgfords to ask how I go about getting my deposit back.Emailed again on 15th Jan saying there had been no reply received to my request.An agent did respond so say someone from the deposit team would be in touch.Chased again on 22nd Jan advising that nothing had been heard - to date zero response.They were very good when it came to take my money. There can be no excuse for the lack of engagement. A dispute has been raised with MyDeposit.

Bridgefords did an absolutely brilliant job when selling my fathers house, I would like to single out 2 people in particular, Angela, who kept in touch constantly with updates on offers and viewings and Ryan who initialy valued the house and also kept us up to date on a regular basis, the rest of the staff who attended the vieings also deserve high praise, nothing was too much trouble to attend to and I would have no problem in using Bridgefords if and when the time comes to change my home.

I can highly recommend Bridgfords in Stockport & more so their senior sales negotiator Angela Tombleson. Although my sale was a bit more complex and lengthy than I hoped, I was always kept informed and involved by Angela. When it required conversation with Buyers and Solicitors, I was supported through this and given all the help I required. As I had moved away from the area, I also required assistance in showing potential buyers, workmen and even surveyors around and Angela dealt with it swiftly & professionally- nothing was too much hassle for her! I truly couldn’t thank her enough- top service!

I wouldn’t recommend. They set you up with an energy supplier even though you withdraw from an application. I didn’t even sign the contract and they raised an account without my consent. I had to be on the phone for almost an hour to close an account I didn’t even set up which will take 6-8 weeks with OVO. The staff at Stockport are lovely but I got spoken to like I was a child when I called up asking why this happened by Katherine when in the past she’s been nice. I don’t recommend Bridgfords. 👎🏾

A one star rating is too good for this business! Completely inept from the agent to their so-called professional mortgage broker. Allowed seller's solicitor to harass and bully me and also bombarded me with messages whilst at work but didn't answer calls when I tried to contact them. I am now out of pocket as seller has withdrawn the property even though it still shows for sale.

Confusing marketing

There's a For Sale sign been up on a house we've passed a few times over the past 2 weeks but can't find it on their website or Rightmove. I rang one of the branches to be told, indignantly, I'd rang the wrong office. I pointed out that there is no local office and as this one is relatively close by, I thought I'd try them. He said he had 'no idea' but he'd look. Terrible telephone manner, told him I'd look myself. Tried another office and was told it's not being marketed yet as the owner has been choosing the photos. Fair enough but I asked why the sign was up and was told because it's for sale. Very confusing. Sort yourselves out Bridgfords. Glad you aren't selling our house!

Bridgford's Halifax

We used Bridgford's in Halifax to sell our property. My main concern with them was that they hardly ever answered the telephone and relied upon an answer machine. Add onto this the fact that on numerous occasions they didn't return our calls. They didn't manage to sell our property and we do wonder if prospective buyers calls weren't returned either.Secondly feedback from them on enquiries, market data and ongoing support and advice was non existent. Overall customer service was poor to say the least.

Well... AVOID LIKE A PLAGUE

Well, where do I start? I don't recommend this agency at all. All the agents are useless. Customer service, professionalism is lacking at Bridgfords. We rented a property back in 2022, that we had to leave because mould and MICE both h&s hazards weren't solved and reported to the council (with someone vulnerable in the property). The flat was very dirty when we move in and now they are trying to charge us for the cleaning. They painted the flat and now they are trying to get this from our deposit. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. we have tried our best to solve these issues, but they have no decency. They always try to blame the landlord but I don't even think the landlord is aware at this point. please look for another agency and make yourself a favour.
