TrustpilotNew build with Shelbourne estate
We moved in in our new build house at Hunsbury Grange in Upton! It's amazing so far and couldn't mention Jess and Lynne support from start to finish of our journey!!! Always being so supportive and positive! I feel that with Jess we are like family now!!!

TrustpilotPoor build Quality
The build quality of Morris homes is very poor, if you intend to buy one just be aware of this then you won't be disappointed when you are in....forget trying to complain customer care are not interested. I own a toaster with a better guarantee than my hose!

I’ve had a fantastic buying experience through Morris Homes! From reservation to completion, they kept me informed and up to date and were always on hand to answer any questions or concerns I may have had. They recommended a financial adviser and solicitor, both were great and I would definitely use them again. I legally completed and moved in in just 6 weeks thanks to the great team work of everyone involved!! Since moving in I have had a follow up call from a Director at Morris to ensure that everything is okay with my new home which I thought was excellent. There have only been a few minor snags, which is fully expected when buying a new build property and they have been dealt with quickly and efficiently. Overall I’m very happy with Morris Homes and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them or buy from them again!!

TrustpilotDeeply regret buying from Morris Homes
I’ve lived in a Morris Home for 10 years. And in addition to leaks through the ceiling and generally poor plumbing. The worst experience by far has been their complete neglect of the estate once you move in and they have your money. 10 years on the roads still haven’t been adopted by the local authority because they haven’t been completed by Morris Homes to an acceptable standard. Would never buy from Morris Homes again or live on an estate they manage.

Overall we are very happy with our lovely new home. What we didn't anticipate was the number of snags. We had previously bought a new build and did not experience snags to the scale of our Morris homes house. Having said that, when we have reported any snags Morris homes have sorted these in a timely manner except for our issues with our Bifold doors/conservatory which I believe is down to an external company's fitting faults. So while 8 months down the line things are still going wrong in our house, although this is very frustrating and sometimes feels like it's never going to end, the issues are getting fixed.

TrustpilotI wish I could give 0 stars
I wish I could give 0 stars! Absolute joke of a company. They lie to you, get your money and then you never hear from them again. The worst customer service. I live in a block of flats and we pay an expensive yearly service charge yet still things are going wrong and morris are no where to be found. And now we have RATS inside the building because they can’t fit kitchens properly apparently. And they lie to you to make a quick sale but you end up paying the price for it!

TrustpilotMorris Homes
Morris Homes have been wonderful to deal with. From the beginning the sales manager in the office was just wonderful, polite, helpful, nothing was ever too much trouble. Moving in was made easy and the team on site are available for any help needed. We had a slight issue with our snagging list being done but that was due to lockdown and as soon as possible the site manager saw to it that the jobs were done. We are still finding a few issues that are now going through customer service, so far that too has been great! Love our Morris Home!

TrustpilotThis is my 2nd new build I have purchased with Morris Homes
This is my 2nd new build I have purchased with Morris Homes on the same development and the only reason why I moved again was to gain a 4th bedroom because I originally had a 3 bedroom. I have dealt with them twice now and I have to say that everyone who I have spoken to have been excellent. As with all new builds there are snagging issues and you’re moving onto a building site until complete, which I accepted, but have to say that any snagging raised has been dealt with and there was not much compared to some horror stories I have heard in regards to other builders. My family and I can’t fault the house, the management of the move and support post moving in and so would recommend them to anyone, so much so that I was more than happy to buy a second property with them.

The sales lady was extremely helpful in a difficult process(due to our house purchaser),but we got there in the end. However, we have been very disappointed with the finish of the house ,mainly the pointing which after 4 months has still not been rectified, dampness under the lounge bay window outside, the windows, scratched, marked and one doesn't even fasten properly. At the beginning things seemed to get sorted quite quickly, given the circumstances, but now we seemed to have been forgotten. This has disappointed us as we like the house style and the location of the house, but we do wonder if these quite major snags will ever get rectified.

TrustpilotNew Build
We bought a Morris home in a fantastic location in Cheshire for £300,000 and that’s the only good thing about the house the location. The sales advisors tell you what you want to hear and then when you pull up problems they get a bit moody putting it nicely. The snags in the new build are endless from simple things like doors not closing ,paint all over carpet to major problems like leaks and heating not working, not what you expect for over a quarter of a million house. The site manager will just tell people to come to your house to do some snags but won’t communicate with you that they are coming. I don’t think this is just a common thing with Morris homes as all new builds from developers have these problems as I’m aware. On the plus side the assistant site manager If you chase him he will get things sorted quickly and I’ve also found customer care have been ok for me. The neighbours are lovely and I feel we all get on as I think we all have a mature understanding for each other as we all have issues with the houses. I probably wouldn’t buy from Morris again but I wouldn’t buy a new build from any developer full stop as it’s not worth the hassle. I have scored average and that’s being kind as in my experience so far they do try and get the snags sorted but that does not excuse the fact that if you spend all that money on a house you expect perfection.

