I have just sold my flat in Glasgow with DJ Alexander and I cannot fault them. They have kept me up to date with everything, always been available to speak to when I have had questions and had property sold in less than a week! Ruth and Connor have been really helpful and had a lot of local knowledge to be able to advise on how best to market the flat. I would recommend them to anyone looking for an estate agent.

Trustpilot'The problem will resolve itself'
'The problem will resolve itself' must be the motto of this company's customer support service. If you end up renting through them, don't expect them to get anything done when you request maintenance. What you will get instead are extensive tirades about the long list of things they believe you need to do before they take any action. My experience with trying to convince them to take measures against a rodent infestation have been incredibly frustrating and completely unsuccessful so far, which makes me deeply regret choosing to rent through them.DJ Alexander, having the plague would probably be much more pleasant than being your customer.Edit: Sending an e-mail to customer support has achieved nothing, as DJ Alexander can't even be bothered to respond. They may eventually take action to address your problems, but probably only if they're legally liable otherwise, and by that point will have wasted enormous amounts of your time. What an absolute disgrace of a company.

I have used several letting agents for properties I rent out in both Scotland and England. I have found DJ Alexander professional, and they always return emails and any queries we have within hours. I have recently had an issue with damp in one of my properties and Alison McInnes has dealt with the issue promptly updating me on every aspect. If you are looking at renting property in Scotland I would certainly recommend DJ Alexander

Avoid at all cost If you are a landord or a tenant in Aberdeen. They cant provide even the lowest level of service you would expect from a leasing agent. I’ve been with DJ Alexander (formerly stonehouse) for 14 months after my previous leasing agent sold their business to DJ Alexander. In those 14 months I have had constant grief and stress. I have had to write countless emails, make numerous phone calls, chasing up all sorts of problems I never had before with my previous leasing agent. Their inability to provide a proper service has cost me a small fortune, well over £1000 , through lack of experience and poor judgement. To make matters worse the staff turnover at DJ Alexander is incredible. In the 14 months i have been dealing with DJ alexander I must have had 7 or 8 property agents. That’s a ratio of a new agent every 2 months. I have to constantly go over and over simple things, constantly chasing them up, only to get excuses, or passed down the line. It must be an awful place to work. I know it’s an awful company to deal with. My previous tenants hated them. At first i thought they were being dramatic but now i can see why. All they care about is lining their pockets. Knowing what i know now i would not let this company look after my property even if they were to do it for free.

Following end of tenancy inspection, there were a number of major repairs and maintenance that needed taken care of. As I live 250 miles from the property, I left it to Sophie B. in property management team to coordinate and organise the repairs. She was extremely helpful, always prompt in her correspondences, very proactive and never hesitated, when asked, to help me with decisions in choosing materials, etc. She gave sound advice on property improvement with the right balance between spending Vs investment benefits. Overall excellent service.

DO NOT use as a landlord. I’ve had quite possibly the worst experience as a landlord when my property was transferred fromThe care of Getaghty-Gibb agents in summer 2023. They are impossible to get hold of, charge hidden fees, and don’t actually do anything to ‘manage’ the property at all. They will go ahead with work youve not signed off on and won’t bother to get quotes from different tradesmen to do simple tasks. They are clearly only interested in profits and completely disinterested in making sure managed properties are fit for purpose/marketable for prospective tenants.

Took over the letting agency my landlord used, TayLetting, read reviews to see they are buying up small agents. Then they shared personal data with contractors without permission. But worse, they are utterly hopeless at managing shared services at the property. The final straw is a schedule of charges - no other agent makes in my experience- including an automated reference, 3 questions £30. Scammers exploiting tenants at every opportunity.

The hall light switch is at the far end of the hall and, being a bit undteady on my feet, asked DJA if I could have a motion sensor switch installed. No problem. Lewis was the electrician and he came by and installed one but, it stayed on for 20 minutes before turning off. Lewis came back again, by this time it was on for 13 seconds, off for two seconds and back on again for 13 seconds, off for two seconds.....continually. He went off and got another switch but, it did the same. Oh my gosh ! Just out of the blue, he asked if I had another bulb. I thought to myself, "I can't believe a bulb would make any difference !" but.............I was wrong !Eureka ! THAT was the problem ! It's been working perfectly for two weeks now and is a huge improvement.

Great Service.This was unfortunatley quite a drawn out request due to availabiliblty of the landlord but Dale was very , very proactive and helped us get the situation sorted. Exactly the letting agent you want every day but also when the worst happens - they really care about their tenants and will drop everything when a crisis hits. Their primary care is keeping a good relationship between landlord and tenant and they'll do all they can when something needs sorting to break the new to me gently and ensure that everything is fixed professionally and rapidly. And, when a DISASTER happens, they're like an emergency service.

We are new tenants with DJ Alexander and so far have been very impressed. There was an issue with a lack of hot water in the shower and the maintenance manager David Harcus had it sorted for us the same day. With other letting agents we have used we always had to wait days if not weeks for repairs.

We are very lucky to have moved into a stunning property in the west end of Glasgow managed by DJ Alexander. Throughout our tenancy, we have had a number of issues arise such as a broken washing machine and the landlord requesting a refurbishment after our move-in date but this has been handled greatly by Tyler who has taken the time to explain everything step by step and has had engineers come out as soon as possible. Really helped put our minds at ease
