Excellent

We started off with an appointment with the Mortgage Advisor within Aberdein Considine, here we got great help and knowledge on how the whole process works, no question was ever an issue to ask!! We then went onto purchase our first property and the whole team was great from start to finish, could not fault anyone and it made it so much better that the timescale was super quick.

Disappointing

Terrible service from start to finish.Firstly, the advice from their in-house mortgage advisor was misleading and geared solely to him receiving commission, even going so far as to lie to us about our eligibility in getting a mortgage from another lender not associated with the firm.Secondly, after deciding to proceed with using their solicitor only we suffered poor communication throughout the process, unexplained holdups for weeks on end and surprise charges on the final bill which we had to question and request were removed! When trying to contact our solicitor Sean, every time we called we were told he was unavailable or we got the answering machine and he never once called back as we were told he would. He even had an answering message on his phone stating he was on holiday until March when we were at this point in July, which shows exactly their kind of attention to detail! At one point we were due to complete in 2 days time and had still received no update or requested paperwork and we turned up at the office unannounced in order to try and get some answers on the situation! Also very disappointed when asking about an agreement to be drawn up. Spoke with the in-house family law dept and was quoted £800. Decided against this as it was extra cost that I didn’t have after buying a property. Made some enquires independently and had an agreement drawn up for £200 in the end.During the whole process we felt like we didn’t matter and a no point felt valued.

Poor Experience

Very poor experience using Aberdein Considine to purchase a property. Left waiting for weeks without an update on progress. Everything left to the last minute which made the week before my move very stressful, despite the fact I had checked numerous times that they needed no more paperwork. Turns out they did with 4 days to go!! Emails and calls remained unanswered, seemed every time I was trying to get in touch she was not at her desk. Trying to call in my break from work to get an answer on whether or not the sale was going to go through after sending emails which were unanswered. Cannot believe how much I paid to be treated like this. Terrible service. Very much felt like a number and not a valued client. They really could not care less. Would NOT recommend and in fact have told friends to avoid.

Be aware

Having just moved from England to Scotland I rented a property managed by Aberdein Considine. As independent estate agents are not regulated by the council (my daughter rents through PKC and never had any issues with the flat or the landlord) agency really has no interest if the rental property is in a suitable condition to be rented out or not. Maintenance issues are handled incredibly slowly and with out care. I raised issues with the fact out of the 3 radiators in the property only 1 worked (just) and the kitchen window would simply fall out if it wasn’t secured by the flimsy latch causing a massive hazard, safety issue. Both bedroom windows couldn’t be closed correctly and seals had perished beyond use. The state of the property upon moving in it was clear it hadn’t been cleaned at all before I got there, and I don’t mean just a bit of dust! I had been in the property for about 10 days when I got round to informing Aberdein Considine about the issues (beginning of September) I was told someone would come out to measure the windows which they did after about a week and I was told it would take a month to replace...fast forward to November and still no communication! I then decided enough was enough! No help or communication, spending a huge amount of money to keep the property warm due to lack of suitable radiators, I searched online what I could do.By law every landlord has to comply with certain regulations in order to rent out premises. Property has to be waterproof, wind and draft proof and with working gas and electricity. Also any windows have to be secure and also in good working condition so you can air the premises and also avoid condensation. And all fixes and repairs are to be carried out in a reasonable time. The property I was renting out for 3 months since September 2020 (I have since moved out) was drafty, cold, electric heaters not working, windows falling out of the frame. All that the agency was able to do for me was to assure that it will be fixed some time in January. That’s 5 months after notifying the agency of the maintenance issues.Staff also not very pleasant to deal with, very arrogant. Does not accept accountability.

I cannot recommend the Aberdein…

I cannot recommend the Aberdein Considine team enough. From the minute I got in touch to explain I’m looking to move they were incredibly attentive and lovely to speak too. I have since sold my flat and bought a new flat and they have kept me up to date every step of the way. Such a lovely bunch of people that I will be using for future moves!

Property transfer

Aberdein Considine did a superb job for us on a recent property matter. Their quote was accurate and the work was performed in a timely manner. They really listened to us and understood our objectives. Using modern technology they effectively eliminated the effect of the pandemic.

Poor on too many fronts

Too many people dealing with my sale, for showings and on the legal side. Had to ask for signs to he put up. Many of the viewings weren't followed up as the people were uncontactable. Guidance when not selling was drop price, nothing else. if your property is on the lower end of the sale price side don't bother, go with someone else as these lot are not worth your money.

Superb service…

Can’t thank the team at Dyce enough for helping with the sale of my property. I was kept up to date throughout the process and I felt their advertising and social media was the best in the business which was important in what proved to be a difficult market. Thanks for all your help!

Yet more incompetence!

Yet more incompetence! Sent back hard copies, the relevant properties stapled together to avoid confusion (you would of thought). All in one envelope.Rang to chase and they’ve said they’ve received some but not all the documents!! The documents stapled together and all in the same envelope.More delays! Will be complaining to the leader regarding their choice of solicitor.

Highly Recommend

I have used Aberdein Considine a lot over the last 10 years and I have always found them to be very professional and efficient throughout that time. Some of the transactions have been complicated and it has never phased Gavin, Zoe and the rest of the team. Would highly recommend

Absolutely awful company

Absolutely awful company - STAY AWAY.Constant heating and hot water problems throughout the year and slow response times to fixing the issues. When there was a major plumbing issue it took them about a week to send someone round to fix it.When it came to ending the tenancy they charged us an extra month's rent because we didn't 'officially' end the contract by emailing them. And just to top it all off they charged me £10 (let me repeat: TEN POUNDS) because I lost a tiny bit of laminated paper attached to a keychain.I hope this company dies in a hellfire.

5 star service

We have moved several times now and I can honestly say that this is the best branch we have ever dealt with. They were punctual, friendly, helpful, and professional. I have given them 5 stars as they have taken the pressure off us immensely when moving house is already a stressful time. I would recommend them, and special praise to Jessica, and Greig for being brilliant.

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs. They have taken 3 months to organise a transfer of equity, and its still not done. They are uncontactable by phone and never reply to emails. I have basically done all the work for them, completed the transfer completed a week ago, and they have still not transfered the money. If i'd know Nat west would be appointing them I would have changed provider.
