We have recently purchased a new home with Morris on the Greenmount Manor development in Bury. We have been in the property for just over three weeks. Having purchased a new build previously through a national house builder, I had a perception of how the process would be and the issues that may crop up. With Morris it has been such a positive experience for us and we couldn't be happier with our new home. I would just like to say a big thank you to Claire Glassey from the sales office who has been extremely friendly and supportive through the whole process ( So lovely that we wish she was going to be one of our neighbours!) And also thank you to Dean the site manager, he really has gone out of his way to make sure that we have settled in to our home and made sure that everything has been to our satisfaction throughout.

We visited The Meadows in Macclesfield, we were impressed with the high standard of work evident in the show home. The house we were interested in had a reservation on it but Wendie kept us up to date with how that was progressing. She arranged a plot visit for us, took time out to show us the available fixtures and fittings should the plot come available. In the end, we decided the house wasn't for us due to the location as it was too much of a relocation for us. Wendie was amazing, so understanding even wishing us luck with our eventual move. I can't fault her professionalism and caring nature, she is a definite asset to Morris homes.

Visited St Mary’s Park today with my husband and met with Vic. We really enjoyed our visit, we found Vic was really friendly and easy to talk to. Nothing was too much for her and she explained everything well to us. She had great knowledge of the plot and properties she had available to sell. She ensured we had all the information and gave us literature to take away and refer back too. We would have full confidence in purchasing a property from her. Having moved into our new build home in June we can honestly say the team at Hugglescote have been excellent!! Jack and Pauline helped with the purchase they provided all the information we needed and just getting everything sorted - from the day we phoned to make an enquiry to making our reservation Jack was able to answer our (many) questions. We were pleasantly surprised by the build quality and the ‘extra features’ that were included as standard - turfed garden/burglar alarm/outside tap and spot lights in kitchen and bathroom. Following completion and moving in the site team - Martin and Richard were on hand to help with our snagging list - most of which were very minimal and all sorted out in relatively good timing and with very minimal disruption to ourselves.

Having now been in our home just under 2 months we can say we have had a wonderful experience with Morris home. Jack in sales and the site management - Martin and Richard have been great - nothing has been too much trouble! We had a few minor snags when we moved in -nothing out of the ordinary biggest and they were efficient at getting them sorted for us, not everything happened over night but everything was completed in a timely manner and nothing was too disruptive for us. Jack has been helpful in reporting any issues for us and helped us with any questions we might have. The whole process of buying our new home has been made very smooth with the help of Jack and Pauline in the sales team, they have bother been so helpful and always very friendly and approachable.

We recently purchased a new property on the grange estate - was very excited as we had an older property before and looking forward to having all new. The service before completion cannot fault Morris Homes. Very helpful until we exchanged contracts - the 1st couple of months the property was great, then the issues started, which we expected being a new build. What we wasnt expecting was the lack of customer care from Morris. We are nearly 18 months in and still refusing to sign happy with the purchase. So far our bi fold doors have been attended to 7 times and adjusted as they keep sticking with us having to use our annual leave and wait in all day (issue not been resolved 18 months in). We have also had 6 visits for ticking pipes all through the house, had my ceiling ripped out patched 3 times with plasters and painter and cleaners coming ever other day. Again this issue hasnt been resolved and are still ticking with no luck from Morris of having it sorted. I have had two new front doors as they wouldnt lock and sit right (this is one issue now resolved). The area manager doesnt respond to any emails and seems to ignore us even though he was supposed to be dealing with the issues. The site manager we have never seen so all in all the after care is awful but the house is lovely if issues have been sorted.

We recently reserved at property on the St Mary’s Park development, and our experience so far has been fantastic. We are always warmly welcomed by Carol, who is incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about all the properties available, including all the added extras that come with the property. The show homes were of great quality, and we appreciated being able to explore them at our own pace without feeling pressured. Carol made sure to answer all our questions and offered to keep us informed of any updates. We are yet to meet Vic but she too has been very helpful over the phone. Bought a Morris home in June 2014.Had nothing but nasty surprises ever since.Cannot remember all the things on the snagging list as there are far too many to mention. Also been fobbed off by what they call 'customer service'.The road still hasn't been adopted and there is a decent sized pot hole outside my house that is growing by the years.Every time we make improvements we are met with the harsh reality of all their bodged jobs.The downstairs WC had a crack in the soil pipe and was incorrectly fitted so that raw sewage was collecting on the floor behind. To remedy this means digging out the concrete floor and replacing.We had a new front door fitted recently and this is when we discovered that our front garden was actually landscaped above the damp course. There has been traces of damp in the living room, and the air brick that was buried under the soil probably helped the masses of worms, slugs and woodlice that wefrequently get. Remedial work to take out alot of the soil, put in aco drains and is costing around £1000. Then there's the cost of replacing established shrubs.Let's not mention the toxic lease that has increased by 47% after 10 years.Thinking of buying a Morris home???Don't bother
