GoogleI brought a buy to let property this year and Space Lettings found me a tenant on the first day of viewings. The staff were very helpful with any queries I had and the whole process was very smooth. I cannot recommend them enough. I am very happy with the service I received and the ongoing management of the property.

GoogleAwful service. No communication from the agent. We had to call on multiple occasions to find out any information from him. We made it explicitly clear that we wanted to take the property and were not told that we had to take an extra step to hold the property even though the agent was aware this was our first time letting a property. Lost a perfect property to incompetence of others which is honestly heart breaking. Wouldn't recommend. If I could leave no stars I would.

GoogleI was a bit worried about some of the reviews I'd seen below, but there honestly was nothing to worry about at all. We've just found a property with them and moved in recently. They made the process of getting our new rental super easy! Hayley got back to us quickly and made the process really easy. Was also easy to organise picking up the keys, and since we've moved in they've been great at letting us know what to do etc.

GoogleHad the "pleasure" of working with Hayley on gaining a new Tenancy in St. Albans. *Extremely difficult to reach her - no mobile phone & was hardly in the office *Would leave messages with her colleagues she claimed she never got *Her email response time initially was days but when it came time to getting money from me that suddenly improved to hours.... *When she did "reply" it was selective, totally ignoring some questions & just giving answers to a few *I asked for confirmation on the deposit amount as a double check before payment she gave me the wrong figure & then tried to make it look like I shorted the money (by £30 out of over £2k) ??? Overall Poor Comms, Customer Service & Not Professional in the least.

GoogleShowed up to for our viewing appointment to be met with another couple who were late? Or appeared to be late. Instead of allowing us to view they invited them in to view along side us. So we had to sit there listening to them assuring they'd be placing an offer and talking shop while we awkwardly waited to be allowed into the next room... Some of our questions remained unanswered as the agent hadn't ever been in the house. And clearly the only info made available to her was what was written on the ad. Usually agencies are well informed of the ins and outs. After all, that's part of the business. Were told that negotiation was acceptable. So we also put an offer and expressed we were willing to further negotiate price (even over asking price) and tenancy length. No surprise that its stripped off the sites now and when we called (as we were expecting them to call either with a counter or telling us the next step was ready) we were instead told another offer was accepted. Cool. Glad we haven't been waiting by the phone all weekend for what we thought was the most perfect house or anything. Is this review being posted emotionally? Yes. Is anything stated incorrect, judging by other poor reviews probably not ;)

GoogleI have had the greatest experience in dealing with senior sales Agent Nick Doyle from Space Lettings St. Alban's office. It was going to be a difficult transaction from the start with a tenant who was not about to vacate easily. I the seller, live overseas and had to rely on people back in UK to bring this together. This has been successfully achieved with Nicks help, his knowledge on how things work and his tenacity to make it all happen when I thought all was lost. This is the guy to have on your side as he has the "know how" in order to negotiate. Well done Nick, I truly appreciate all that you have done for me and can only highly recommend you to others who are thinking of buying and or selling. A true professional. Thank you.

GoogleMy heating failed in the winter and this estate agent didn't think it was their responsibility to fix it. Do not use as you will probs be left with an uninhabitable home

GoogleI switched over to Space Lettings as an owner, before it opened its office on London Road. There are many reasons for its successful expansion beyond St Albans, too. In contrast to competing firms, where I endured overpriced services for high agency commissions, it has always offered prompt professional service, in short reliable.

GoogleI wouldn't recommend this company. I live below a woman with severe special needs who rents with this company. Due to their phone lines being down and her bathroom incurring a leak, she was facing the significantly distressing prospect of having no water. They (deliberately I assume) do not have an out of hours service for St.Albans. I have had frustrating and difficult conversations following the damage to my property which they refuse to inform the landlord of. Luckily I'm not a hostile person but if I were that landlord and perhaps one day decided to live in my property or even pop back I would find that very uncomfortable. Certainly if I considered letting my property this would be enough to put me off. Naturally I only speak for myself, though looking at other reviews (bar the glowing ones on their website ;)) I don't seem to be anomalous.

GoogleI frst met this agency when looking to rent in St Albans, they were always polite and professional. I always thought I would use them if I were to ever be a landlord which did happen. They have been my managing my property for 11 years and always jump on maintenance issues for tenants. I have always found them helpful and friendly and have never had any issues with them. Unlike other agencies they don't insist in pushing the rent up on tenets every year either which is good for the tenant and I respect as a landlord.

GoogleI let my property through Space beginning last year during lockdown, prior to this I managed the property myself. While I had always struggled to find a tenant quickly, Space found a tenant within days. They dealt with the initial queries from my new tenant quickly with little required from me, and I haven't heard from him since. Very happy landlord!PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Value

FacebookI have never had such an awful experience with a letting agency. We were spoken to in an absolutely disgraceful manner and I am sure this was because we are all young people. I would like to urge anyone who is thinking of using Space - DONT. You will move into a frankly disgusting house. They will then charge you hundreds of pounds out of your deposit for the most ridiculous claims - despite the disgusting state of the house when you moved in. I am not entirely sure how they have received so many positive reviews but please do not believe them.

FacebookAlthough the members of staff seemed pretty nice and helpful in the first visit, my group and I received very poor assistance and guidance after that. We were obviously unexperienced in getting a house and the estate agent seemed to not understand that by giving us totally insensitive comments and inappropriate looks. It took them a long time to answer out doubts and questions, I had to wait 2 days in order to receive basic banking information in order to do my transfer to pay the deposit. They accused us of not having paid the deposit and threatened us to take the house away from us. It took them 48 hours to check their account and check beforehand if all the money was there. Obviously we worried and when we rang up, no one answered the phone (and my friend called twice before closing times) I thought we would be pleased with Space but it was a total disappointment. I would NOT recommend this agency for future students. They are slow hence slightly unprofessional I would say and lack customer service. What should have been an enjoyable experience almost turned into a nightmare.

FacebookThe management needs to be more efficient, some members of the team were adequately helpful, however others need to understand that basic customer service is really important. It is mine and my future housemates' first time renting a house, however none of us received the guidance that we required in giving the documents necessary to complete the application, only an email telling us that if we did not send it to them by that day that we would lose our house. Further to this, our estate agent was very unnecessarily rude to me after I asked a basic yes or no question which made me almost feel stupid. I wouldn't recommend this letting agent, I think that they take advantage of undergraduates' inexperience and they need to be more organised. I have also heard very bad reviews of SPACE from people in my situation. Upon completing my application for the house I am really hoping that they will be more helpful in the future.

FacebookIts a trouble company, I wouldn't recommend any one to use their services specially for international students. I am a student that came from abroad and I made a contract with them, for unfortunate reasons I had to leave before the contact was over. After looking for a tenant for a long time I managed to find one. I send him to their office so he could review the contract and the room, Space team members convinced him to take other room due to his urgent situation, which means that they steal a tenant that I have found for their needs.
