TrustpilotFrom Satisfaction to Frustration: Poor Service and Communication at DJ Alexander
We were initially very satisfied with the services provided by Tay Letting. However, our experience took a significant turn for the worse when operations transferred to DJ Alexander. Problems arose when our long-term tenant vacated the property. The end-of-term report failed to include substantial repair expenses, which could have cost us hundreds of pounds. When I raised this issue with the agent, they challenged the photographic evidence I provided. Only after persistent efforts on my part was I able to secure the appropriate compensation. Communication throughout this process was appalling, with a complete lack of urgency and responsiveness from DJ Alexanders representative.

Sometimes, when things don't go as smoothly as one wants, it takes an individual to go the extra mile to make things work. For a CEO to get involved in what was a minor issue shows what an excellent company DJ Alexander is. For the CEO to choose Ashley Smith to sort the issues shows he also knows his staff well. Top Drawer. Ashley Smith was outstanding. Efficient. Professional. And effective.

The incompetence of the agency and their staff is absolutely appalling. I’ve been renting through them for about 2.5 years now and this will be the last time once I found another property. I’d suggest anyone to stay away from them if you value your time and money. The repairs are taking months to be completed the joiners they work with lack of competence to even get the smallest repairs completed. I have reported a few small issues almost 3 months ago and yet nothing has been done. Even when you submit the repair request they have a nerve to question if the repair is necessary such as replacing a mouldy shower sealant after living in the property for almost 3 years. I have also reported an issue with the rats outside the property last year and they said that nothing can be done about it because the SOURCE is another office building, which is a few meters away. This is not only a very unpleasant issue but also it can be very dangerous as rats can carry many sort of diseases. I never thought that living in the Edinburgh city centre and paying a massive amount of money for rent would have to deal with such problems.One of their managers should be fired for the way she speaks with customers and the lies she’s making up.I will be reporting this agency and also seek a legal advise for the breach of the contract. Absolute joke of the agency.UPDATE!I find it absolutely weird and creepy that the manager I have noted in my original review keeps looking at my profile on LinkedIn or even had a nerve to look me up in the first place after I left the review. Absolutely ridiculous how unprofessional your staff is and who you employ. I left a google review which contains the name of the manager and will be sending a letter to their head office too.

Very disappointing services. I vacated the house on 6th August 2024. Till today I am chasing these guys to get my security deposit amount. Everytime they are telling that they are working with Landlord to get the details. Its really a pathetic experience. They were not ready to give the keys before making the deposit but now its been more than 3months and still chasing them to get updates. I would suggest dont go the houses letted by this agency.