TrustpilotDon’t buy new build
The house was delayed massively firstly due to covid (understandable) secondly waiting for parts that where supposed to be there before covid.Soon as they had our deposit sales team where hard to get a hold of and basically forgot about us. To the point where my solicitor was doing the communications for us to get a response. Since moving in the site manager has been great when you can get hold of him. Still waiting on a dripping shower to be repaired for 8 weeks. Will end up paying a plumber and giving the site the bill as it’s gunna eventually cost me money in water bills. If I had my time again I wouldn’t buy a new build. Although we do love the house just the hassle tied to it. All the delays sucked the joys from buying a new house

TrustpilotCustomer services are a disgrace
I’ll try an just put the bullet points down as it would take all day otherwise.Forgot to write on form 500 pound towards legal fees an only found out on day of completion so I had to pay it in the spot Gave wrong meter readings to company so I got a massive bill took me months to sort out Took 7 months to sort my emergency water stop tap out that had been plastered over I thought with it being an emergency this would be a priority but not to Morris homesThe customer services manager will agree with u over the phone then email u later saying the oppositeNumerous jobs still not done an I’ve actually given up cos they r useless Other neighbours have had the exact same problems so it’s not just me the customer service department is a disgrace mainly the manager he just isn’t interested in sorting the problems how he is a manager is beyond me

Throughout the buying process Morris Homes were perfect. Paula the sales advisor was amazing and any query I had she answered immediately. After I moved in I had to wait a week for an aerial, I had to chase this and had I not have I most likely would have been waiting longer. I am disappointed with the site management. I was told incorrect information by them for example I was told I would be coupled up to the sky dishes for the apartments I am attached to. After the assistant site manager spoke to one of the workmen, the workman advised I would need my own sky dish. This caused issues with Sky as they didn’t understand why I had originally given them incorrect information. I was also not happy as I was asked to give my keys to the site management so workmen could come in when I was at work due to my heating not functioning just after I moved in. I asked to be notified of when people would be in my house and this didn’t happen. I would also come home and my alarm had been turned off despite the fact I had set it when I left and confirmed with site management what the code was. The workmen who came into my house when I was there were amazing, the electrician apologised profusely about my heating being broken and he worked hard to fix it asap. I would also give credit to Carol the sales advisor who helped me over the weekend when my heating broke. Carol and Paula could not help me enough with any problem. Overall the site management are why I have scored average as they caused me unnecessary problems and did not have the knowledge of my property I would expect.

TrustpilotHighly Recommended
We bought the flat for my son to live in and found Morris Homes easy to deal with. The flat is well appointed and of a high quality. The site manager visited to check whether we had any queers and was very helpful and took trouble to ensure we were satisfied. He made a note of any repairs that needed attention and questions he needed to refer to others. The after sale service has been good though a little slow. The has been a couple draw backs regarding the site, there are too few parking spots for visitors some of which appear to be permanently occupied and access via the side gate is impossible as there is no key and is often locked. Despite a few niggling problems I would rate Morris homes highly and can recommend them if you are looking for a home.

TrustpilotStay clear. Poor workmanship all round
From the start of buying Morris said they pride themselves on their high standard of finish. When we moved in the garden wasn't even finished and took about 5 months for them to sort it. The standard of finish is below average. The walls are not even straight and the plaster work is atrocious. I have seen council houses with better finishes than my house. I also found out that the bricklayers who built mine and a neighbours house where fired due to their poor workmanship. The house and work looks like it has been done buy cowboys. The site manager and assistant ignore emails and takes them about 4 months to get anything sorted. In all honesty i wouldn't reccomend Morris homes, buy elsewhere.

TrustpilotWish I never bought from Morris Homes.
We loved the house but unfortunately that changed when we had a leak, 9 months later and the repairs are still not complete, the company is seriously let down but the customer care department. I have had so many days unpaid from work waiting in for tradesman to attend with no one showing up. Emails and calls with Morris are never returned. My wife has phoned numerous times in tears. It has been very stressful and not how we imagined it would be.I wish we never bought the house and we just bought a pre owned elsewhere.

TrustpilotUpton Dene, Chester - don't do it.
After living in our new Morris Homes house for over four years they have decided to now plonk a huge sales marketing suite right in front of our house and to make matters worse they are running it via an ancient electricity generator, which pumps out plumes of smoke and sounds like a tractor backing into our house. This just shows how much they don't care a damn about customers who have bought a house from them. We have not had one day of peace in over six weeks because the sales suite is open on Sundays. So if you are considering buying one only do it if the site has nearly finished. The house itself was nicely designed but thrown together. Our kitchen cupboards fell down and we have had a shower leak plus the sprinkler system installed was not certified to standard or commissioned.

TrustpilotIncredibly poor communication
Incredibly poor communication, quality of build is sub standard and when they have "finished" a site they disappear without completing works! Complete lack of regard or respect for people whom have spent many thousands of pounds on properties based on false promises.
